That is exactly what I like to hear about a multiplayer game.

I hope that it doesn't lag too much for us in NZ though....

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing, also a NZ'er wondering about how this game will hold up. This game wasn't even on my radar before, but the more news I hear about it the more interesting it seems.

i dunno, i have a strange feeling that there will be problems, just like every other major online release. that's probably just the pessimist in me, though.

I don't think so. The servers are fine and I haven't noticed any lag in the Beta. Granted the private Beta only has a few thousand people online but these multiple Beta's seem to give me in Zipper's confidence. The numbers will just keep on growing until launch.

There will be issues. They may not be worried now, but I bet at some point during the first day they will be. Developers usually say that they are experiencing some sort of problem they weren't anticipating. Because if they were anticipating it, the problem wouldn't occur.

One Series which has defined PlayStation Online and hasnt seen any respect in Sony's eye.

People like Seth Luisi who is a fucking bitch ruined the game. He said Socom: Confrontation will be everything Socom was but it was turned into a pile of trash and a game that isn't even finshed imo. Now he's on Zippers dick back again and hasnt said ONE word about all the bullshit he spited out to just get people to buy Socom: Confrontation. Makes me sick to see his face promoting this game. I wish all the best to Zipper but they should be smarter than have that guy on the PlayStation Blog promoting their game.

so i'll just assume you meant halo. what's so wrong with halo? don't say it's been milked too much, because 3 main games which have been released and 2 unreleased side games don't count as milking.

I love my FPS games, but i also hate dual-analog controls, heck i had to force myself to finish the Halo games, not because it was hard for me to want to finish them, but because the barbaric controls made the games a chore to play, any dual-analog FPS has been the same for me. But at the same time, i'm keen for a Ps3 at the new price point (especially when i found out Dantes Inferno is multiplatform, why did i think it was 360 exclusive?) and this MAG looks to be far too intriguing for me to pass up, despite the controls. Very keen!

what's with all the mouse elitists? how is dual analog barbaric? sniping is a lot more fun because you actually need skill. you can't just point and click, you actually need precise aim.

I guess sitting and sniping would need more skill, but the extra skill is only needed because of the innaccuracies of an analog stick. I'm not just a mouse elitist. My best run-through time of RE4 was 2 hours 21 mins on the GC. When i FIRST tryed the same run-through on the Wii version after adjusting to the controls (and i didnt even have the handcannon for bosses), i beat that time by 15 minutes, just because the controls were far more accurate.

If movement was mapped to the D-Pad, it would be closer to WASD, and i'd probably adjust better despite the accuracy of an analog stick. For some reason i just was never able to adjust to using 2 analog sticks at the same time, when my mind is concentrating on the accuracies of 1 stick, the skill level of the 2nd declines significantly. Hence why KB/Mouse, Wiimote/Nunchuck and even the N64 controller have been for me, far more accurate and intuitive than using 2 analog sticks at once. Just my preference i guess.

Em I don't think its the dual analog controls fault that you cant handle using 2 sticks at once.

analog movement is much more accurate than WASD. and speaking for myself, mouse sniping is insanely boring since you can aim perfectly within 1 second and get a perfect headshot. same with shotguns. the extra effort to aim decently makes it more fun for me. although, i see how KB/mouse would be better for single player on hard difficulties.

How is analog movement more accurate than WASD? With WASD, you have 3 fingers there, on thier own directions, instantly able to change directions and move about easily. With an analog stick, you have a single thumb having to move around the entire stick in whatever direction to get any movement. WASD is a far far quicker and more accurate.

Oh yea, that big heavy control stick sure is tough to flick in another direction with any sort of swiftness.

With WASD, you can only move in 8 directions, relative to what you're looking at. With a stick you can move in any direction at any given time.

Lol Wired. I know its no effort to move the analog stick, its just faster and more responsive with WASD. Also, really, noone needs more than 8 directions, and i cant honestly thing of anyone who is co-ordinated enough to accurately move in more than 8 directions with an analog stick, and at the same time, aim accurately with the 2nd? You can't say you often change between moving at a 271 degree angle while aiming up and shooting an enemy in the sky, then switching to a 60 degree movement to get behind cover. Through my own experiences with dual analog, its too hard to do, with your mind concentrating on aiming accurately, the mind instinctivly will only move in those general 8 directions anyway....which is faster on keyboard. Heck i actually find movement easier with the nunchuck thanks to its octagonal ring around the analog stick. This is just what i've found through my own experience.

