Michael Keaton and Conroy had the best "growly" Batman voices. Bale's was just shit and way too over the top. I thought I was watching an Oscar the Grouch segment on Sesame Street. Especially when he gave the Joker that final speech about how "people are capable of good" the whole theatre laughed.

I actually heard that the voice was "enhanced" with special effects to sound even deeper and to reverberate more which is annoying as hell. I like a deep voice for Batman compared to Bruce Wayne, but making it that crazy deep was a pain to listen to sometimes.

Whylekat, All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder isn't exactly the authority on Batman. Frank Miller thought that just because he had written a couple of amazing Batman comics before, he could get away with putting his hard-boiled crap on Batman. I mean, this is the same comic with the infamous "I'm the god-damn Batman" line. Not exactly classic material.

I said better "Batman voice" not better Bruce Wayne. Also "whole theatre" is an exaggeration. But I certainly heard alot of people laughing, causing other people to laugh aswell.

@Jrinswand.

It was the most recent example I could think of without turning pages of graphic novels from my collection.

Isn't it kind of irrelevant who plays Batman in any Batman film? The character is fairly boring. It's the villains who are the stars.

It doesn't matter if he is an actor or not. What matters is that PEOPLE (I.E. anyone) can make mistakes. When you only focus on the negative, that is all you will find. Just because you don't like someone does not mean you have to attack them every chance you get. And hating someone for yelling at someone in an incident that doesn't involve you whatsoever.........That just makes you a small person. Don't like his movies? Fine. Express yourself at a movie site.

Christian Bale is a shitty actor. He did one movie that he was good in and that was Empire of the Sun.

He did a fantastic job in American Psycho.

Acting is difficult. I don't know how many people have experience beyond middle school christmas plays, but the level of acting that most Hollywood stars perform at involves either extremely good focus and intellectual fabrication, or something called Method Acting, which involves immersing oneself, psychologically, into the scene and character to the point where the defining line between 'true self' and 'character' can fade and become indistinguishable. Being pulled in and out of such a psychosis could cause elevated emotional and stress levels. Ironically, another famous actor who performed method acting died not too long ago: Heath Ledger. Costar of Christian Bale in the film, The Dark Knight. See a connection?

Why are you guys bitching about the "Batman growl"?
He was a masked vigilante who was attempting to mask his voice and make it seem menacing. You try it without whispering too low or sounding silly.

Stop being such dweebs.

BTW - several people reported that Bale subsequently apologized to the guy he was yelling at, despite that it was the 3rd or 4th time the guy had fucked up the scene by adjusting lights DURING SHOOTING. (A huge no-no in Hollywood land). SO I'm giving the guy some slack in that we all have our bad days and loose our cool sometimes.

Personally I believe the whole "Christian Bale got pissed" story is a sad story. Not because he blew up in someones face. It happens when you're very frustrated and with family members trying to take his money and this being discussed in all medias I can understand the frustration. But because of some sad people lacking the empathy needed to feel for him and thereby not laugh when he expresses he feels bad. Shame on everybody who finds the Christian Bale insident funny and shame on anybody who tries to exploit it.

You know what, Sly Cooper? What you typed about trolling is hypocritical. Would you want to be trolled? If you troll other people big time, they'll most likely get back at you. Why, there are pretty nasty non-trolls on the Internet. And if you really them tick off, they won't hesitate to chew you out.
