It's also available on Netflix instant watch, fyi. Some of the user reviews I read are pretty negative but I guess I'll give it a whirl.

Lots of movies i love have somewhat negatives reviews. Guess i just love bad movies. To keep it gaming related i saw the Max Payne movie the other day. Thought it was pretty decent. Though other then the characters and one or tow other things it didn't have much to do with the game.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Interested intro but it practically stayed that way the entire movie. Absolutely horrible ending and just a waste of time.

After the movie was over I looked over at my kid brother and was like "What?" Just that first 10 minutes of awesome brawler, dark cave dweller badass stops right there at 10 minutes. After that the environmental novelty wears off and it becomes an annoyance and a hindrance to watch. Save yourself the 2 hours...story isn't even worth it.

It's on Netflix Instant Queue so at least watch it for free if you have Netflix. I rated it a 2 star because it at least had me going for a few glimpses of the movie.

World's Greatest Dad was delightfully dark. I'm so glad that Williams took a chance with this one as opposed to sticking with the family friendly crap that he's been so sucked up in lately.

since the joystiq writers tend to watch the JBO posts, i figure this is a decent post to ask this question on. was there a webcomic wrapup this week? or did PAX take up too much time to do one this week? it's cool if there wasn't one, i would just like to know if it never came, or if i just missed it.

Yeah, it looks like there wasn't one due to PAX-related issues.

$39.99 for I Love You, Man Blu and $44.99 Adventureland? C'mon Joystiq, we're smarter than that!

My Old Kentucky Home is, by far, the best episode of Mad Men, yet.

Just to hear Peggy say the words "I am SO high!" is a priceless moment. But watching that little weasel dance was just beyond uncomfortable. And I've gotten to the point where watching this show always makes me wanna chug down a few Old Fashioned's.

And Joan playing that accordian, sounding like a naughty French girl... :)

(And yes, I just spoiled a good portion of that episode..)

Adventureland was fantastic. It's a shame that it left theatres about as soon as it arrived... hopefully it'll gain much more recognition through DVD/Bluray/digital distribution.

Tried watching Mad Men episode 1 tonight, it was boring as hell. Does this show get better? If the rest is like the first ep I'll pass.

No. But it's fairly obvious why the show holds such favor amongst white men.

You guys failed to mention Stardust, which was based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name. The movie is actually pretty good.

Devil May Cry Complete (the anime) came out on Blu-ray a week or two ago, but I just got my copy from Amazon a few days ago. It was only around $30, too! :)

If you're going out, be sure to see "(500) Days of Summer," it is absolutely fantastic.

@ whylecat

Yes- it has Dante, Trish, & Lady in it and each episode is self-contained. It doesn't follow the story of any of the games, but it's definitely taking place in the same world, if that helps. :)

Eden Log sounds interesting, thanks for the tip.

But as far as perfect premises for video games go, Battle Royale would be the ultimate game. Just imagine the possibilities in multiplayer games, with exploding necklaces, dead zones, random weapon in backpack, temporary alliances, backstabbing... The perfect game.

"Batgirl: Year One Motion Comics (9 issues, SD, $1.99 per issue)"

What?!!?! Is Superman Red Son out yet?

"However, in 2003 Scott Beatty and Chuck Dixon decided to bring back the costumed version of Gordon, and now you can enjoy the retcon in digital form."

It wasn't a retcon it was a retelling of her early time as Batgirl.

Is that number correct? 840 points to rent the HD version of "World's Greatest Dad"? That's over $10 to rent one movie. I'm not sure what's worse, that they're charging that much or that you guys are recommending people pay it.

Yeah, that's the correct price. The deal is that it's a near day-in-date with the theatrical release, hence the higher price.