No, WASD is the barbaric control here. A primitive keyboard with buttons that equal on or off, and there is no variation between them. You might as well have an Atari 2600 joystick in your left hand because that's what WASD is and it has the exact same range of motion.

Dual analog gives you subtle movement, degrees of movement, in a full range of directions. Sorry you can't handle the PS3 or an Xbox controller, but most of us long-time console players have no trouble with it.

i guess you don't know any people who can use their fingers half decently.

"You can't say you often change between moving at a 271 degree angle while aiming up and shooting an enemy in the sky, then switching to a 60 degree movement to get behind cover."

ever heard of a dropshot? that's what most skilled call of duty players know how to do. that's moving and shooting at an enemy, then dropping and adjusting your aim within a millisecond to get an easy kill. that's harder than what you said, and it's a common move.

I guess anyone with enough practice with anything can get to be quite skilled with it, tho i do think that if the 10 best COD4 PC players were able to play cross-platform with the 10 best COD4 360/Ps3 players...it would be a total decimation of the console team. That being said, i am looking forward to the size and scope of MAG and i'm willing to deal with the controls to play it.

IMO, on PC, the two teams would be evenly matched since KB/mouse is easy to get used to. but if they were playing on consoles, the PC team would get destroyed and teabagged repeatedly since KB/mouse to dual analog would take some serious time to get used to.

LMAO useedems. Noone on the planet is co-ordinated enough to concentrate on using the subtle degrees of analog movement on 2 analog stick at the same time and still concentrate on everything happening on screen. Hence my point earlier. During accurate aiming, the mind usually leaves the left analog stick to move in about 8 different directions instinctively, increasing concentration on the on-screen action and right-analog stick accuracy. If you want slower movement on a PC, you just use your pinky on the 'slow-walk' button, with an analog stick, you have to take your mind off the accurate aiming from the right stick to concentrate on the slight movements of the left. Next time you play a dual-anlog FPS, you'll see i'm right, you barely even concentrate on the left stick and you move instinctivly. This is why Gears works well with dual analog, cause you have to stop to shoot mostly, negating the need for much movement.

@Sly, of course the PC team would be annihilated if left with Ps3/360 controllers, but if they were given PCs to play on and cross-platform played the console players, the console players would be destroyed.

ahh, cross-platform! you should have just said that!

and no, concentrating on multiple things at once isn't impossible. you just did it when typing your comment. in most FPS, there's rarely ever a need to slowly move while shooting. the one exception i can think of are some sniper situations. usually you're running full speed, or not moving at all. so it's not hard at all.

Lol Sly, i did say cross-platform. I know concentrating on multiple things at once isn't impossible at all, i just think that concentrating on subtle movements with 2 analog sticks at the same time and on-screen action is too hard, just like you said, most people use the left analog stick for full-speed movement, just like a keyboard would. I'll get MAG anyway cause it looks awesome, and just pray for KB/Mouse support.

@Dartmerc,

So now you're going to act like an idiot and ignore someone's message (good or bad) just because of the face they've chosen for themselves? Isn't that kinda like hating Obama because he is black, or has a foreign name?

@Foetoid,

What do you think would be the outcome of a PC vs. PC match? Of course cross-system play would be biased for one side or the next (no matter how big or small the bias, someone will cry foul and ask for a redo I'm sure). What if you put them on the same platform, who do you think would win?

I'd say take the best of the COD4/H3/KZ2 crowd and put them against some of the best PC players, and it'd be a pretty amazing showdown no matter who's on what system.

Considering that Zipper is owned by Sony, I'm sure that the network technology is going to be supported all the way by Sony to be used in other future titles.

I very highly doubt there will be any transactions for the game outside of DLC, but if there are micro-transactions then Sony/Zipper just lost a sale.
