Listen, we know you're excited to finally get your hands on EA's standalone strategy spin-off, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge. You'll be able to fulfill your desires for meticulous action this week; the game is set to launch on XBLA this Wednesday and on PSN the day after for 800 ($10). You can temporarily satiate yourself by checking out the game's latest trailer after the jump.
However, before hastily acquiring the title, heed this warning: Commander's Challenge is infused with such a large dosage of Ric Flair that other items in your respective console's hard drive may get totally pumped and begin stylishly pummeling one another. Buyer beware!
I loved the game, but it was really buggy for me (and another guy I played with online). Did anyone else have problems with loading saved games and having the audio garbled or completely silent? I had to reload 4 or 5 times sometimes before it worked right, and sometimes a total game reboot was all that could fix it. This never happens with any of my other PS3 games, so I can only blame EA. Hopefully, this upcoming DLC won't suffer the same. I think I'll wait to hear what people say about it before risking it.
i had this audio problem as well, and not just with loading saved games. the workaround that fixed it for me was to disable surround sound 5.1 on the ps3 and only use only the most basic sound settings. this involved going into the audio settings before launching this game and reverting back to 5.1 afterwards, but it gave consistent audio. hope this helps.
Are you guys ever going to have forums? I've been looking for a good gaming forum for a long time but I can never get into any of them. There's either too many fanboys, too many fanboy wars, stupid features like no avatar over 80x80 until you get 100 or more posts, stupid features like no posting a thread until you have 50 or more posts, stupid features like a permanent avatar of a frozen steak with eyes, nose and a mouth and other stupid things like that. C'mon Joystiq, make the forums and make them good.
Honestly, for something that is free on the PC. It's lame to pay 10$. On PC, at first, it's fun and quickly becomes uber challenging and at the end becomes just too much.
The video clips are mostly the commanders screaming that they're going to kick you a$$.
I played as the rising sun. The air units are just too powerful. Bring out 5 quick enough and you can win the map.
And I honestly hope that they made it easier on the consoles. With the controllers, it's slower to build up then with the mouse. No matter how much they improve it and I played both.
I had the audio problems as well. The game menus sometimes dont even have audio. Just dead silent and occasionally it would just garble. This is dumb why would they release a game without sound. I haven't had any problems with my other games.
