I'm pretty disgusted thatTRANSFORMERS: THE GAME is considered a "hit" of any kinda.
Spike @ Sep 13th 2009 11:47AM
and you aren't disgusted that sonic 06 is on that list?
Tiptup300 @ Sep 13th 2009 12:19PM
Sonic is a "greatest hit" your argument is invalid.
Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO @ Sep 13th 2009 12:23PM
ummm not THAT Sonic...that shit is fail...
whylekat @ Sep 13th 2009 12:28PM
I didn't get that far.. Once I saw transformers I grew too disgustingly sick to continue.
SimbaDogg @ Sep 13th 2009 12:35PM
great for us ps3 guys...a whopping 11 games to choose from? jeebus h christ
Rhamsey @ Sep 13th 2009 12:39PM
I just checked the list (before reading the comments) and was about to post about that shit.
HighFiveJesus @ Sep 13th 2009 12:58PM
The ps3 list is small, but everything on it is quality.
Man theres enough dumb 360 owners buying shit games that just about anything can be a platinum hit with the right branding. its good they only put the bad ones at the bottom, its still a great list.
AND why is burn out paradise (better game) cheaper than an older burn out released years earlier?
and call of duty 2 and 3 cost the same, and still way too expensive compared to 4.
The Baron @ Sep 13th 2009 2:50PM
Well, the Burnout Paradise ultimate box came out, making all the older copies go dirt cheap.
BIGGEN (LIVE-PSN: BIGGEN1103) @ Sep 13th 2009 11:41AM
i'm sorry, but nothing on that list should be over $20.
J-Link @ Sep 13th 2009 11:47AM
This man speaks the truth, especially when those are Platinum and greatest hits editions.
SpaceFox @ Sep 13th 2009 11:49AM
Really? Not even Uncharted or Ratchet&Clank ToD? Those are both great games, I bought ToD for $60. With this deal you can get both of these for about $45. Are you mad?
BIGGEN (LIVE-PSN: BIGGEN1103) @ Sep 13th 2009 12:09PM
so are you saying you would rather pay more? ARE YOU MAD?
Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO @ Sep 13th 2009 12:10PM
Ratchet & Clank is worth more than $30
BIGGEN (LIVE-PSN: BIGGEN1103) @ Sep 13th 2009 12:14PM
i'm not talking worth as far as how good the game is. i'm talking principle. especially when you can get both on ebay for much less.
Swagman @ Sep 13th 2009 12:17PM
@ SpaceFox
Even those games. I too own them both, but they are old as fuck. No game, no matter how good they are, more than 18 months old and included on an official "greatest hits" list, should cost more than $20. Yeah, I paid $60 for Uncharted and will pay $60 for Uncharted 2 next month, but the original is still two years old, and as such, should not cost more than $20 if it is part of Sony's official Greatest Hits lineup.
On a side note, what's with the PS3 only having 11 Greatest Hits games?! WTF? The system has been out for three years, and all Sony can manage to mark down as a greatest hits, is a measly 11 games. C'mon Sony, throw us a bone. There should be at least triple that number of PS3 titles on the Greatest Hits roster.
With only eleven titles to chose from, for PS3 owners, this TRU BOGO is not much of a sale. I guess if you did not own a PS3 when they first came out and missed out on some of the earliest titles, then you could score big here, but for those of us who have been PS3 owners since the beginning, we already own almost all eleven titles on Sony's Greatest Hits roster. Now that PS3 is finally down to $300, Sony seriously needs to bulk up their line of discounted games.
Meanwhile, with over forty Platinum Hits titles to chose from, this TRU BOGO is a pretty good sale for Xbox 360 owners. There are at least half a dozen titles on that list that I'd be more than happy to pick up on discount this week. Some of them like Saints Row 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, are fairly recent.

there are a LOT of things you can get on eBay cheaper...take for instance people that Bitch about The MemorySticks that Sony Products use....a 16GB MemStick Duo in the store is $100....on eBay I've got them for just $30....fact is the GENERAL PUBLIC doesn't give a shit about how cheap something is on eBay....just how much it cost them to go pick it up in the store RIGHT NOW...
BIGGEN (LIVE-PSN: BIGGEN1103) @ Sep 13th 2009 12:28PM
so people that shop on ebay to get things cheaper aren't part of the general public? your statement makes no sense.
Jawmuncher @ Sep 13th 2009 12:34PM
I agree, the platinum and greatest hits games should be 20 rather than 30. Especially considering all the games on these lists have basically already made a profit.
I buy a lot of games when they are 60 and don't regret it but such old games are games that have sold so much and are part of the lineup I feel really shouldn't be costing 30.
Since like people have stated you can easily fine them for much cheaper online or from gamestop and such. I picked up uncharted for 24.99 at a pawn shop months before it was even announced for greatest hits
freaparn @ Sep 13th 2009 12:54PM
@Swagman
Speaking as someone who only recently picked up a PS3 Slim, R&C:ToD and MGS4 for $45 sounds pretty decent. Those are pretty much the only two PS3 exclusives I wanted to purchase rather than rent anyway.
That being said, I hear where you're coming from.
useedems @ Sep 13th 2009 2:48PM
@Biggen: No, he has a point, because the general public is a much larger group than Ebay shoppers.
carmaction @ Sep 13th 2009 3:33PM
You guys are missing the point. By 'general public', BIGGEN clearly means 'everyone who is just like him'.
Sly (PSN: SniperChameleon) @ Sep 13th 2009 9:40PM

there are certain requirements that games have to meet before becoming Greatest Hits.
