Yes, the 999% week-to-week sales increase that the PS3 reportedly enjoyed in the UK, after the release of the PS3 Slim, may seem a little ... astonishing, but we'd like to help you make sense of the sequence of events.
1. First, NOBODY bought a PS3.
2. Then, EVERYONE did.
It's great news for Sony, but terrible for the PS3 executive who promised to come up with a way to increase PS3 sales by 1000 percent. Better luck next time, Mr. Former Director of Cross-Budgetary Marketing Promotional Strategy.

By the way:
"PS3 sales up 999% percent"
How many percent is 999 percent percent? Are they only up 0.999%?

If we gave up the "best country in the world" title, who has it now?

@copa
Somebody woke up on the wrong side of their bed today.
My comment was as related as your comment.
While I was relating to "I'll take 1500% increase, Bob!", you were relating to my "By the way" which is as related to the original comment as yours.
What you basically said was:
"I'm going to ignore the original comment, like, I assume, you did to point to you that you ignored the original comment".
Should have just downvoted if you didn't like it. Jeez.

Actually, I think Canada is considered the best country to live in. Mostly because nothing really bad happens there, or anything at all.

I'm pretty sure the country that has the title exists in the past. Y'know, the location you tend to see with rose colo(u)red glasses?

i thought the best country was Costa Rica, since they done away with military or any kind of war. They have stated they don't wanna be involved with world conflicts and such.... it may sound very ignorant, but a wise man once said that was bliss.
by the way, I'm high

OUR exclusive rights to 'best country in the world' ends this year....
we paid a hefty fine to have these rights !!!
if nobody buys it next it will divided up between the 10 or so largest countries of the world, for them to fight over.
and what is the definition of best anyway?

Well, some of you did, anyway.
If you judge your quality of life by your political affiliation, you're always going to be disappointed in your country at some stage of your life.
Best not get caught up in hyperbole in the first place, eh?

Heh, sorry I should probably explain stuff like that. I think the majority of people buying this don't know or care what Final Fantasy is, so they wouldn't know about a release date. Also, FFXIII is also coming to 360. Don't get me wrong I plan on getting a PS3 and playing the hell out of FFXIII when it comes out.

Leroy...People buying a PS3 dont KNOW WHAT FINAL FANTASY IS!?!?! Hold up now...we are talking about the UK...NOT the US....hell in the US most tend to stay away from RPGs as they can take a lot of time to master.....since Americans tend to want what they want when they want it they go for instant gratification games...i.e. shooters & Sports...

FF13 is multi-console now, so I doubt it's launch will have quite as much impact on sony consoles as an FF game launch did back in the PS2 days. I'll be getting it for my PS3.

lol....both....In Japan & EU (moreso Japan) the PS3 will skyrocket in sales again) but in the US I'd be willing to bet that since JRPGs get treated like a redheaded stepchild here then I think it WILL sale better on PS3 than on the 360(especially if its some exclusive PS3 DLC) but I dont think it will sale as good the first day here as it will in Japan

Yeah, Sony have really done well - especially with the PS3 games. They seem to be willing to take quite a few risks in a push for unique and excellent games, so it was sad to see that their strategy seemed to be backfiring. Plus hopefully they'll be even stronger competition now, which is good for all of us.
Would still like a Party system on the PSN though...
