Beatles: Rock Band sales exceeding expectations, Viacom says

When Viacom's CEO, Philippe Dauman, says that The Beatles: Rock Band sales have "exceeded internal expectations," we have to imagine that he doesn't have his top expectations men on the job. If we had been asked for our expectations of a game featuring the most popular band of all time, we would have simply pointed toward www.mythirdyacht.com and been on our way.

What's actually a surprise from an IndustryGamers report on the matter is that even in our crummy economy, it's the $250 version of the game -- bundled with all the instruments -- that's performing so well that Dauman says he expects a sellout by November.

Guys, unfortunately he's completely right. I don't think he's talking about the quality of the band but instead of the quality of the 360s audience...WE may love the Beatles, but the average 15 year old couldn't care less (unless their parents don't want them to own it).

Madden is doing fine on the 360, PS3 and PS2. The Madden audiance has always been about the most realistic looking simulation, so it's no wonder that the ones that have already upgraded from the PS2 jumped to the High Definition consoles.

But no worries, we got EA Sports Active on the Wii, that is the audience that we are targeting for the Wii, and we're doing fantastic. That along with Tiger Woods.

no sarcasm needed, because they more than likely could seeing how they included a small fraction of the beatles' musical library and have only planned 2 more albums for DLC

I'm glad the game is doing well, I think it's a wonderful game and Harmonix is a company that deserves continued success.

They deserve nothing. All their success has been because of it's similarities to our title, Guitar Hero. They are a shameless knock-off of our title and need to be put back in their place. Don't worry. We have the final blow that will be the end of the Rock Band series forever, our upcoming title called Band Hero. No one will go to Rock Band games again.

This is the situation, i have a hacked xbox. (in be for o god, you're horrible, reason for bad economy etc.)
But I when i heard of how much they spent to make this game I immediatly said "I have to BUY this game"
as for GH5, I said fuck it, downloaded it.

I'd suggest this game even if you weren't that big a fan of The Beatles music (although I don't understand how you cannot be). The presentation is phenomenal.

Goddamn it's true. I was already expecting it to be pretty nice, but this is definitely how it's done.

I work at target, and this game has been sold out for some time....meanwhile, GH5 still sits there from when it first came out. Could this be the first rock band to beat GH?

Can you send me G5? I'll trade it in at Gamestop for the special edition of this game.

I really didn't expect this to sell well. I'm very glad I was wrong :)

Does anyone know how difficult the game play is? I was thinking of picking this up and I have never played a music game like it before.

compared to RB1 and 2 it's a bit easier.