Fane [A-MF Brigade] @ Sep 14th 2009 2:53AM
Also, there are actually 22 (I think) PS3 greatest hits and a number of others which are "Platinum" (EU) or "The Best" (JP) titles, but not yet NA greatest hits. SCEA has been slow to add titles to the list, though.
Shadowbender (Nelson Is Behind You) @ Sep 13th 2009 11:50AM
Saw this in the newspaper today. Toys R Us is actually a fantastic place to buy games. Apart from the fact that their selection is sometimes mediocre. But don't deny the fact that Assassin's Creed and Gears of War are amazing games.
Shadowbender (Nelson Is Behind You) @ Sep 13th 2009 11:52AM
Oh, and I like how it gives you the choice of ALL Greatest Hits and Platinum Titles.
SpaceFox @ Sep 13th 2009 11:51AM
I've been planning to pick up Uncharted soon anyways, so this is awesome news. Is this only online or in the stores also?
WhatIsThatThing @ Sep 13th 2009 11:59AM
Take a look at the article picture again.
SpaceFox @ Sep 13th 2009 12:01PM
Wow, lol. I even went on the website and looked at the advertisement and didn't notice that. Thanks, lol.
MRLN the Amazing @ Sep 13th 2009 11:55AM
After checking the lists, I can safely say that Sonic '06 is nowhere in sight.
Although there are still some questionable Platinum Hits.
Phawx @ Sep 13th 2009 12:04PM
Sweet, Im going to pick up MGS4 and Drake's Uncharted
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Sep 14th 2009 6:28AM
Easily the best two picks. Enjoy.
Alex @ Sep 13th 2009 12:10PM
Best Buy has the same deal, but with ANY game, no matter the "hit" condition.
Nate Addison @ Sep 13th 2009 12:29PM
I tried that about 30 mins before this post....that offer no longer applies...heads up to all
brizzah @ Sep 13th 2009 12:11PM
why does burnout revenge cost more then burnout paradise? not complaining, but its strange to see a title that came out a couple months after 360's launch cost more then its newer, better, and content heavy iteration.
Shadowbender (Nelson Is Behind You) @ Sep 13th 2009 2:53PM
The world can be strange.
Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO @ Sep 13th 2009 12:14PM
I wonder my PS3 games Aren't $19 when they hit "Greatest hits" status...maybe its cause the PS2 games sale for $19...
tmacairjordan87 @ Sep 13th 2009 12:23PM
$30 for a 1, 2 or even 3 year old game is unacceptable. Do yourselves a favor and get them for like $10 on Amazon or something.
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 13th 2009 1:08PM
for a 1 year old game it's fine. but 2 or 3 is too much for sure.
j.howlett @ Sep 13th 2009 12:38PM
i wish nintendo had a greatest hits. i don't want to buy used, but i don't want to pay what i paid years ago to replace what was stolen.
Jenks @ Sep 13th 2009 1:24PM
Amazon just had B2G1 on platinum hits and the prices were better to begin with.
This sale is a turd.
kevin @ Sep 13th 2009 1:28PM
what Chris D.( XBL:The Aggie CEO ) said is true ,cause i have at time have need to buy something & found that thing are cheaper on ebayw/ free shipping or not .it's just the wait . yes you all say that i can pay to have it expressed to me but at how much more ,see that is where ebay lose sales. you may find items cheap but in the end it will cost more than just going to the store . remember items in the price range of these games ,cause i see a bunch of you guy trying to make an arguement of it by buy something way below the price of these items ,just to prove it's cheaper on ebay.
Shimrra @ Sep 13th 2009 1:50PM
I know there is more games on the Sony side that are cheaper so why isnt Sony pimping those games when compared to the huge mess of games being offered on the MS side.
SpaceFox @ Sep 13th 2009 2:06PM
My friend is telling me this is for PSP greatest hits also. Is it?
From what I see, it doesnt necessarily say "PS3". Just "ALL Greatest Hits or Platinum". So....is this for PSP too?
TreyIM @ Sep 13th 2009 2:42PM
Rats, nothing on the PS3 GH list is anything I want if I don't already own it. I guess I can use my money toward NHL 10...or Need for Speed Shift on Tues after trading in NCAA Football 10 and Infamous...but should I really get rid of Infamous?? It has a special place in my heart. Hmmm. Gotta ponder this one...
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Sep 14th 2009 6:34AM
I like to trade games and since owning a ps3 I've only kept three. Uncharted, Burnout and inFamous. The other two are favourites I still play, Burnout all the time but I haven't platinumed inFamous yet, still probably keep it however because it's awesome.
TreyIM @ Sep 14th 2009 12:50PM
Yea, I own those, too, and many, many more but I think I will hang on to Infamous yet it's not the first time it almost got traded in. I was actually at GS getting Madden 10 and the other games I traded in actually covered the cost, and then some, so Infamous made the ride back home. Lol, but I do still regret, a lil, trading in RE5 that day.
Marius @ Sep 13th 2009 2:48PM
In stores only? meh
I was going to get Socom and Burnout, one to give to my brother, but not anymore
Bradwart @ Sep 13th 2009 3:02PM
I think my favorite TRU deal was the Halo 3 Legendary Edition being cleared out at 45 near the end of 2008. Sure, I already had the Limited Edition, but you can never have too many copies of great games!
jarhead906 @ Sep 13th 2009 4:11PM
I'm a huge R&C fan but for some reason Tools of Destruction didn't seem like it was worth $60. Something about the demo turned me away. It might have been the lack of comic relief that I was accustomed to in Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal.
But now I'm definitely going to get it new for this price and used depending on the store's price.
I've been playing Deadlocked lately and I now remember why upgrading all those weapons is so fun.
