Jack Black cosplays as Eddie Riggs at VMAs
Okay, sure, he may have looked ridiculous dressed up as Eddie Riggs at last night's MTV video Music Awards, what with that awful wig and foam arms that would have been laughed off the set of Popeye. And yeah, we know he's got a stake in the project's success, but you have to love Jack Black's commitment to Brütal Legend, one that we wish all big-name celebrities could share when they appear in games of their own.
Seriously though, Jack, let's have a talk about that wig.

Power to Jack Black... His commitment to this project is epic and I hope the sales numbers reflect that come Roctober
The1stMJC @ Sep 14th 2009 8:40AM
The fact that Roctober is a fictional month means this game will have problems selling.
Ryan @ Sep 14th 2009 8:45AM
First off, its "Rocktober". Secondly, what the hell does the name of the month have to do with the sales?

Don't worry...I laughed...

It will definitely be the highest selling game of Rocktober.
aristokrat @ Sep 14th 2009 12:23PM
Since he's a gamer himself, I wonder if he too is aware of the general lack of advertising and awareness that games generate, so maybe he's trying to reverse that himself as much as possible for his own game.
JewUnit666 @ Sep 14th 2009 7:55PM
honestly this was the role he was born to play i mean it just suites him so perfectly, o and i think it would be absolutely amazing if they put the PICK OF DESTINY into brutal legend

I haven't bought many games this year. Maybe one or two. But I'ma buy this at launch. I mean, not only does it look fantastic, but yer... I dunno... stuff like this is just rad and makes me wanna support the project.
SpyderTaco (PSN: Ar4chNova89) @ Sep 14th 2009 12:14PM
Definitely. The entire game has an all-around good feeling about it, like the people involved actually give a sh_t about the experiences they want to give people.
I haven't felt like this about a studio since the launch of Psychonauts.
The only problem? It comes out the same day as Uncharted 2. That means my brain is going to melt just trying to decide which disk to put in first.

LOL. So off-topic, yet so damn funny. Somehow, though, I could imagine one of his speeches being interrupted by an imbecile like Kanye. I think he was just mad because a "white girl" won that award.

I'm sorry the fact that people actually care about worthless awards like the Music Video awards is kinda lame in a sad way.
skfireboy @ Sep 14th 2009 8:41AM
Oh that's awesome. I had to look twice at his arms, I thought they were real and that Jack Black had gone all Carrot top for this game. Did they let him bring the axe into the show? Maybe he could have helped Kanye West off stage......
Daz @ Sep 14th 2009 8:55AM
He should have cut kanye west's head off with that axe.
Space @ Sep 14th 2009 10:31AM
I still don't understand why people are going nuts about kanye west. He didn't say that girl didn't deserve it, he just wanted people to know that beyonce made a good video as well and didn't want that to go unnoticed. he didn't say anything negative at all. sure it wasn't great timing, but it really wasn't terrible either. perhaps he should've just waited until he was on stage but because he did that, it will bring more attention to both videos now.
Kdiggy @ Sep 14th 2009 10:41AM
Space - it was inappropriate for Kayne to interrupt her speech and elude that another performer deserved the award more then her. Shes a young girl, who just won her first award. She deserved the opportunity to be acknowledge for her accomplishment. Kayne stole that from her.
Modernaire_boy @ Sep 14th 2009 10:46AM
Kanye west is a disgrace, he went up on stage and left the girl speechless as if she did something bad because she won her first VMAs Award. I think he did it on purpose, but didn't expect the backlash thats why he issued an apology, if a reporter had ask him, then thats fine, he would tell his opinion, but he stole the mic from the young women to say his opinion as if its so important.
The only thing thats even more shocking is the amount of racist comments the videos posted on YouTube and TMZ, I guess Taylor Swift has alot of far-right fans.
Space @ Sep 14th 2009 10:55AM
it was definitely inappropriate but in the end more people in this world know about taylor swift because of him now. I had no clue who she was, and I had never seen either of the videos talked about, but now I know....and considering it's the entertainment industry that a pretty good thing.
It's not like he went up and slapped her and said, "YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS!"
it was just awkward, and brings more attention to her, I'm sure she'll recover from this traumatizing event...
Solace @ Sep 14th 2009 11:16AM
Space you must be ignorant as fuck and one of Kanye's ignorant fans also. There is a time and place to voice your opinion and that isnt one of them.
Filter @ Sep 14th 2009 11:18AM
wow space, you think all racists are 'far right' huh? You couldn't be any further from the truth. If anything, its people on the 'left' that are racists. Maybe not against blacks and mexicans (obama is trying to play robin hood and rob the rich and give the poor black and illegal) , but white working-class males. Sorry if wanting to protect Americas border, language, and culture from illegal immigrants makes someone a racist.
Have some responsibility for yourself and stop looking for handouts from the government.
PN04 @ Sep 14th 2009 11:22AM
Shhhhh stop talking about "He who should not be named", that's why he did it, he just wants people to talk about him, if you just ignore it he fails.

