Need for Speed: Shift video highlights Car Battle mode

We've been following the last quarter-mile of Need for Speed: Shift's race to release and this latest video should delight those of you with 40 weight oil in your veins. The video focuses on the Car Battle mode, which pits two racers against each other to settle the dispute of who has the better auto. Of course this doesn't apply if your car has a Mr. Fusion. In that case, you automatically win.

While I am not a fan of the Forza series, I'll admit that it will likely be quite good.

@ DeepFriedSushi: I think you'll find Bugatti own the Veyron, not Turn 10. It's in GT5 too from all accounts.

That looked pretty slick. It seems like a cool idea, but I still feel like I'll be picking up other racing games like Blur, Dirt 2, and Gran Turismo. When this comes out, the reviews are welcome to prove me wrong, however.

i liked underground, but what i really want is Hot Pursuit 3. i put in so many laps on Hot Pursuit 2 for PS2 it was ridiculous...

Was it just me or did NFS just try to rebrand a typical exhibition race as a "Car Battle" which is pretty much what a one on one race normally is anyway........nice try EA -10 points for you and back to the naughty corner........i'd still take blur over shift for the time being.

Im just going to sit back and watch the youtube videos and reviews. Then ill decide to buy it. I almost made the mistake of buying Undercover.

I hope they release Hot Pursuit 3 on day. Thats what i want. No City but just fantasy tracks with different terrains. I missed the old days. I still have Hot Pursuit for pc and i still luv the game.

This is what NFS needs. To go back to its true roots. I dont need a huge city to run around in. I need what NFS did great.

Shift looks pretty fun to me but I'm that type that doesn't really love too many racing games. Burnout is probably my favorite racing series. I'm a scrub.

God, how many crappy decals can you stick on a car?

Granted I have way more faith in this game than any nfs in a long time, but you can tell the cars are blocky and the aforementioned decals are likely to hide the reflections used in the game that are primitive and a bit crap next to older Forza and Gran Turismo titles.

Atleast it will be better looking then any pathetic trip Codemasters comes out with. DX11, is a sorely wasted tool only used for marketing by their type.

Satn, I feel sorry for you that you think real race cars must have nasty decals plastered all over them. But I should probably forgive you as well because you were most likely a stain in your daddy's sheets when "real race cars" started becoming mobile adverts.
