Funny. But seriously. Lay off Bale. He had a bad loss of his temper and has been made fun of enough. We all make mistakes and Bale took his beating already from the media.

But seriously, STFU.

Actions have consequences. Even for self-centered actors. And his saying that he was "betrayed" by people on set for releasing the tape just shows he is more concerned about people finding out what he did than him actually doing it.

He sucks, and most of his movies do too. The Batman movies were good, but it sure as hell wasn't cause of him and his idiotic gravel voice. He's competing with Clooney for worst Batman ever.

You're just wrong. He's the only Batman that (minus the voice) is a good Bruce Wayne and a good Dark Knight.

It doesn't matter if he is an actor or not. What matters is that PEOPLE (I.E. anyone) can make mistakes. When you only focus on the negative, that is all you will find. Just because you don't like someone does not mean you have to attack them every chance you get. And hating someone for yelling at someone in an incident that doesn't involve you whatsoever.........That just makes you a small person. Don't like his movies? Fine. Express yourself at a movie site.

You'd be pissed and then say "it's not may fault, I was half John Connor right then". That's far more ridiculous than the twinkie defense.

Step 1: treat others with respect. It'll save having to have your PR agent make up a ton of ridiculous excuses to try to salvage your image.

Not to fan the flames, but how many of you actually listened to the full Bale exchange? At least what was recorded of it, which was nearly 4 minutes long:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrvMTv_r8sA
I know we've all had times when we lost our temper, but it sure seems like everyone else involved was calm and apologetic (you have to listen closely since the light guy, McG and whoever else weren't miked), while Bale kept being unreasonable, going off on that guy for far too long. If his point was about professionalism, he could have made it be being professional himself. That's what I like to call irony.
And, Nate, it's true, none of us was involved in this, but that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to formulate an opinion of the matter. I doubt you don't have any opinions about things you haven't directly experienced yourself.

People seem to be exceptionally big dicks lately. It's becoming way to commonplace to see some commenters here insult other, condescend and ridicule posts/people.

Oh 'stiq, what has become of you. I know some of you people like to just needle someone on the internet, get your jollies off on coming off high/mighty/intelligent and insinuating people that anyone who isn't you is stupid, but knock it the fuck off. Reading some of the comment sections has become intolerable as of late.

Christian Bale is a ***phenomenal actor***. In fact, aside from Leonardo DiCaprio and Clive Owen he is probably my current favorite actor. 3:10 to Yuma, The Prestige, The Machinist, American Psycho Both Batman movies and his role in Terminator Salvation were all incredible performances.

If Bale is a bad actor then who would you say is a good actor?

I'm not saying Bale is on the same level of a Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Benicio Del Toro, Denzel Washington, Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L Jackson or Kevin Spacey but the guy has an amazing screen presence and can actually play a super wide range of characters - actually act. Did Heath Ledger outshine him? Yes, but he would have done that to anyone that played Batman in The Dark Knight. Ledger's portrayal of The Joker was just that epic and timeless.

If you want to blame anyone for the gravely voice blame Christopher Nolan (the director) because that was his decision and direction.

Man I can't believe you listed "Terminator Salvation" as an incredible performance. Everybody trashed that for good reason. He was the most robotic thing in the film. Also there are far more talented actors. He wasn't good in Machinist, he just lost weight and called it a day. That's no performance. If you want to talk about method acting AND actually acting look no further than Michael Fassbender in Hunger. He shows Bale how it's done. I thought he was really good in Empire of the Sun and he was alright in American Psycho. But other than that I think he's been really shit and one-note.

i thought he was great as me, especially as Bruce Wayne, he did that perfect "douchebag asshole in public/good guy in private". I also always liked the smoker voiced batman, i mean, in Arkham Asylum, Kevin Conroy's voice is the same as it was for his Bruce Wayne voice in BTAS, even he used to do a growl as Batman

Oh no, I love Batman having a growl, I just couldn't stand the way Bale did it. His over-exaggerated growl made his Batman come off more as a caricature of Batman than Batman proper.

The Dark Knight was a great film regardless, but Bale could have done a better job.

F these losers! I'm right there with ya on the raspy voice!! Real comic fans know that batman (not Bruce Wayne) is constantly described as having a growl in his vocal tones!! Christain Bale's performance was spot on both as Wayne & the Bat!

what was weird was that, in my never ending pursuit of all things Batman i used to be able to do a perfect Baleman voice only after watching TDK a few more times i found that he changes it a lot. In the first act, it's the same as Batman Begins, that is, perfectly understandable but with a gruff, the second he sounds like he has a cold or a slight lisp on certain words, this notably begins in the scene where Dent flips a coin while interrogating thomas schiffe, and then in the 3rd act, it's a mix of the two, but with even more gruffness.
