I may pick this one up. I didn't get the first one due to a gut feeling but I don't have that money sucking girlfriend anymore so why not?

Considering the importance of story in the game, I would play the first one before the sequel comes out. For the $15 you can grab it for used, totally worth the price of entry - repetition aside. It's not the best game ever, but it's fun and pretty and definitely worth a play through if you're stoked for the second.

I felt the story went a bit Indigo Prophecy at the end.

I loved the first Assassin's Creed, and I am going to love this one as well.

Halo 3: ODST, Modern Warfare 2, and Assassin's Creed 2 will all be joining my game library soon.

Yea. I bet if you threw a wii bundle on EBAY with your games and any extra accessories you would have enough to get a SLIM before christmas.

Uncharted 2 and Modern Warefare 2 for me. All day everyday.

Hopefully this one won't have the pre-release bugs the other one had for PS3. Can't wait to pick it up, though.

This whole Holiday season looks like a pretty great one. Splinter Cell getting delayed still sucks a bit, but I'll have plenty to keep me occupied.

Almost every time I see Ubisoft talk about this game they seem make a lot of comments of the 1st games shortcomings. They seem to pretty hard on their own game.

k, the poison and money throwing thing is cool. But really, it seems like their using it as a big staple of their "new ways to play" ending repetitiveness etc. How many ways can you really use it? Its a pretty narrow game play element. I dunno, it just seems a little too gimmicky.

The question is whrether the gameplay avoids being repetitive as in the fitrst one, which was the biggest complaint about it.

Hmm..checked the venice trailer, looks pretty good. It also helps that there is more colour in the environment this time, and there is a touch of Thief in the gameplay now

And the poison feature looks interesting, opens up some useful tactical possibilities

Dang, that trailer was REAL sexy. The combat looks fucking awesome, especially the combo's. They look really natural and dynamic, I just hope it's not too easy. Plus I'm a sucker for some Justice, who are 100x better live btw.

Ubisoft makes fantastic game trailers. Games? Not so much (well, they used to). I fell for the AC1 trailer and then that game turned out to be a bore.

Lol I fell for it too.

Still, I toughed it out and finished. The last hour was surprisingly good though after a very mediocre repetitious 6 hours of... finding the dude, killing the guards around him, killing him, watching some white background, and repeat.

Repetion was not the problem with the first game - it was a distraction from the fact that NOTHING YOU DID in the first game had any significance. :-(

For some reason, after reading this I'm a little less excited for the game. It seems like it would make as less sense as the other game. Why would the poisoned enemy take his sword out and start swinging? And if Ezio threw out money near the guard, why is the AI so dumb as to automatically jump at it? Is there no self preservation?

I was at PAX and saw the demo. It looks awesome - but one thing really bugs me: there is now a weapon wheel, with a bajillion choices.

This is absolutely going to kill the flow of the game - the first game had just enough weapons that you can use any of them with a single button press. Now you have to hold down a button, select it from the wheel... oy.

The trouble with Assassin's Creed, like that screen shot, is that it can be so gruesome at times. Imagine being impaled through the stomach with a 6 foot lance, and then lifted by it, forcing you to hold on by only your internal organs and belly muscles. The guy's probably a nice, order following, loyal, trusted man with a loving wife and two children. Can't we just knock him out?
(I'm buying this game :-D )
