Red Steel 2 director would 'love' to see series on 360, PS3

Here's hoping Ubisoft decides to throw us more than a deluge of Rabbids once the 360 and PS3 climb aboard the motion control bandwagon.

if this game came bundled with a motion controller i would be really happy day one buy for me.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:23PM
I doubt they would bundle it with a motion controller because it is not a property that is owned by Sony. I think they would be more likely to bundle one of their own titles with the controller as a way of saying "Hey, this is why we're awesome".
If they redid the engines for Red Steel and Red Steel 2 and bundled them for $40-$50 I would immediately jump on it.
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 8th 2009 6:25PM
well, tiger woods '10 did get bundled with a motion plus thing, so it's not impossible.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:28PM
Good point. I'm not completely downplaying the possibility, I just don't see it likely. Mainly due to the fact that the Sony Motion Controller will be a new addition to the lineup, so Sony is probably going to want to push as much of their own content onto it as they can.
It's the same thing Nintendo did when the Wii came out. People were not quite sure how to handle the technology until games like Super Mario Galaxy were able to lead the way.
samfish (uses the Joystiq Comment-Kill filter!) @ Sep 8th 2009 10:02PM
It's already confirmed that RS2 is being bundled with WM+.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 6:05PM
This game is also bundled with motion+ correct? I would much rather buy this and get my motion+ than WSR. It looks 100 times better than the first Red Steel.
nofriendo @ Sep 8th 2009 6:42PM
hopefully its the first decent sample of 1:1 motion control.
(WSR sword fighting was pretty fun though.)
The Aquacharger (PSN:Elvenmonk) @ Sep 8th 2009 7:11PM
It's not that hard to make a game better then Red Steel 1. Hopefully they learned and focused a lot more on controls this time.
DBuck_Eye @ Sep 8th 2009 7:53PM
Wait a minute. Judges? Why yes! Tmac just complimented a game on the Wii!
NoughtSoClever @ Sep 8th 2009 9:12PM
Yeah, but his compliment insulted another Wii game affectively cancelling each other out. Though in his defense, RS1 was a big piece of shit.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 9:19PM
Wait, what did I insult? Wii Sports Resort? You know, not everyone likes casual games. I didn't say it sucked or anything about it, just that I would rather buy the Red Steel Bundle than that.
See, I even do things the right way and get criticized for it.
NoughtSoClever @ Sep 8th 2009 9:25PM
My bad T. I was just joking around. I don't have anything against you. I was just saying that the compliment that RS2 looked 100X better than RS1 could be considered an insult against RS1 therefore nullifying the Wii compliment.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 9:27PM
...oh. It really did suck though, friend of mine brought it over when he bought a Wii at launch. It was hideous to watch.
NoughtSoClever @ Sep 8th 2009 9:34PM
Agreed. A friend of mine and I tried to do some death matching. It was reprehensible. Luckly, the game was so bad that it was funny and we had a good laugh then turned that shit off and played some Gears.
Cody @ Sep 8th 2009 9:42PM
"Luckly, the game was so bad that it was funny and we had a good laugh then turned that shit off and played some Gears."
And then pounded some Mtn Dews right?!?!? AMIRITE?!?! Broski touch fist don't leave me hangin!!
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 9:45PM
Cody, most of us have seen your myspace. You are the LAST person to be re-enforcing stereotypes in your comments.
NoughtSoClever @ Sep 8th 2009 11:46PM
I'm no broski. More of a fat nerdski. I don't even think I own a polo shirt or pair of flip flops.
Pantsparty @ Sep 8th 2009 6:06PM
I'm not sure how well it would do on 360 and PS3. Isn't the whole gimmick the motion control?
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 6:08PM
You didn't read past the headline did you? It's ok, we're all guilty of it every now and then.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:11PM
Don't listen to tmac.
The idea is that the port would work it's way into Natal + PS3 Motion support.
Longhorn Slim @ Sep 8th 2009 6:30PM
You two is still fighting? I guess the stiq has its first married couple
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:32PM
I'm not fighting with anyone, I was just answering Pantsparty's question.
There was no need for a smartass comment to someone who wasn't sure.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 6:35PM
I'm not fighting with anyone here, in too much of a good mood.
Pantsparty @ Sep 8th 2009 6:51PM
My bad, I see something Wii related and kinda trail off. Maybe I shouldn't comment on things I didn't read...
sony boy (6 years til sony man child!) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:53PM
damn, you two should go on oprah and discuss.
NoughtSoClever @ Sep 8th 2009 9:15PM
RE: PS3 Motion Controller Red Steel vs 360 Natal Red Steel...
Fake sword > Imaginary sword
neveauxor @ Sep 8th 2009 6:09PM
would love to see call of duty modern warefare 2 on the wii, but i guess infinity ward doesn't feel the same way.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 6:11PM
After how bad MW 1 looks on Wii you want more? I admire your dedication at least.
[ArchiGamer] @ Sep 8th 2009 6:20PM
Ahhhhh, no.
Mr Khan @ Sep 8th 2009 6:20PM
If it were well-done, but that's never going to happen. Western studios will continue their antipathy towards Wii. They don't need it (not really a bash, either, they do quite well without it), and it doesn't need them.
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 8th 2009 6:26PM
yeah, judging by how bad MW1 looks on wii, i think it's best to just forget completely about getting MW2 on wii.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:10PM
Now all we need is No More Heroes.

