Plan your TGS 2009 adventure with this show floor map
Tokyo Game Show 2009 is only two weeks away and we've finally caught a glimpse of what to expect thanks to (a supposed leak from) Konami. Today, the house that built Metal Gear revealed the TGS show floor map on its special event website, before the outline for the upcoming event was detailed by the group organizing it. While most of the map is labeled in Japanese, major booths can be spotted. Microsoft is situated near Square Enix, which is across from Sony's main booth.
Other details for the event have been slowly trickling out over the last few weeks, and hopefully we'll know more before the event begins on September 24. Make sure to keep refreshing Joystiq throughout TGS 2009, as we cover the event live from Tokyo.

I was so excited about going to TGS last year, but i gotta say it was underwhelming.
Queuing hours to play 10 minutes of RE4 wasn't the best idea, and there was a surprising lack of things to see and do. I came to the conclusion that 10 minutes on a noisy show-floor isn't the best way to get into a game.

I feel like there's a new trade show every month.

Only thing new about the shows taking place lately is the Swine Flu.
Wes @ Sep 11th 2009 12:45PM
Oh god, don't bring up the Swine Flu. Swine Flu is sooo overrated. 36,000 people die every year in the US alone from complications from the regular flu. Less than 1,000 people have died WORLD WIDE from the bigggg baddd swinnneee flu. Yes, 1/36th of the US's annual flu deaths have occured. Quite kids! Get into the bunkers.
Nevermind the fact that your almost infinitely more likely to die form getting hit by a drunk driver any given day than the swine flu. Unless of course, your one of the many Joystiq gamers in their mid 80s who are out of shape with heart and breathing conditions. After all, those are the only types who have been affected so far. Pre-existing medical conditions.

I'm not big on japanese games anymore as most of you know, but if Sony could reveal Dark Cloud 3...that'd make the whole show for me

I like how Nintendo's booth is called
NTT DOOOOMD
I'd also like to point out Sega has a pretty big booth... although they usually do
Andrew Yoon @ Sep 11th 2009 10:26AM
Nintendo does not have a presence at TGS. Instead, that's NTT DOCOMO.
draco @ Sep 11th 2009 11:09AM
oh,
That's good to know I guess... not early as amusing though :(

I went in 2007, the show was amazing. I went again last year though, but it was horrible in comparison. The fun-police were everywhere to dampen your spirits; jumping in front of your camera or just lecturing you. I won't be going again this year
