Puzzle Quest ventures to $5 this week on XBLM
The excellent and addictive Puzzle Quest gets half off this week for Xbox Live Gold Members. Major Nelson sends word by necromantic carrier pigeon that the jewel-dropping epic will cost a mere 400
($5).
Even if you aren't interested in the game at the moment, may we suggest picking it up as a "boredom insurance policy?" Seriously, the first time you get bored, just boot up Puzzle Quest and you'll come out of the trance sometime the following week. Hey, listen ... we said it was an insurance policy against boredom -- nothing about you being able to keep your job, spouse or grades after starting.

$5: How much the sequel SHOULD cost.
*rabble rabble*
whylekat @ Sep 7th 2009 7:22PM
PuzzleQuest is infinetly better then GalaxyQuest. That "sequel" took soo many steps backwards...
dark_inchworm (stronger than never, ever before) @ Sep 8th 2009 12:27AM
I'd rather play Puzzle Quest than watch that movie, too.
Wait, what?
Thief @ Sep 7th 2009 7:21PM
Yippy! I will finally give this a try..
and I only have 500 points right now since 1 vs. 100 takes FOREVER to give MS Points as rewards out.

jcd @ Sep 7th 2009 10:12PM
beware, this game is like cocaine
PeacefulOutrage @ Sep 7th 2009 7:22PM
Bought. thanks for the heads up.
Markers1713 @ Sep 7th 2009 7:31PM
Yeah, great game. I sorta feel stupid for buying it back at it's old price of 1200 MSP ($15)
waynski1457 @ Sep 7th 2009 7:38PM
I bought it at that price, but I don't share your sentiment. It really is a great game that's still worth the $15. Now it's beyond a steal.
It is kind of weird that the expansion costs more at the moment (when that value is arguable).
Danny @ Sep 7th 2009 7:41PM
I played the demo of this game and lost to the tutorial guy 3 times in a row before I gave up completely.
sony boy (6 years til sony man child!) @ Sep 7th 2009 7:41PM
omg you too!! i bought the psp version and it took me like 5 tries to beat the second opponent.
Haon @ Sep 7th 2009 7:44PM
Anyone know if it is possible to buy content like this without a 360?
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Sep 7th 2009 7:53PM
I imagine you just go to xbla start an account and buy it. when u get a 360 it will be ready to download.
5 bucks for one the best xbla games is a steal!
M @ Sep 7th 2009 8:02PM
You can buy XBLA arcade games at the xbox live marketplace on xbox.com
You need an xbox live account and some microsfot points. You can buy the microsoft points on the site or redeem a code off the back of a points card on the site.
I'm not sure if you can sign up a live account on the site, though.
Once you buy the game, the next time you sign into a 360 with your account it will automatically start to download . (internet connection required, of course)
waynski1457 @ Sep 7th 2009 8:02PM
Make sure you have a gold account gamertag and just use the queue link in the post. My 360's still away and I have PA Ep 2 from the sale ready to download when I get it back.
Haon @ Sep 7th 2009 8:04PM
Already have a gold. Had a 360 for a couple years but sold it to get an elite but never got around to it. I should be good then.
ToadStoolPorridge @ Sep 7th 2009 8:03PM
I bought this for my PSP when it originally came out, and then bought it again when it was released for the iPhone. It's a fantastic game, just in case my example of purchasing it multiple times didn't get my message across :)
Phil @ Sep 7th 2009 8:27PM
So, purchases this week will consist of...
Puzzle Quest
Sonic and Knuckles
and crash course
Awesome week for live. :D
Guibs @ Sep 7th 2009 9:11PM
Wow, Crack never was so cheap!
this game is amazing. It steal at that price. I lost the number of hours I sunk into this game. So man hours of playtime for such a cheap price...
Juande [Xylon Uxkid] @ Sep 7th 2009 10:02PM
Penny Arcade last week and now this! Cool cool. Its time we get a real "Deal of the Week".
Uncontrol @ Sep 7th 2009 10:34PM
can another company please take over this franchise after the galactrix garbage
Snowblind @ Sep 8th 2009 4:45AM
This is the first Deal of the Week I've been interested in for a very long time.. And I just bought a PSP and Beatles Rock Band.
travis @ Sep 8th 2009 9:13AM
DARN! I spend my last remaning 400 ms points a eye patch, cog helmet and pom poms. I guess I should have waited.
Prox @ Sep 8th 2009 9:45AM
I can't express how much I hope you're joking.
Mac @ Sep 8th 2009 10:12AM
He has to be. 3 worthless items on there would probably be 600 or more.
WiNG [XBL&Steam: WiNGSPANTT] from lifeinagame.com @ Sep 8th 2009 9:23AM
Hopefully the expansion will drop in price now, haha.
Morning Toast @ Sep 8th 2009 10:42AM
If the XBL Puzzle Quest is anything like the Wii version, the on-screen text is *way* too tiny. I was excited to get it on the Wii and bummed that I couldn't read one damn thing. Went with the DS version instead which is awesomely superior.
But hey, I guess $5 is better than $10
Larry @ Sep 8th 2009 12:20PM
I picked it up around 10:30 last night (first mistake). I figured I would get a quick game in before bed (second mistake). I forced myself to go to bed around 1 am.
TrojanGuy @ Sep 8th 2009 1:18PM
If anybody is remotely interested in Puzzle Games, I'd highly recommend this. One of my favorite XBLA games, and $5 is a steal.
Stinky @ Sep 8th 2009 11:18PM
I took your advice and tried the demo and bought the game and was late for work because of it. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Alzheimers @ Sep 9th 2009 12:29AM
Yeah, it really is too bad that Galactrix bit the big one compared to this. The DS version was unplayable due to load times and save game corruption bugs. I've spent more than one commute playing this game, but right now the whole "Match-3" platform needs some serious love.