So funny!
Special Agent Steve @ Sep 8th 2009 6:16PM
I lol'd.
Solace @ Sep 8th 2009 6:13PM
I remember when the PS3 motion controller was first announced I said I'd love to see this game on the PS3 all the Wii fan boys down voted me so fast.
I'd love to see this game on the PS3.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:19PM
I think this game could benefit a lot by being on the PS3.
Possibly a multiplayer mode?
It would be difficult to bring to Natal unless some sort of peripheral was included.
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 8th 2009 6:21PM
But with Natal couldn't you theoretically use anything in your house that resembles a sword?
[ArchiGamer] @ Sep 8th 2009 6:24PM
Like a remote?
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:25PM
I think it is too soon to say because so few people actually know the limitations of Natal (if any). I'm just basing my opinion on the facts that I understand to be true.
WREturns(There was once a dream called Rome) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:46PM
I have a sword. Is it safe to say that that will work with Natal?
Special Agent Steve @ Sep 8th 2009 6:48PM
"I have a sword. Is it safe to say that that will work with Natal?"
I don't think that's safe at all. Instead of a broken T.V you'd have a sliced kitten.
WREturns(There was once a dream called Rome) @ Sep 8th 2009 6:52PM
If there's a kitten in my house then it's an intruder and if there's an intruder in my house then it's getting sliced.
nofriendo @ Sep 8th 2009 6:57PM
Shit gets sliced in my house all the time.
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 8th 2009 6:58PM
does that mean i can use an actual barrett .50 cal while sniping in MW2? that's amazing and totally safe!
right?
WREturns(There was once a dream called Rome) @ Sep 8th 2009 7:06PM
First of all, I think you're misinterpreting my use of the word "safe". I'm asking if it's reasonable to assume that Natal will recognize my sword as a sword. Second of all, you don't have a Barrett .50 cal, so it's a moot point.
nofriendo @ Sep 8th 2009 7:10PM
I think you mean its "moo," WRE.
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 8th 2009 8:05PM
how do you know that i don't have a .50 cal? it's only a measly $10,000 and it's available to the public. how do you know i'm not a multi-millionaire that can easily afford one? making assumptions isn't good, WRE. might turn you into a tmac.
NoughtSoClever @ Sep 8th 2009 9:23PM
I wouldn't quite say it's reasonable to assume you could hold up a stick and have Natal recognize it. That is the claim they are making, but I have yet to see anything other than the racecar driving thing and the silly dodge ball thing on Jimmy Fallon. The PS3, on the other hand, have already shown a tech demo of a sword. Please send a link if there is a Natal demo out there that I missed.
johnnynumber5 @ Sep 8th 2009 11:57PM
I wish an FN P90 SMG was available to the public. No way in hell I would buy that cheap looking PS90 variant with the long barrel and (obviously) semi automatic action. I would rather buy an M4 variant than that ugly ass PS90 bullshit. Why in the hell anyone would actually want a Barrett .50 Caliber is beyond me. It's a novelty that isn't even any fun to shoot and the ammo is out of this world expensive ... if you don't get the cheap stuff anyway. I haven't shot that actual gun mind you but I've fired somewhat similar "sniper"/anti-material rifles. Now, that new XM500 is another story completely. I love that bullpup design for those long range anti material rifles. But, I'm also partial to the P90 which sort of popularized that particular design. It's so much more practical than having some big ass banana hanging out the bottom. I'm mostly a handgun type anyway ...
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 9th 2009 6:16PM
"Why in the hell anyone would actually want a Barrett .50 Caliber is beyond me. It's a novelty that isn't even any fun to shoot and the ammo is out of this world expensive ... if you don't get the cheap stuff anyway."
1. a lot of gun enthusiasts love the barrett .50 cal.
2. the gun actually is fun to shoot according to quite a few people who have used it. i for one think a .50 sniper rifle is hilarious (because it's major overkill for human sniping, and for anti-materiel, there are much better weapons).
3. it dominates in COD4 online (i know, that's irrelevant) and that makes it a worthwhile gun.
