Deal of the weeks are still pretty damn shitty. They have the power to do so much, yet do so little

The problem on Microsoft's end is that they think they can mark down DLC for a three-year old title that no one plays and call it a good deal. The problem on the community's end is that they expect something that's maybe two weeks old to be marked down to a dollar before they even suggest they're satisfied. Fuck 'em both.

I do think things are picking up on MS's end, though; I'll probably bite on Lode Runner and Pinball FX, and *maybe* the GHWT DLC if it's anything good (probably not).

That's because Microsoft has to even be cheap, with their virtual money as well.

MS could stand to learn from Steam in this regard (since their weekend deals were clearly the inspiration) - take something people can really dig, and mark it down to such a degree that you'd have to be a fool not to take it. That way, a title that may not have been selling too well gets a 3200% sales boost, making far more money than it would have done anyway.

Pinball FX is good but gets old very fast. Unless you're a big pinball fan I'd suggest saving your money for something else.

If you do get it though, hook up your vision camera and you can see your reflection in the ball. Pretty cool feature.

Yeah, these "deals" suck ass. Anyone who buys a Games on Demand title is contributing to a really really bad precedent.

There's been a couple of decent deal of the weeks, and this is one of them. Puzzle Quest for 400 points is an awesome deal, and it's clear already that it's seen a massive spike in sales. I plan on getting it later today when they put up Sonic & Knuckles.

So hopefully they learn when they hack down the good games, more people buy it.. but when they discount crap content, nobody cares.

And has anybody else noticed the Xbox "My Way" channel? At first I thought it was a customisable room, similar to Home. But it just seems to be pointless shortcuts.. Hmm.

Hopefully it's a trophy. I'm sick of not getting any trophies for games. I mean, not even Shadow Complex, a first party arcade title, had avatar trophies. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

The only title that has them right now is 'Splosion Man, right?

I was hoping Forza 3 would have Avatar awards. Now there's going to be a Forza 3 store on the Avatar Marketplace, I'm not sure if that makes it more or less likely to happen. I thought it'd be nice if you actually got little trophies, wreathes (like in the old days of racing) or even bottles of champagne.

Splosion Man doesn't even have them yet, according to the developers, they're just waiting for MS to upload the patch. I'd put a safe bet on them holding it back to make ODST the first game to support the awards.

Forza does say it comes with a free avatar shirt, so it's possible that's an award. But it could just be like the Beatles, where it's a free code in the box. I don't see why that wasn't an award either..

Funny? The universe itself would break a little from the simultaneous screams of fanboy rage, followed by the collapse of the internet as every fanboy feels the need to express said rage with excessive swearing while hidden behind their anonymity.

Wait a sec... that would be funny.

If you like pinball, get pinball fx. It's awesome. So is the one on psn.

Now, are those fable 2 episodes new content, or just the original game hacked into sections?

Yeah, though it does have a bit of a learning curve. My friend and I just dlw'ed the demo, and after we learnt the basics we were like, "shit...this is an awesome game." lol. I might dl it from GOD( not the divine figure, I mean microsofts games on demand lol)

I've picked up a couple things as Deals of the Week: Bionic Commando: Rearmed and recently Episode 2 of the Penny-Arcade game. It's just a deal to get people that maybe missed it the first time around or thought it was a bit pricey the first time around. Puzzle Quest is a good one... I already have it though... but I would certainly be amenable to a deal on Galactrix.

It's kind of a bummer seeing the whole month in advance and not seeing anything you want...

MS said from the very start (Xmas last year) that their plan with avatar clothing was to start off with some free new stuff, then move on to stuff you have to pay for.

F*** free stuff, how about MS (or whoever does it) gets their head in the game and let's me change the freakin' colors on the clothes you can put on avatars.

I was skimming through the avatar marketplace on a whim and noticed that there's an Adidas store that of all things has a jacket that looks EXACTLY like the one I wear...except it's like fire engine red or something.

Would it be so hard to have a little color wheel available to change just the basic color of the clothing? Because I will admit had I been able to make that jacket blue I would've been all over it in an instant.

As it is? Forget it. Lacking a color change feature makes it near impossible to come up with anything half way decent looking without looking like the other however million Xbox users.

But what's up with the "Top 10 DLC Songs from GHWT"? Top ten SONGS? Why not the top 10 track packs?

Sometimes, I think to myself "Xbox Live really is an amazing experience", and then other times I say "This is getting on my nerves to where this is just terrible." Whether it's that little reminder to upgrade to Gold, which basically says "Let us rip you off!", or Major Nelson's smug face staring at me, knowing he's taking away my money. It's just one of the most annoying things.

I was excited to see Lode Runner, but now I see it's only dropping from 1200 -> 800 and that's a FAIL.

400 and then I'll snag it. Let's see who flinches first, Microsoft. =D

Pinball FX is a decent game, I picked it up years ago. The worst part about it is that the table in the demo - the Speed table - is the best table. The Skateboard table is horrible, and the Spy table is very open but I can never get half the missions or "Informant" stuff to start or work right.

The Street Fighter DLC table is pure awesome though.