apparently both her albums are quadruple platinum. im pretty sure lots of people heard of her before kayne made an ass out of himself while she was on stage.
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Sep 14th 2009 11:44AM
I wonder how is Kanya West going to top that next year, probably he is going to run around naked making donkey noises because that's practically what he did here.
The whole show sucked honestly except for the MJ tribute,it is a good reminder of what we used to call music.
Beyonce won most os the awards and as much as I like her music honestly best coreography? You have to joking, the whole video was made by her nemesis.
lawlersauce @ Sep 14th 2009 11:49AM
waah wah waah. kanye is still a beast - im more ashamed of 808 than i am of this shit lol. VMAs dont mean shit - kanye dont need a moon man, kanye is a moon man himself

@Filter
This is totally off topic, but what the hell do you mean racism against white people? White males still make more money than anyone else on the planet, and that's a fact. And as far as protecting your culture and language goes, guess who discovered America? Not a white guy. He was Genoese (Genoa is in Italy). Neither Canada or the USA has a culture, except that which it has absorbed from other cultures, and the only reason we speak English is because they had the biggest army and the most money at the time. You're not protecting anything, you're making it worse.
Space @ Sep 14th 2009 11:52AM
@filter- I have no idea what you're talking about, sorry dude
@the rest of you guys- sure she is a massive celebrity, but like I said this will do nothing but bring tons of positive attention to her. This is great publicity for her. I bet she's fine with it. and you know what? it's also going to bring attention to beyonce and kanye. and attention is exactly what what celebrities want!
so someone please tell me how this is bad for anybody involved.
Space @ Sep 14th 2009 12:10PM

if you wanna talk to me about illegal immigrants, you should take into account that I'm native american. So, before you go too far talking about how terrible "illegals" are, let me ask you this. Why do you have anymore right to be here than anyone else?"
Markez @ Sep 14th 2009 12:48PM
Filter, it will always be one of the more hilarious things I ever hear when white males complain about being prejudiced against. You must seriously live in a bubble or something. Are you really whining about racism against white males? Really? Reminds me of some of the original Fat Princess threads on here where men were whining about feminists, complaining of the sexism, how the feminists were hurting men and have been so negatively affected as a result of the feminist movement. Lawd, you must be so delusional I don't know why I bothered writing all that.

"Maybe not against blacks and mexicans (obama is trying to play robin hood and rob the rich and give the poor black and illegal) , but white working-class males. Sorry if wanting to protect Americas border, language, and culture from illegal immigrants makes someone a racist."
Wow... as a "white", working class male you are completely delusional. You say people should "Have some responsibility for yourself and stop looking for handouts from the government", yet in the same post you say that The President Elect is stealing money from you/us... hmmm... Pot, I've got a call from a Mr. Kettle for you on line one...
Then again, ignorance is bliss, and what good are ideals if they work both ways right?
@Space
More on-topic (at least for this thread) the "big deal" is that Kanye chose to take something away from Taylor Swift to get his own message out. MTV shut the mic off after Kanye said his piece. I respected the music Beyonce put out, and now I can respect the woman more than. Total class act. Kanye has a history of doing and saying things that, for lack of more poignant words, are just wrong. What would have happened if Taylor Swift had done that to Kanye? I'm absolutely positive he would have gone bat-shit crazy.
tl;dr: Kanye west is retarded and Filter is a hypocrite. :D

I think you were targeting me not space. Obviously the racists leaving the racist comments were other than black. I never said that black people or liberals cannot be racist any person can be racist no matter what skin tone.
'Sorry if wanting to protect Americas border, language, and culture from illegal immigrants makes someone a racist.'
Leaving racist comments because of what an ignorant black man did isnt trying to protect Americans border and culture is it.
The reason why I mentioned far right is because Neo-fascists and neo-Nazis are usually labeled extreme right or ultra right.
Whenever you click on a persons channel who left racist comments on the YouTube videos they have all that white supremist, Neo-Nazis stuff on their profile.
