We've seen pieces of media for Polyphony Digital's impossibly good-looking racer Gran Turismo PSP -- though no videos have offered looks of the game running at 60 FPS. We're not sure why a video game would need sunblock that powerful, but we -- what's that? Oh. Frames per second. We see.
Eurogamer's Digital Foundry has assembled a lengthy gameplay clip running at 60 frames per second -- though you may need to download a special version of the video from the site to truly see all those frames. The big brains over at DF also break down how the game's buttery-smoothness is scientifically possible, which more or less dismisses our "Elfin magic" theory out of hand. ummmm so what you are saying is that Developers either a.) don't need to talk about games until they are about to come out(killing any hope for marketing) or b.) make a game in under a year to keep people from having to wait and in the process give them shit...straight, utter, watery shit....DOO DOO...DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO....DOO

The game was propsed as an upcoming game at the launch of the PSP, they never actually gave a date, they just said they were working on it. Considering they almost canceled it entirely it's amazing that they got around to it with all the work going into GT5 which was one of the reasons it was originally delayed. A full on console sequel takes precedence over a portable version because you dont want to burn too many resources. Frankly I have to imagin sony had to spit out a lot of extra cash so that Polyphony Digital could have it ready in time for the PSPgo's launch (also timed to coincide with the PS3 slim/relaunch campaign to gain interest in the playstation brand.)

I'm upvoting ya Ryoga, these fanboys are all the same, they are just happy the game is finally coming out instead of waiting on the "eh, we'll get around to this" shelf it's been on for the last 5 years.

240 FPS? Lol, what would be the point? I don't think we could even tell the difference.

60 Frames? That's a little nuts isn't it? Don't most PS3/360 games run at like 30-45?

nothing nuts about it, the game sacrificed alot of graphical fidelity. and even limited the game to 4 cars simultaneously.
any game can run at 60, its because developers choose not to so that they can develop a game at 30fps with better visuals.

Yeah, most console games do run at 30-45 fps. Which is why I usually buy PC...
It really does make a huge difference.

"play your own MP3s from memory stick during gameplay"
Did any other game (excluding music games) have this feature before.

I want to see more of the actual gameplay. I'm not a racing fan but I might just get this, since its being so hyped. :)

I was never a fan of the realistic gameplay that is GT dont get me wrong the game looks beautiful and handles like a dream but this game is really geared only at the true auto fanatic who know all about the ins and outs of automobiles. When this game hits the bargain price I give a try.

The game isn't really for auto fanatics or fans of realism, that's what Live for Speed and i-Racing are for. There's plenty of questionable physics and hand-holding here for the action gamer.
