But, the music. They ripped the music from Zelda.

I loved the old zelda games too. Though I think visually this would have looked a LOT better if they got rid of SOME of the blockiness. If they stick a $10 price tag on it, they'd probably have a sale though.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say its a remake of A Link to the Past...

That's kinda what I mean. I know sarcasm doesn't really work through typing, but that's how I tend to show my opinions and thoughts. It looks like a cool game, but something tells me that Nintendo might see this game is too much like Zelda, which means I won't be surprised if I hear about some copyright arguments in the near future.

yeah that definitely looked like Mario. seems weird right? all the zelda references and possible Mario references...makes you think it's more of a fan-made project than an actual official game (although it is).

This has Zelda and a few other games written all over it. Boomerang? Check. Sword in Stone? Check. Boulders falling? It just goes on and on. That is exactly what I wanted from this game, and it looks like they are going to deliver.
I sincerely hope that Nintendo doesn't get its panties in a bunch over this.

Just watched the end of the trailer and...oh no....oh nooooo....11/5? No mention of an American release?
If I have to pay 100 dollars to import this, I will, but I'm going to cry like a little girl.

Very impressive. That 2d to 3d transition was very cool. They should do a trailer that consists of a loop of that transition. Gameplay looks nice but very very Zelda like, even down to the music. Watch out for a Nintendo lawsuit!

Considering this isn't Zelda, those probably aren't Cuccos.

The same rules apply in Japan. If this can get released commercially there, it should be able to get released here without any additional problems. They aren't including any obvious homages to any American properties (from what I saw in the trailer) so it shouldn't be much of an issue. Then again, the rules might be different in Japan for this sort of thing (If someone were to make, say, a voxel version of Mickey Mouse, all hell would break loose).
I hope this game has a level editor. Oh my god, the hours of fun I could have just building things with voxels. I know it has a character editor, but I think this engine has so much more potential than that, and it would be a shame if we couldn't create and share our own voxel worlds.
Just checked the import sites, and it is hovering at 70 dollars. If they don't announce an English release by the fourth or so, I'm importing this game. Someone somewhere will translate the text screens for me.

Did some checking, and apparently the scuttlebutt on the internet is that Atlus (of Persona/Shin Megami Tensei fame) is in the process of acquiring the rights to publish the game in the US (and localize it, etc). There is also another company going for the rights, but I can't remember which one at the moment.
To import...or not to import....hmm.....

Genius art style. Interesting how the PS systems get this and then 30 Second Hero, both with similar styles (blown up 8 bit(?) art). Sometimes I wish the 360 had some defining art games (Braid's now multiplatform, and I don't think there's anything on the 360 that can compare with PixelJunk stuff).

Holy ripoff Batman!!! This looks good nonetheless but it's practically a re-skinned Zelda imo.

that is some serious zelda ripping off. even the song sounds like a variation of the zelda theme. still looks super sweet, can't wait for a US release.

Ohh-ho-ho, yes. I actually don't care at all that this seems very Legend of Zelda-ish and for one main reason: I can't get enough of the 2D Legend of Zelda games (isometric/2.5D still counts as 2D to me).
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the trailer was simply built to look like an old Legend of Zelda game simply as a form of tongue-in-cheek. I mean, it isn't exactly hiding the fact that it looks very similar. Perhaps the game is even a parody? Either way, it at least looks beautiful.

I'm with you on that one - the English in the trailer looks comically bad. I thought most Japanese shops were using pro translaters for all their stuff now.
