Nintendo's DSiWare platform is set to become a bit more combustible later this fall -- according to AndriaSang, the Japanese release list in the latest edition of Famitsu reveals an October launch for Itsudemo Bomberman (which translates to Bomberman Anytime) on the handheld's download service. The magazine also lists a price of 500 DSi Points ($5) for the portable title.
Hudson hasn't taken the trouble of actually announcing Itsudemo Bomberman yet -- regardless, we've contacted them to see what, if any, details we can surmise about the game.
[Thanks, Fernando.]

Yeah, forget it. Ever try to get into a multiplayer bomberman match using any of the ds games that are cross compatible? There's never anyone there.

I might get this if Hudson puts up some videos or a demo.

Aren't those games just mini-game compilations? I think they have an excuse to not be in there.

I got an idea: Let's make something new for the DS. No more recycled crap, something NEW. I'm just thankful that we have Scribblenauts coming out on Tuesday.

The DS is brimming with innovative and new titles; example - http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75155
In all seriousness, you're loony if you're trying to suggest that the DS catalog is mostly all recycled material and doesn't offer tons and tons of innovative games. The attitude I'm picking up from your comment is that there isn't any quality new/innovative games coming out for the system. Loony toons.

I love Bomberman, but this formula has to be the most archaic in the gaming industry.
Here's a spoiler. There will be bombs.

yes, they really should reinvent bomberman. perhaps as a T-rated game for the 360 with more realistic visuals. that would be awesome!!

Naw, that would be stupid.
They should just give him a gun, add a morality system, and make him say "damn" over and over.
Pure GOTY material right here.

Do I have to mention "Act Zero"?
I really think Satan himself forged that game.

I'd love to see another GOOD Bomberman adventure, I really liked Bomberman 64... not sure if anyone else did though. The multiplayer on it was excellent nonetheless.

I loved Bomberman 64. Still have it. The memory unit on the cartridge is starting to go bad, though.
Single-player was definitely superior, though the multiplayer left mixed feelings. The open movement doesn't work well, but i do love that that was one of the few Bomberman games (if the only, not sure), that gave you bomb kick and bomb throw by default in multiplayer.

I loved all three of the N64 Bomberman games. Something more in line with those would be geat.
I had rented Generations for GameCube, and it was pretty similar to that... And I got Jetters (it was $8 new), and the single-player felt a bit lacking. Multiplayer is always a blast, though.

Is there really that big an audience for Bomberman nowadays? I was never in on the initial craze, and trying to get into after that has never really worked out for me. But yet they continue to churn out more Bombermans, sweet buttery milky Bombermans.
Posted: Sep 13th 2009 9:44PM Special Agent Steve said
:P. Look up.
Oh, and me too. So that's 2. That's a big enough audience right?

Bomberman is a classic game. You can get into it even if you didn't know how to play it, your cousin can get into it, your mom can get into it, and it's enjoyable.
There are TONS of people that love Bomberman.
........... what there is a LACK of, are people who are willing to buy a new Bomberman AFTER their SNES/Genesis versions.
The last Bomberman I got was for the Virtual Console, and I seriously have no use for any new ones, really... they're all the same.

When was the last time you saw a picture of Bomberman? Actually, have you EVER seen a picture of Bomberman? Seriously, where have you been?
Granted, on the box art for the first game he looked like Samus, but in-game it's always been this. In terms of style, he's looked EXACTLY like this in game-art, (albeit not rendered in 3D), since at least Super Bomberman 5. That was over ten years ago. Again, I must ask... where have you been?

I want to see Super Bomberman 4 and 5 remade for the DS and released in English. I mean, they call Bomberman Ultra for PS3 the most customizable, but 4 and 5 had the most items, many of which haven't appeared again since the SNES, and those weird kangaroo-things that you could ride, and you could control the appearance rates of each item, and there were multiple characters, etc. They were just LOADED with content, the only thing is they never came out in English.
The first Bomberman game on the DS (simply titled "Bomberman") was way bland and toned down from some of the earlier games, and every game since then has been based on the same formula with MINOR changes.

I wouldn't hold my breath--we're two or three DS Bomberman games behind here. Heck, even Europe got Custom Battler Bomberman. It seems like if the gang doesn't go to a silly minigame theme park, we won't know about it.

Bomberman is best as multiplayer versus mode. I had some of the best times of the nintendo 64 playing bomberman against other people.
