Rock Band Stage Kit compatibility not being patched into The Beatles: Rock Band
Owners of the Rock Band Stage Kit must accept that the device will not be compatible with The Beatles: Rock Band. Harmonix has confirmed to Joystiq that there are "no plans to patch it for The Beatles: Rock Band." As to whether the device will be compatible with future editions of Rock Band, a company rep stated, "We haven't announced any future titles at this time."
There's been some back and forth on the Rock Band forums about whether the smoke machine and disco ball-ish device -- originally $100 (but cheaper now) -- would be patched into The Beatles game. We hope this settles it -- not that you have a choice, apparently.
[Thanks, Jeremy F]

I didn't even know this shit existed. What's the point in having this anyways when it comes to the Beatles. We all know they used completely different smoke machines.

The first time I saw that the first thing I thought was 'how is stupid enough to buy this'
Looks like a quite few, apparently.

Well if you have the extra coin and you want to spend it on this then hakuna matata.
Kyle @ Sep 11th 2009 4:43PM
This looks like more of a ghostbusters accessory.

Don`t cross the...
Forget it.
The Baron @ Sep 11th 2009 4:44PM
OK, that alone makes me wish I'd bought the thing on 360.
The Baron @ Sep 11th 2009 5:42PM
*not this piece of news, that (sort-of) awesome stage kit.
REIGN x 777 @ Sep 11th 2009 4:46PM
Looks like I'm not buying Beatles: Rock Band then
MystileArmor @ Sep 11th 2009 4:52PM
Really, you're not buying it cause you can't smoke up your own living space while being all fucking Disco Stu-ing up your shit.
You're entitled to your opinions, but they're stupid opinions never the less.
Jeremy White @ Sep 11th 2009 5:00PM
I'm willing to bet Reign's post was a joke but at least MystileArmor was there to ruin it with his incredible wit.
Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Sep 11th 2009 5:01PM
I'm pretty sure he was joking.
REIGN x 777 @ Sep 11th 2009 5:24PM
Mystile. Really. Really?
MystileArmor @ Sep 11th 2009 5:28PM
Sarcasm detector is broken... actually it just ran out of batteries, since I used all of 'm for my smoke machine and disco ball.
Ankur @ Sep 11th 2009 9:29PM
what happens when the lights cross?
Storm Eagle [Resident Capcom Megafan] @ Sep 11th 2009 4:50PM
Still not cheap enough.
I think the best part about that accessory though is that the lights actually pulsate to the rhythm of the song you're playing.
HazyCloud @ Sep 11th 2009 4:56PM
30 new at Gamestop isn't cheap enough? I bought one long ago for 40 off the 'ol eBay and it was the best 40 I had spent in a long time.
If you haven't used one, you've gotta give them a try. It really adds to the RB experience.
LocalToast @ Sep 11th 2009 4:51PM
The only special effects you need are LSD and Dreamscapes.
[ArchiGamer] @ Sep 11th 2009 4:52PM
And pot.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 11th 2009 4:58PM
Why would you need pot when you have LSD?
Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Sep 11th 2009 5:03PM
Lucy in the Skyyy of Diamonds.

I picked up on that error also Mystile, but before I corrected him I thought to myself, "Do we really expect someone tripping on LSD to get 100% on vocals?"
LocalToast @ Sep 11th 2009 5:46PM
Yes. Yes, we do.

Listen to the song again, it's definitely "in".
Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Sep 13th 2009 8:26PM
Yeah... I downvoted myself. Right after I posted it, I realized how dumb that was.

Is Harmonix planning on selling me an authentic Rock Band Roadie, who lives in the corner of my living room, ready to set up my fake stage at a moments notice? Am I gonna need the official Rock Band Road Van/Equipment Trailer to start carting all this crap to a friends house to rock out?
HazyCloud @ Sep 11th 2009 5:05PM
It wasn't HMX who released this. It was PDP.
Viney @ Sep 11th 2009 5:09PM
It wasn't intended to be taken seriously. It was a joke.
But in any case, they licensed it out, so they're still involved.
bongoes the Black Lantern @ Sep 11th 2009 6:48PM
I have a roadie. It's my younger brother.
Saint Cornelius @ Sep 11th 2009 5:06PM
I have it. It's awesome. Haters be damned.
Eric @ Sep 11th 2009 5:11PM
My mom bought this for my sister last Christmas and if you play Rock Band as a group or at parties it's actually pretty neat.
It's kind of disappointing the thing won't work with Beatles Rock Band.
Faceman @ Sep 11th 2009 6:41PM
I shat on this when it was first announced as well but did some research on it in the hopes of outshining my friend's rival GH setup. The smoke machine kinda sux b/c the smoke liquid will run out in 30 min. but the lights are synchronized with the music, makin the experience a lil cooler. When this hits $40, I'm so gettin it..
VaultICEE @ Sep 11th 2009 8:47PM
I LOVE the Stage Kit. I recently had a Rock Band party and a lot of the guests thought it was a neat touch. The lights on the machine sync up with the lights going on in game, so its pretty neat.
I only expected the Stage Kit to not work with The Beatles.
Leisure Larry @ Sep 11th 2009 10:13PM
I was just about to buy that for BEATLES! Thanks for the warning!
Nate @ Sep 18th 2009 5:55PM
I won't buy it either then. I was going to but it pisses me off when they don't make everything work with all their future products. Like why do I have to keep buying the same songs for each new installment of the game for DLC? It should all be portable once you've bought it. And PS3 instrument compatiblity is a joke between GH and RB.
