Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth is real, whips onto WiiWare soon

The Wiimake of Castlevania: The Adventure for Game Boy that was recently rated by the ESRB is totally happening, but it wasn't Konami that took the lid off the coffin. Nintendo confirmed the game today as Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth, and gave it a release timeframe: Q3 2009. Holy water! That's pretty much now!
We've put in word to Konami in hopes ofstaking nailing down a more specific date.

Unless they mean fiscal Q3, doesn't that mean it has to release either the 21st or the 28th?

I'll buy it, but I won't be excited for it the way I would be if it were, say, a remake of the first Castlevania or Super Castlevania.
Still...these are the kinds of games I like seeing on WiiWare. I had high hopes for WiiWare turning into the true successor to the SNES, but it's more or less been a toilet for crappy puzzle games.

Yeah I played through that game as a kid, but it's not very good. Like Castlevania with no power-ups, moving in slow-motion through molasses.
Music was cool though, natch.

I remember this game; it was VERY heavy on the jumping, but the controls were very sluggish and stiff even for a Castlevania game, which is pretty much a death sentance for a platformer. I hope the remix fixes these issues, though; then I'll be interested.

I don't care how awful the game is, cool vampires that don't care about relationships will be a nice change of pace.

I'm just interested in how they make this game. It would be a definite failure if they decide to release it looking like a game boy game, so i wonder if they'll remake it using assets from the other games, like the snes castlevanias. I imagine it will be something like that, and really wish it was coming to other systems :(

Y'know, aside from the name, where's the evidence that this is a remake of the Game Boy game...?
Hoopla @ Sep 15th 2009 9:54PM
Call me when Kid Dracula gets a remake

yes! That game was Shockingly good (and rather challenging)! I replayed that just recently. Another better one would be Legend just to se how they handle the story line..
