This Wednesday: Bubble Bobble Neo, Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge arrive on XBLA
Well, folks, it's not quite the Summer of Arcade anymore. Microsoft's Major Nelson has announced C&C Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge and Bubble Bobble Neo as this week's Xbox Live Arcade releases. Despite the inclusion of "C&C Red Alert 3" right there in the title, the former game is a standalone experience and can be played without the original Red Alert 3 game disc.
Each title will draw 800
($10) from your account, assuming it doesn't go toward this week's Xbox Live deal, Lode Runner.

Bubble Bobble is a classic. I will be getting this for sure.
whylekat @ Sep 14th 2009 4:37PM
I concur.
I'm flushed with memories of little cute dragons trapping baddie's in bubbles them popping them out of existance.
Roto13 @ Sep 14th 2009 4:51PM
Careful. If it's like the Wii version, there's no save system.
cafecito @ Sep 14th 2009 6:38PM
And no save system is just perfect. It'll be just like back in the arcades. Hope there's a credit limiter option too, to add somewhat of a challenge...
Kizzle @ Sep 14th 2009 4:34PM
I see Lode Runner is back to its "original" price.
whylekat @ Sep 14th 2009 4:38PM
Please elaborate...
pibs @ Sep 14th 2009 4:43PM
During September there was a pricing mishap and Microsoft accidentally priced Lode Runner for 800msp.
Paul @ Sep 14th 2009 4:44PM
yep....what pibs said
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/22/correction-lode-runner-costs-800-ms-points/
Jcarpio @ Sep 14th 2009 4:44PM
When Lode Runner was initially released on XBLA. it was priced at 800 pts until MS realised the error and "fixed" it to be 1200 pts.
whylekat @ Sep 14th 2009 5:40PM
Geez between that and the guitar hero avatar clothing/props doubling in price withen hrs of release....
I'm starting to get fed up with Microsoft =/

Love Bubble Bobble, but the Wii's Bubble Bobble Plus! has the original 100 levels and a whole bunch of new levels.
As much as it staggers me personally to say, the Wii wins this battle.
Roto13 @ Sep 14th 2009 4:52PM
What's in Bubble Bobble Neo anyway?
False @ Sep 14th 2009 5:20PM
Think of Bubble Bobble Neo as a remixed Bubble Bobble (much like Turtles in Time Re-Shelled). It's the original 100 levels with remixed graphics and music for 800 MS ($10).
Bubble Bobble Plus! is the original 100 levels, 100 MORE levels, and remixed graphics (though not to the degree of Neo). It goes for 500 points ($5).
The Wii is the much bigger value here. If Neo ever gets knocked down to half-price, I'll consider it, but I'll stick with Plus! for now.
cafecito @ Sep 14th 2009 6:42PM
Your statement is as False as your nick :P. Bubble Bobble NEO is not just the original 100 stages, it also has an arrange mode with an extra 100 stages and 4 player support. There's also a versus mode. So... it's basically Bubble Bobble Plus in HD. How do I know? I got the demo from the japanese marketplace.
pibs @ Sep 14th 2009 4:40PM
Wow 800msp really has become the standard pricing.
I hope we see a NA release of Puzzle Bobble
cafecito @ Sep 14th 2009 6:43PM
Isn't THIS the NA version? The japanese one has been available for quite a while already.
pibs @ Sep 14th 2009 6:59PM
Haha fella, im talking about Puzzle Bobble which is out in Japan already but not in NA.
Sorry for the confusion I shouldn't of went slightly off topic. Two different games that have the Bobble XD
cafecito @ Sep 14th 2009 7:01PM
Oh, right, I misread there. My bad. I'm pretty sure Puzzle Bobble will find its way into XBLA, sooner or later :D

Snowblind @ Sep 14th 2009 5:42PM
I don't see why anyone would bother voting in these polls, when either Sephiroth or Link will innevitably win. Why go though the same song and dance every year, just to end up with the same result?
And yes, anti-voting like that is even more reason to ignore these polls. I can guarantee that most of the kids who voted didn't even know who Bub and Bob were.
The only character to get it worse than the Chief is Pikachu.
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Sep 14th 2009 8:15PM
I love /v/ and /b/ field trips,it was fun while it lasted but soon /b/ lose all interest and /v/ had enough with just taking down master chief.I would have liked to taste some FFVII fanboys tears oh well.
I concur with snowblind these polls are pretty stupid.Oh gee I wonder who has a bigger fanbase Link or some PC character from the early 90's that only 80 people can still remember.
If it wasn't for 4chan the final match would be Cloud vs Master Chief.
Mr. Manly ESC Mcbeefington Ferguson The Second @ Sep 14th 2009 8:19PM
I hope the developers didn't take gamespot poll too seriously. What the heck if it includes some sort of co-op mode I'll check it out.
To conclude my post is not 800 MSP too expensive for bubble bobble? It is a good game but something like 400MSP would have been better.

ban this fucking asshole
