If you're looking to acquire a PS3 steering wheel peripheral before the release of that one racing game, Best Buy's got a pretty sweet offer for you. If you purchase Need for Speed: Shift or DiRT 2 through the retailer's online storefront, you can knock $60 off the price of the Logitech Driving Force Wireless Wheel, bringing its cost down to a mere $20.
There's no telling how long this deal will be available, so if you're in the market for discounted circular gaming peripherals, you should probably put the pedal to the metal.

you know I've always wanted one but I never wanted to be that dude that actually has one in his living room. Seems like the type of thing that scares women away.

Agreed. Put it back in it's box, and stuff it in the closet.
That said, would an analog wheel be good for a game like Dirt2...? I tried my Driving Force GT with Burnout, and the original Dirt, and it sure was crappy "driving"... I only use my wheel, now, for Gran Tourismo.

Damnit! I just bought the EX this weekend. I only payed $25 for it, but this is a better wheel. I don't really have any interest in those games though.
Oh and yes, you must put it away when women come over or they will look at you different.

Yeah, I got this wheel awhile back for $50 at Gamestop. It's an excellent wheel and works for both the ps2, ps3, and pc. If you don't have a wheel, this is the way to go.

Phew! Good thing I don't know any women or I'd be in trouble!
Anyway I'd definitely buy it for $20, always wanted a wheel to play with my unused copy of GT5:P, but I have GameFly, I'm not wasting any money on new games. Too bad.

Does this wheel even have shifters?

Damn it. They don't ship this to Poland :(

This would be a good deal if it wasn't a mediocre device. No shifter or paddles so doesn't even really cater to the people that are most likely to use it - probably one of the reasons they're selling this at a massive discount.

WTF... tried submitting with my normal password and got blanked. Anyways:
This would be a good deal if it wasn't a mediocre product. Lack of shifter and paddles means it doesn't really meet the needs of its most likely buyers (hard core racing nuts like me) - which probably explains why they're selling it for peanuts.

Ugh
Short version - wheel sucks => no buyers => big discount

Where does one accelerate with a wheel like this.

There are analog accelerators/brakes behind the wheel. Kinda like that shifters on a formula race car.

Wow, I haven't used one of these since PS1.

Yeah but is this the official GT wheel? I wanna get that one--the one they talked about when GT5: Prologue was released.

Naw, this isn't it. And while the one you are referring to is pretty cool, the only thing I didn't like was the sequential shifter. You can only shift up and down (in motion). You push it forward or you pull it back slightly, no clutch or real gear changing.

I bought this package yesterday. I also had some Reward Zone dollars saved up, so I only paid $68 for the wheel and Dirt 2. I paid to much, the wheel sucks, hence the deep discount.

I usually leave my wheel out when the ladies stop by. I have it sitting right between my Fleshlights and collectible Star Wars action figures. This way they get to see what kind of man I really am while I stand between them and the door and their eyes dart nervously around looking for some other quick exit.

I almost bought this, then realised it's on piece. I'll wait for the G25 price drop and GT5.
