Problem is that by doing the delayed PC release to reduce early piracy, they also cripple that version by having a lot of potential customers buy the console version anyway.

Still, I'm buying the PC port day one.

The PC port has implemented PhysX the best out of any game to date. Combat looks much sweeter with papers flying everywhere and steam flowing around you.

All my friends on Steam are hyped.
Oh, and the early torrent doesn't even work- you can't beat the game because of some glitch. (I just wanted to try it out, I'm still buying it day 1).

@ The Baron

Rocksteady delayed it for a good reason - to beef up the already amazing graphics. That kind of dedication and the universal unanimous praise it's been getting doesn't deserve to be pirated. Faithful PC gamers and I think even pirate junkies will no doubt purchase Batman: Arkham Asylum

No, the press release said it was to beef up the graphics. Funny how every PC port takes 2-3 weeks for the same thing. You'd think they'd start factoring it into the dev times.

I don't have a PC, but based on the PhysX videos I've seen, I'd say it's worth the slight delay.

How about we make a deal.

You buy Batman, and everyone else in return will stop buying Wii Sports. Sound good? It does to me.

I bought Batman [against my better judgment] and haven't been able to play more than a few hours because I can't get into it at all. I fail to see the appeal beyond it having Batman, Joker, Croc etc ... I would say that I think Infamous, Red Faction: Guerilla and Killzone 2 are easily superior to Batman Arkham Asylum. But, I do want to force myself to play the game more before I completely write it off and make a final determination. It's just that I've found myself wanting to play Madden 10, Infamous and Burn Zombie Burn instead of Batman.

If anyone played the Watchmen downloadable games they will probably agree that the combat mechanics are nearly identical. I'm not sure if thats praise for Watchmen: The End Is Nigh or an indictment on Batman Arkham Asylum. I can't get past the simplistic level design and clunky combat to enjoy the atmosphere, gadgetry, riddles and Invisible Predator mode. The aspect I have most enjoyed thus far is the in depth character bios you unlock as you progress through the title.

I'm going to play it all day and night after work and really give it a fair shot to make me a believer.

That sounds like the rhetoric of Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Saddam, Ceausescu, Mugabe, Castro, Niyazov, Jong-il, Al-Assad, Mussolini, Marcos, Khomeini and every other cult of personality figure the world has seen.

It's good to see that you don't take the whole video game and non-confomist views too far or anything. Heaven forbid someone wants to play Wii Sports or Eye pet instead of Batman Arkham Asylum. Whats next, T-Mac? You going to consider using Auschwitz gas chambers full of zyklon b on all the non conformist?

I finally beat the game this morning.

SPOILERS??!!

I was a little disappointed with the ending. All the way until Killer Croc's lair, I thought the game was incredible. After that, it went downhill a little. It's still awesome, but it went from an elite game to just "great".

That's just me though. Still my favorite game this year. I agree with GI's 9.5/10.

Well honestly after the scene before the final fight I wanted to fight the Joker as a giant Bane-like Batman.

I fully agree with you. Without getting into spoiler territory, the boss fights were probably the weakest part of the entire game. Bane would have been fine, had they not copied that fight several more times.

i'm savoring it right now. but i'm amazed at how little i've completed after all the time i've put in. it says i'm only 25% in! the longer the game takes the better for me, and then I still have another playthrough for some riddler trophies, and then the challenge maps. this game was definitely worth it to me

You can only get about 85%-87% doing everything in single player. The other 15-13% is getting top ratings in each of the challenge rooms, which is pretty hard.

I think its just more that people judge their purchases on what the game's catch is, and people are tired of WWII. they look at the back, see the same graphics on both games, but one is present day with badass weapons, the other is old and outdated

The challenge rooms are what makes the game killer for me. Campaign was great fun, but shaving seconds of your Silent Knight time to beat your friends on the leaderboard has an addictiveness to match any game I can think of.

Just goes to show you don't always need multiplayer to add replay value.
