I don't want to hear any bitching today.

Great Wiiware game and Great Virtual Console game.

No more crying today.

I'd say the DSiWare selection is still pretty bitch-worthy

Here's some bitching: I don't like (a) games that are very hard, and (b) 'old-school' 16-bit games (whether they're actually new or not). Oh, and (c) card games (well, I'm happy to play card games, but I'll do it with actual cards thanks). Aaaand I don't actually know anything about it but let's throw in (d), games with a Z at the end of a one-word name. So this week's selection is a total washout as far as I'm concerned.

Of course given that I *do* like adventure games and I haven't played the second Monkey Island episode yet... and that the reason for that is that I have a number of disc-based Wii games I am nowhere near finishing... this bitching might be a bit less genuine than some.

In fact given the recent glut of good-quality Wii retail releases, I'm perfectly happy if they have a number of weeks - or months - like this with (as far as I'm concerned) nothing of interest. Other people like it, so that's cool - that applies to old-fashioned shooters and stupid card games both.

The hell? What's wrong with 16-bit games?

I have to ask the same question: what's wrong with 16-bit? Are you one of those graphics whores that think if you don't have bump-mapping and FSAA that the game is somehow not good?

Seriously, there's room enough to enjoy both. I like both Contra in its 8-bit and 16-bit incarnations, and I love Metal Gear Solid 4. These types of games CAN coexist, and one is not necessarily better than the other.

You must be a young preteen who cannot appreciate anything that came before them. You'll grow up and mature eventually.

I've been dying to play a Contra game ever since I beat Contra 3... after about 5 months of playing the game during study hall.

Wow, not only did Contra ReBirth get added, but Super RotJ also?! Awesome, I'll have to download both once I get the points.

Hehe... How do you know its 2 great games? Actually, Rebirth is not THAT great, hence the forced story and unlimited continues.... But it´s still quite enjoyable on HARD :D

Well, exactly... It may seem minute, but it takes away A LOT of the actual challenge. And the end of the game seems a bit rushed... And, while we are at it, about third of the game are "on-rails" levels... Erm, but a fine game besides that. Just don´t expect another Contra 4... It is nowhere as good...

I'm always cautious about buying VC games that I remember being supercool.

The only game so far that plays just as well as I remember it is StarFox 64. And even then, I forgot that there's no save system. Oh well, you can beat the game in like 12 minutes.

I think I'll keep my current memories of the SNES Star Wars games, instead of replacing them with thoughts of suicide and regret.

Contra Rebirth looks good, but unfortunately, I won't have the money or online capabilities to download it for awhile. :(

Here's hoping the Super Star Wars series will make its way to Europe soon, I'd buy each one as soon as they were released.

I WOULD download Contra Rebirth, but the Wii Shop Channel is glitching up as usual. Who else keeps getting error code 201022? This shit has been happening for about the last 5 or 6 games I've downloaded. This is a fucking joke. I've tried literally 17 times now (yes, I counted), and I've gotten an error code every time. Come on, Nintendo, get off your asses and fix this.
