The PS3 Slim packing a 250 gigabyte hard disk that was previously uncovered in FCC documents may be arriving as soon as next month -- in the UK. Eurogamer cites a "trusted retail source" who claims the new SKU will appear in three different bundles, each containing the system and one of three titles.
The site's source – who says the details of the bundles aren't yet "in writing" – goes on to divulge the games as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Gran Turismo 5 and Assassin's Creed II. Each bundle will supposedly retail for £299 ($494), which is a solid bargain given that the 120GB SKU (with no pack-in) runs £249 ($411). We've contacted SCEE and SCEA to try and find out if there's any more meat on this rumor's bones.

Who said they were?
And besides, most of them are CDs. Those work on iTunes, y'know?
And its 1441 songs for your information.
Lastly, if you don't believe that there are people who actually have shit loads of songs AND actually listen to all of them, then you have no idea of what lies in front of you.

OK listen toolbag, aka archigamer, the original discussion was regarding a 250 GB HDD to which you chimed in with your opinion " not if you saw my Itunes library". So I assumed you at least had 100 GB of space. 1500 songs is like what, 5-10 gigs of space.
So what was your original point again? Why did you even post with your crappy opinion when I was talking about 100s of gigs, and your collection only takes a few gigs at best?
Moron.

The point was that there are people who have and probably will reach about 100 GB or more, and even though with the music, movies, and tv shows I have, I haven't reached the limit, trust me if that were added with the PSN games one can download, plus photos, personal videos, and other such media people can download on to the PS3, the space would fill really quickly. Not mention the other data that is stored, like installing games like MGS4 and such, the amount of space needed increases greatly.
But I doubt you know this. If you have a PS3, you'd probably understand.

While I'm perfectly happy with my white 500GB fat PS3, this is a VERY nice offer if true. I'd love to have gotten a GT5 bundle myself if I was in the market, but the game alone will be fine ;).
Come on... please let it be October.

How sad , a few weeks ago thier was news that MS was talking or planning to release a 250gb xbox 360. most of you rushed to say why would they need one or who needs that much space .the 120gb is fine .but now that Sony is playing around with the idea or is working on it, it 's ok that would be cool we could use one.that's a great idea .all i have to say is you people are the most two faced backwood m&%^$*F^%$^%$ ,who comments i have read. just for that i hope ms makes a 320gb or 500gb just for the hell of it .(lol)

Uh.. first off, people have been bitching about that space not being needed.. look up a couple comments to see one lol. And second, most people here are looking kindly to these bundles because of the AAA titles they're rumored to include. Most of the time it's Greatest Hits titles, or only one AAA game to choose from in a bundle. This is NOT what MS typically does (or for that matter Sony), which is why it's getting good reception. The added hdd space is just icing on the cake.

I got my slim for £229.
Initially seeing this article I felt a bit meffed but then I did the math, a 250GB "2.5 SATA drive is £33 (ebuyer), which leaves £37 (enough for a chart game). Yay.
Not that I plan on changing the hard drive. I probably won't buy more than 10 games in the console's life and I don't plan on using the console for storing media.
