Tatsunoko is probably more comparable to DC (as opposed to Marvel), in a cultural sort of way, though.
Tekkaman, Yatterman and Gatchaman are all sort of "classic" in the same way that Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are "classic". Whereas Marvel is more...erm..."new classic".

They could have dropped Zero for someone else, seeing as there's already two Megaman characters represented.
I'm not a real Capcom head so I'm not sure who they else they could have used. Jill was in MvsC2. Why not someone from the Resident Evil series, or something?

What I like about the TvC roster is how so many of the characters are obscure ones we'll probably never see again. If they put in Dante or Leon or even Phoenix Wright i think it would have kind of ruined it.
Ha- I really latched onto that aspect of the roster, and I'm not sure why.

You probably wouldn't appreciate the Tatsunoko characters as much if you're not familiar with them. Many of them were around probably way before your time. If you're an older gamer you'll be well aware of who those characters are. Then again you can use your curiosity to do some research. Many of the Tatsunoko characters have anime DVD's out. Gatchaman in particular (G-Force here in the States and released back in the late 70's early 80's) has an updated mini-series available on DVD if you can find a copy of it! It's a pretty awesome update to the show and to the characters. It pays homage to the old 70's/80's camp of Japanese anime of that time and adds a new more updated look still retaining the original style. It's one of my personal favorites. I grew up watching a lot of Tatsunoko shows and it's nice to see that they're getting some recognition again. This game is going to be loads of fun! :)

Fiddlesticks; I was really, really hoping for some more Okami love. Yeah yeah, I know Yami is the final boss in single player and they even use The Sun Rises in the soundtrack, but come on, how awesome would it have been to have Amaterasu or Waka or even that weirdo Oki in as a playable character? So awesome. Oh, and also where the heck is Arthur?

Hmm... According to the home page of the Japanese TvC site, in traditional Capcom fashion, Capcom is re-releasing TvC in Japan. I guess that's why our version has the subtitle "Ultimate All-Stars" instead of "Cross Generation of Heroes" as they were planning on bringing the updated game to Japan.

And Zero is stupid. Never liked him. Don't see the point of him.
Point is, though, is that I didn't want another Mega Man character.
Although I'm glad they picked two characters who we'll probably never really see again, for better or worse. It stays in line with the rest of the Capcom roster, Ryu and Chun Li aside.

MvC2 had 4 Megaman characters (Classic Megaman, Classic Roll, Tron Bonne, and a standalone Servbot), so TvC having three isn't surprising.

What the hell? Yatterman and Gatchaman both have 3 characters representing their series (if Yatter 2 and Joe are indeed in the game), but other popular Tatsunoko series' don't have a single character? What a waste. Speed Racer would have kicked ass.
