Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is hermetically sealed

Below are our seven favorite webcomics from this past week -- you'll see a lot of new faces down there, as the old ones are likely wracked with miasma. Make sure you vote for your favorite after the jump, and tell us what strips we may have missed out on in the comments!
Living the Dreamcast (Digital Unrest)
Penny Arcade (By Bill Amend) (Penny Arcade - Guest Strip)
An Open Letter to Valve Software (Dipswitch)
Kuribo's Shoe (Brawl in the Family)
Where's Wario (GG Guys)
Hard Mode (Nerf NOW)
Bat H.V.A.C. (Ninja Ken)

Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 13th 2009 12:05AM
aww man, seaman in the first comic freaked the hell out of me. i voted for dipswitch cause it's the truth. zombie clowns... ugh.
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 13th 2009 12:10AM
also, you guys should have done the new penny arcade comic instead of this one. the new one is a lot funnier.
WINterfang @ Sep 13th 2009 12:25AM
I don't get this and it only get's worse because the guy explaining it for some reason just kept talking about Batman.
Markez @ Sep 13th 2009 12:25AM
I dunno, I'm on the fence, sly. It's certainly more appropriate given this week's WRUP. It's just a real, real rarity that I find Penny Arcade at all funny. I guess it seems to be the most popular of webcomics nowadays, but typically I find it more 'unfufnny' than most.
BitF seems to have fallen off quite a bit, as it use to be that I found that one to be the most enjoyable every week...
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 13th 2009 12:32AM
yeah, the new PA is less related to videogames, but it's infinitely funnier. and yeah, i do find PA hit or miss, but they do seem to be more consistently funny than other comics.
Not THAT Matt @ Sep 14th 2009 10:00AM
Before I'm obnoxiously down-voted and no longer viewable or whatever, I find Penny-Arcade's stuff funny... most of the time. Once in a great while I won't quite *get* what the comic is about (if it's regarding a game I am not at all familiar with, for example) but in general I find it hilarious. I guess that my twenty three year old self has a similar sense of humor as the early thirtys guys behind Penny Arcade? Perhaps people who dislike it are married with kids and have no sense of humor?
Who knows, but as the rap songs say, haters be hatin YO
Shee-it.
ChuckBartowski @ Sep 13th 2009 12:15AM
Dipswitch was one of the first webcomics that actually got some genuine LOL out of me in a long time. That was hilarious!
Special Agent Steve @ Sep 13th 2009 12:48AM
I lold too. But I accidentally voted for the Batman one. Whoops.
Wiizer ($299) Having BC On Your Launch Console? (Priceless) @ Sep 13th 2009 12:16AM
Where's Wario... seeing as how that's happened to me, too...
Lionbacker @ Sep 13th 2009 12:55AM
I was tricked when the sign was for "ladies" once
MystileArmor @ Sep 13th 2009 1:37AM
I guess I'm the only one that wondered in on purpose then?
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Sep 13th 2009 1:53AM
In some crowded places in Europe you can wonder in the ladies room and no one will say anything.Sometimes there are so many people in one place bathrooms are full and everyone takes what they can.
Avatar @ Sep 13th 2009 4:40AM

