Here's our big, greedy idea: Buy one of the 140 PlayStation 3 titles being offered in the current BestBuy.com deal for a lucky friend's future Christmas present, and get one for ourselves in the process for half the price! Dealzon spotted the sale we're selfishly taking advantage of over the weekend, which also offers free shipping until the end of Labor Day (that's tonight, folks!).

Thankfully, the deal offers more than just clearance titles -- last week's Guitar Hero 5 and system-selling Metal Gear Solid 4 are among a the handful of good stuff on the list (if you buy GH5, you could technically get a free copy of Guitar Hero: Van Halen as well, upping the value even more). According to the folks at Dealzon, the offer ends on Saturday, September 12, so you may want to get while the gettin's good.

Should I get Socom and RE5?

Ehhh, I was considering RE5 along with 3 other games (to get 2 combos) but I'm just holding my money until the solid releases this winter. If you're dying to play either of those, you might as well, but if it were me, I'd save the cash for games like Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted 2. My pretty large backlog also didn't help my decision to not buy any games in this deal either :(

While this is a nice deal, the selection is much more disappointing than what was given to 360 buyers.

Example.
During the 360 deal you could get Brutal Legend and Modern Warfare 2 with the deal.

But when it comes to PS3 neither titles are available for the deal. Bug Disappoint it after getting a good deal on Halo 3 and Guitar Hero 5 for 360.

Was really hoping to get Brutal Legend and Uncharted 2 on PS3 for a good deal as well. Looks like i'l just keep my pre-orders at gamestop and pay them off fully.

Disappointing that PS3 owners get less of a selection though.

I think that may have been a mistake by Best Buy somehow. About half way through the 360 deal they got rid of pre-orders. I think they saw how they were getting flooded with pre-orders (especially for MW2, I'm guessing) and realized they were losing too much potential money. I would've jumped all over this deal as well if I could have gotten MW2, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 2, and some other game pre-ordered. Getting new releases at a discounted price is rather nice.

Did not now they canceled pre-orders as part of the deal on the 360 side as part of the deal.

That would explain a lot and why their aren't as many games compared to that sale.

Yea, it's a shame they're not even having a one day promotion where pre-orders are allowed to be combined with this offer. Best Buy would have gotten some of my money that way, but now there's no way I'm buying a new release full priced from them when I have local game stores I could support that have new releases about $3 cheaper than everywhere else. It's only $3, but still...It's $3 :)

Beatles RB is in this one for pre-order though (although admittedly that one is fairly close).

Guess I'll get Killzone 2 and MGS4 for $75 since I never picked up the bundle before.

I wish they had DMC4 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma tho.

Bad thing is, no pre-orders so its a no-go.

Since I just ordered my PS3 and haven't played Uncharted or Resistance I was going to do that, but they won't ship Uncharted and it says unavailable for all my local Best Buys. I'm thinking maybe sonic unleashed? I loved the demo on the xblm but I'm afraid of the werehog segments.

Suggestions? I'm trying to keep it to $30 games and under since I just blew most of my cash on the ps3 itself.

metal gear and rachet and clank maybe? it depends if you want exclusives, theres plenty of multi games that are good buys at $30 bucks too... uncharted was great but ive never played resistence

Go with Metal gear and littlebigplanet.

I actually don't really like littlebigplanet. After playing the kiosk demo I felt that it was really charming but not that fantastic of a platformer.

As for metal gear, it looks like a fantastic game, but I've never played any Metal Gear games. Seeing as though the creator of the series apparently doesn't understand the timeline completely, (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/21/confused-about-metal-gear-solids-timeline-so-is-hideo-kojima/) I'm not really sure about jumping in at number 4. I get the feeling I'll be a little... lost.

RIght now though, it kind of seems like the best choice anyways. Might go with MGS4 and Resistance.

i never played any of the others metal gears either... its not too bad trying to figure stuff out, then if you have questions you can download the metal gear database off psn

You can download the Metal Gear thing on the PSN to get caught up on story for free if you wish.

I'd go with Killzone 2 over Resistance. Much better game if your looking for an FPS.

I'm eventually going to get killzone 2, but right now it's out of my budget.

I'd still say go with LBP. LittleBigplanet isn't the type of game you can judge by a demo, you need to try all the user made levels to judge it. Just today I played a fantastic pinball level, there was virtually no platforming in it, just pinball, R1 for the flippers and X to launch the ball. Some of the levels are ingenious (though there is an equal amount that suck) at least rent it.

This is in store too... I hope everyone realizes that. I picked up Ghostbusters and Wolfenstien yesterday, theres plenty of selection too. im not sure why people are complaining about a BOGO sale. I might go back and pick up infamous and Prototype or madden and ncaa, or guitar hero 5 and fallout 3... i could blow all kinds of money on games i havent bought yet. anything in the ps3 aisle is up for grabs people... quit complaining.
