Holy do-over, Badman! New Euro demo coming along with updated PSP firmware

Last week, a European demo of Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? was released on PSN, requiring PSP firmware 5.55 to run. One minor issue: firmware 5.55 isn't available for download. That means that the Badman demo is effectively exclusive to people who bought Dissidia Final Fantasy or Soulcalibur Broken Destiny, two games that have the new firmware on the disc. What did Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! do to deserve this?

NIS's Allison Walter outlined the company's plan to correct this unfortunate situation on the PlayStation Blog, inadvertently announcing the release of an upcoming firmware in the process. "We're going to re-release it next Thursday, 10 Sept," she said in response to user Killzone_Kid, "by which time Firmware 6.0 should have been released. Sorry for the wait!" You'll be repelling heroes from your subterranean lair in no time!

Wait, Firmware 6.0? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

I hope Dark Alex plans to make an M33 version of 6.0. Since Sony blocked older versions of the PSP firmware from accessing PSN (and the latest M33 version is of 5.00), I haven't been able to do any PSN stuff with my PSP (and I don't quite trust the GEN custom firmware team).

i tried gen once and it bricked my slim. i tried it a second time after i unbricked it, it worked.

hows about you either a.) buy a PSP-1000 on the cheap and use that one for your hacking needs or b.) stop being a fuckin pirate....either way stop complaining about NOT being able to do something that Sony doesnt want you to do for hacking your PSP...with any luck they will soon block hacked PSPs from playing ANY PSP game at all....

He doesn't since people using it for piracy was not his "intention".

Chill the hell down, Chris. Don't assume just because I use CFW I pirate games.

I DO buy all of my games (DS, PSP, etc.). However, I like having CFW so that I can backup my UMD games on to my MSPD. You know why?
1. Multiple games on hand at once.
2. Greatly reduced loading times.

Furtheremore, I can convert my own PS games that I legitimately own into a PSP-playable format. There's also emulators of older systems and cool PSP apps like PSPTube.

I don't approve of software piracy, either, but acting like a white knight and pointing fingers at those who do won't stop them.

Ummmm By Definition and admission that IS illegal and it IS pirating...because that is what people do when they rent and rip...regardless how YOU see it...if the gat damn MPAA says that me "backing up" my DVD movies to my Media server to stream all over my house is pirating then damn if what you are doing isn't....not everyone uses things JUST for them.....

Making personal copies of media I legitimately own is piracy? I must be posting in a troll thread.

Ummmm don't believe me?? ask the License holder of said titles...ask your Government...hell ask a Lawyer.....like I said its looked at as PIRACY for me to have copies of MOVIES I OWN ON MY MEDIA SERVER....I have over 1,000 movies half of which I have ripped to my server......

It's not piracy if you own it. It's considered a fair use copy for personal use, like making a backup. What may be illegal is the process of breaking the copyright protection on the disc but honestly even that is kind of a gray area.

Bottom line, if you're copying something you own so you can use it in another way, it's not piracy. Who here hasn't ever ripped a CD they owned into iTunes or Windows Media Player?

I played the demo And I thought it sucked!..Boring remake from the early 80's?.Horrible graphics.. ..they should've did a better job..And shame on SCEA for bringing this game to America..Damn Japan for that just like Pokemon Arhhhhhhhhhh!!

It WILL be released on Sept 10th. Those plans are....firm.

Well thats interesting enough....but we knew 6.0 was going in the next few weeks anyways.....someone left a comment about that on the PS.Blog a while back if I'm not mistaken,....

The game isn't very good. It's unbalanced. Definitely cute, and it may be worth another look for a sequel that fixes its shortcomings, but as it stands right now; it's a whole bucket of meh.

I liked the demo, but from that and what reviews are saying, yeah it is unbalanced. Most of the creatures do not work they way they are described in the index. Hopefully they do make a sequel to fix the issues.

It was cool and quirky but I couldn't even beat the demo, it was way too hard.

they did make a sequel. in japan. before the original even came to other parts of the world.

Then I stand corrected. There is no hope for the series.

I didn't know 5.55 wasn't already out. I've had it for about a month now. Going to 6.00 already is just a sign of how much Sony sucks at this firmware number thing.

i just want a firmware update that actually does something that i am actually impacted by! psn store on the psp is the last one i can actually think of. oh well, with all the great games coming out and the minis soon as well, there isn't much i should complain about considering we were in a drought not even a year ago
