Coca Cola is already more popular than water - and i'm certain anybody who has a PlayStation 3 has drank a mouthful of coca cola.

Still - i'm not complaining - if Coca Cola gives virtual coupons for real products then maybe it'll encourage other companies to do the same instead of making consumers give real cash for virtual products.

But how much more popular than water? Water is making a comeback and Coke needs to defend it's turf.

Maybe this marks the time when Coke will finally and decisively defeat water, so no one ever drinks water again. Water isn't waging much of a campaign, but people seem to stubbornly cling to it anyway.

Coca cola corp. employed Rubberduckzilla. Not the most subtle approach, but it works.

There's a lot more to do now than when it first debuted.

It depends on how far you go into it... For example, there's Xi, which is this puzzle-like scavenger hunt for the truth underneath Home.

When there is something good on, you can go to the Theatre to watch something. The Mall is where you purchase clothes and can play chess there. There's a lot of themed areas with mini-games:

inFamous Space with electric shooting gallery, the Zombie Space has a maze, EA Space is pretty entertaining... It has Poker, Golf, G0-kart racing. The Shibito Hospital is a haunted house.

It's a fun casual game area, don't expect too much from it, but it has grown into a place where you can actually hang out and do stuff with people.

oh you're one of those people huh.... well i'm just going to play along and not reply as if you are some sort of idiot.

you can:

play one of the many almost endless mini games in one of the dozens of rooms from everything like Redbull air racing to Guitar Hero then go back to EA Sports to play some go-kart and before you leave home you can play some classic games at the Namco arcade.

there is also people there, yes i said people, lots of them. They have convos, they play around, and they still quincy. Dance, talk or just follow people in a creepy way. Launch a game with a person you met, meet some friends in your apartment, beach house or anywhere on the world map.

... actually you're right, there is nothing to do in home. Its exactly how it was a year ago. /srcsm

so....it seems like an internet chatroom with mini-games and a marketplace? the only way that would be fun to me is if i were playing it with my real life friends, but none of them have a ps3 so...

i was pretty much hoping it would be an MMO version of the sims. THAT i would be interested in.

still gonna get a ps3 soon, but don't think i'll be using HOME much. thanks for answering my question.

profeta: is your sarcasm directed at me? i'm just asking a question, the previews that i'd seen for home told me pretty much nothing about what you actually do. just a soon-to-be-PS3 owner trying to find out about some of the features, no need for snark.

Yes his sarcasm was directed at you, seriously dude are you that dense? but then again considering the question... I fail to understand how people still refuse to take two seconds and actually LEARN what home is rather than claiming it sucks without ever having tried it.

Home is a way for people to interact and make friends. One of the biggest complaints about the PS3 compared to the 360 and live was the lack of a community feeling within PSN, Home is their effort to change that by giving people a place to connect play games, and discuss their gaming habits, that's all it's ever been but people keep expecting it to be an MMO despite the fact that it's FREE and most MMOs require a fee to pay for their constant upkeep and maintainance which is exactly the opposite of PSN's intent, in fact it does help with operating costs by being an aplication that gives them an advertising option and creates interest in Playstation software through the use of the individually themed spaces. If you want to compare it to something then yes it is like the Sims because you can customize you character all you like with new clothing and furniture.

But hey it's not like that paragraph I just typed makes any difference because right after me there'll be 13 other guys that claim home sucks without ever being in it or even bothering to realize no one ever claimed it was a "game".

I know videogame blogs are real serious business, but some of us don't own a ps3 yet. Some of us might legitimately inquire as to what its all about, even at this point. Relax. Shake hands kids.

It's no different from what Roberta Williams claimed as the casual link to adventure games death. Couldn't have been the really obscure illogical puzzle solutions, game designers trying new and "clever" ways for the player to fail, or the fact that the quality of the main draw behind adventure games, the story, was not only going down, but other genres were picking up the slack. Nope, computers were cheaper thus the bar for entry was lower. Stupid people = poor people and the mass adoption of PCs by the less than privelaged minority of America was what killed Adventure games.

Remember that sentiment before celebrating this woman's games as they hit Steam or GOG later.

I wish Coke would introduce a sugar based soda in the US. Pepsi throwback is AWESOME, and doesn't make me sick like sodas with corn syrup do. I just prefer Coke to Pepsi and wish there was an equivalent product.

Also, the letter "g" at the end of words is for PUSSIES!

?????

This stuff is being done by companies who give Sony cold hard cash.

I'd rather Sony make as much money as they can then give up on something that GUARANTEES them sweet, sweet profit (which is hard to come by for Sony lately).

7 million out of the 24 million PSN users use home on a daily basis. PSN is much more important.

PSN is nothing special right now and maybe if Eric Lempel stop putting out shit updates like 3.0 and actually focused on the more features for the PSN, it'd be much better.

umm Unviersal Game Launching was in Home from the jump....then they took it away for the open Beta....as for the Cross Game Chat and party system(which both are part of Home as well) thats something they are working on to move outside of home....thing is they have to do it in a way where its going to completely run in the background and not tax system resources to heavily....

Giving stuff away is just another form of advertising. But I don't think that this is the reason Home/PSN is free. Maybe part of it, but the majority is that Sony has to compete with MS.

I too, would prefer something other than Coke.