And that's why I'm glad I live in Canada. They're a bunch of savages over there. What's next? A road with no posted speed limit?
TomCo @ Sep 13th 2009 10:58AM
Oh God, one time I wandered into the ladies in a pub. No sign on the door.
I only realised when I was in the cubical and heard women talking outside.
Sat there for nearly 20minutes until they stopped talking crap and left.
Dartmerc @ Sep 13th 2009 11:17PM
@TomCo
So I can follow you some of the way.. wondering into ladies is a perfectly acceptable accident.
On the other hand, hanging around for 20 minutes to listen to one of them crap.. that's hard to write off.
Saihna @ Sep 13th 2009 12:16AM
GG guys was my favorite.
Gavin @ Sep 13th 2009 12:39AM
Same... though I'm both attracted to and repulsed by their giant logo :-)
Markez @ Sep 13th 2009 12:17AM
Not to be an ass, fellas, really, but I'm glad someone pointed out weeks ago that I can just hit vote without declaring my own personal favorite. I've definitely grown to like these, but still it's hard sometimes to really like one over another. It's not yours sucks, it's that they all suck kind of equally. Hope you understand.
Wiizer ($299) Having BC On Your Launch Console? (Priceless) @ Sep 13th 2009 12:25AM
I dont know exactly, but please help mee. My fathur just died, and I need someplace to transfer the money until I can get into the United States.
I am asking for your service to help me, and in return, I will give you a portion of the money. If you could give me your bank account and routing number, my fathur would be greetly appreciative.
*Waits for response*
Markez @ Sep 13th 2009 12:29AM
Sure, sure, my myspace is Mommy2Hotty, facebook is Jemima2Syrupy, twitter is Twit2Twitererer, back account is 12345678 (inspired by Spaceballs, sorry), I like walks along the beach, moderately amusing webcomics, and underwhelming demos off XBLA. You can reach me at a few different 866 #s, I mean, depending upon your interest... Dunno if this helps you at all, Nigerian sir... And yes, I'll apologize later and post a retraction commercial.
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Sep 13th 2009 1:58AM
I say we send the whole poll to hell and we declare Wiizer and Markez the winners of this week.
Marius @ Sep 13th 2009 12:17AM
"An open letter to Valve" FAILS hard for drawing Gabe EatsWell like that
The Dark Wayne @ Sep 13th 2009 12:32AM
Eats well? What the fuck man. That's just retarded. That's like the Louis CK bit where he "twists" a guys name into an insult by calling him a worthless shit bag without using his name at all. You fail hard
Marius @ Sep 13th 2009 12:38AM
I have no idea what you are talking about
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 13th 2009 2:03AM
then you fail harder.
The Baron @ Sep 13th 2009 3:25PM
Newell / Eatswell
It's not that bad. But it's insulting a god amongst mere mortals, so GTFO!
Roto13 @ Sep 13th 2009 12:28AM
That's one scary-ass Goomba in BitF.
Saihna @ Sep 13th 2009 12:35AM
It looked sort of like a penis.
Markez @ Sep 13th 2009 12:36AM
Yeah maybe that's what creeped me out about voting for it :P Haven't seen you around the stiq for awhile what gives?
The Dark Wayne @ Sep 13th 2009 12:36AM
poor little guy was so happy in the first panel
Roto13 @ Sep 13th 2009 12:39AM
I comment less because I have a life in the meatspace now for the first time in years. :P
Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO @ Sep 13th 2009 11:59AM
Penisfoot FTW?
fffunfarm06 @ Sep 13th 2009 12:29AM
ive been reading joystiq for the last 4 years and this is the first time ive ever cracked open a weekly webcomic post uve written. ha this is a very nitch following here.
The Dark Wayne @ Sep 13th 2009 12:31AM
wow, ive never bitched about this before, but they were all just awful this week
WINterfang @ Sep 13th 2009 12:33AM
You're just pissed because they made fun of you.
The Dark Wayne @ Sep 13th 2009 12:37AM
it wasnt even a good joke and seriously wtf is with the college rule paper shit?
Look At This Suit @ Sep 13th 2009 12:51AM
That wasn't even college, it was Wide Ruled by my eye.
PersianSpice @ Sep 13th 2009 12:31AM
I thought this comic was funny (http://satoshi-kun.deviantart.com/art/Peter-Molynyuk-136664626), but then again I know the artist who did it. Probably should've colored it.
Wilhelm @ Sep 13th 2009 5:29PM
yeah... except it wasn't.
PersianSpice @ Sep 13th 2009 5:37PM
Whatever floats your boat, d00d.
Gavin @ Sep 13th 2009 12:36AM
Aw, no love for http://www.robotmartini.com/community/viewpost/1025 this week?
Where's the Monkey Island Hate? (or love)
Markez @ Sep 13th 2009 1:01AM
It manages to garner rather negative attention every single week it's in there. I've seen you previously state that in whatever way you're not affiliated with it at all, so I'm curious as to why you bring it up?
Sly Cooper, Attorney at Law @ Sep 13th 2009 1:36AM
sidescroller is just way too dry. i don't think i've ever laughed, or quietly chuckled, or even smiled at a sidescroller comic.
Filthy Assistant @ Sep 13th 2009 4:13AM
The end of Monkey Island 2 was great, what the hell's wrong with him?
Gavin @ Sep 13th 2009 3:10PM
@Markez
I'm affiliated with Side Scroller in so far as I produce another comic on robotmartini.com (Floppy Boy) and know the artist. So I am not unbiased. However, I do honestly enjoy Side Scroller on a regular basis -- nearly always more than BitF, DU and Dipswitch. Just my subjective opinion but then, that's why I posted it here. (I enjoyed his comic this week)
As for garnering negative attention, SS has scored more than 100 votes in the past and finished as high as 4th in the Wrapup. So some group of Stiq readers enjoy it.
Michael Awesome @ Sep 13th 2009 12:49AM
Well it was awesome to have our comic in the last wrapup, thanks again for that. Here are our last two comics:

New one coming Monday as well. Thanks everyone who voted us to 2nd place last contest, it meant a lot!
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Sep 13th 2009 1:44AM
The one about link is very weak but the one about the ODSTs is very funny I lol'd.It should be up there instead of Digital Unrest if you ask me.

When going through your site (you have lots of great comics!) I noticed that #47 repeats as #48 and the next button for #48 just sends you to #48 over and over again. So for me
http://www.walkinginsquares.com/comic.php?id=47
http://www.walkinginsquares.com/comic.php?id=48
are the exact same comic and comic description.
Gavin @ Sep 13th 2009 3:16PM
Lot of fun stuff on the site!
Michael Awesome @ Sep 15th 2009 1:24AM
It came a bit late but here is the new comic for WalkingInSquares:
