As the trailer points out, the diode-packing DJs will also be mashing their music up with tracks from No Doubt, Young MC and Gary Numan, to name a few. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got to get back to work on our DJ Hero playing robot.

That mix isn't as good as either of the songs are separately, not even close.
That's a long way from convincing me I need to buy this game.

Atleast I wasn't the only one who thought that. I love Daft Punk and Queen, but they don't mix.
From what I've seen, I'm really not going to like the tracks one bit, they all sound... terrible.

it's a mashup of two VERY famous songs. The Queen song is probably one of the top 3 songs that once you start singing people will starting banging stuff to the beat out of nowhere. Nothing will be enough to top it. Not even Daft Punk.
Once you have that in mind, the mix sounds freeking cool. maybe not EPIC, but still cool.

The problem with this game is that if you don't like the mix, you're screwed. you have no control over making your own mix or altering it. You're just stucking doing the same one over and over again. DJ'ing is all about creating something unique and this game gives you zero ability to create anything, new or otherwise. It's a poorly thought out game that did nothing but figure out how to take the guitar hero gameplay and attached it to something that's not a guitar or drums.

Daft Punk often does tempo shifting in their music. That's why it sounds odd at the beginning, because they went from the base tempo of We Will Rock You and slammed it up to Robot Rock. Go listen to Alive 2007, they do it frequently on that recording, notably at the start of the concert.

Also agreed, that was pretty terrible. =\
Also really loved the whole 5 seconds of gameplay. Honest. e.e

I am convinced the people on here saying how Daft Punk makes them want to buy this game are plants. They just have to be. This game has "failure" written all over it.

They're just such a big thing now having them in there boosts their sale majorly. Like how when Dragon Force was the band to listen to they included Dragon Force, which did boost their sales.

Yeah, except Daft Punk is good. Dragonforce... not so much.

Except that's highly unlikely from RB because they don't go for what's in right now. Plus, Rock Band isn't prone to make so many worthless titles a year. Even then you're not forced to update one bit, or to keep old ones. As DLC works with RB1, even L:RB will work with RB. Only one to not work is Beatles due to Apple Corp not wanting to.

Too bad Daft Punk is the most boring group in electronic music.

I don't care for Daft Punk or hip hop in general, but that was fucking awesome.
I hope somebody I know buys this game, because there's no way I'm buying it. But I need to play it ASAP.

Daft Punk is very hip-hop! What are you drawing lines around artists like that for? Maybe your forgot the Daft Punk song 'Teachers' where they give Kenny Dope and Dr. Dre shout-outs, along with classic house producers. Hip-hop is a massive melting pot of music, especially electronic, from the first classic samples of Kraftwerk being integrated in early Bronx-influenced all the way to Kanye sampling Daft Punk.
I think that's why I'm getting into this game the more I hear about it... I resisted for a while, as I've been DJing for 20 years now and I just thought it would be a massive disappointment. Yeah, I know, it still could be. But it's got heavy hitters involved, people like Daft Punk, DJ Shadow, Grandmaster Flash, Z-Trip, etc. and the more I see the tracks that you play with I think there's a lot of cool stuff that made it into the final mix that I would never think could - Gary Numan, Jurrassic 5, Eric B + Rakim, Hashim ('Al'Naafiysh'? That's a classic battle track! So crazy that that old gem is in there...), KRS-One, Cudi, LL Cool J...
Ah, whatever. I like a lot of different music, and I think this game has been built by others that do to, so when I see someone deem that Daft Punk is unrelated to hip-hop, I wince.

I'm really interested in the game, but sadly I'm still not liking the price point.
Doesn't help I have so many games I need to pay off.
Hopefully DJ Hero is much like Guitar Hero and will see a price drop in the coming months for the bundle.

I hope this game brings Daft Punk a good chunk of cash so that they can go into the studio and make more good stuff. Or at least feel inspired/motivated if people get excited about them.
I have a friend who keeps saying that their time is over, and that their popularity is waning.
I don't know, b/c after watching Interstella 5555 for the first time, I absolutely loved Discovery and hope for their success.
