I think RE4 before RE5, Co-Op waggle online may just slow use down on some scenes in RE5.

this was the point for motion controls for 360 and PS3. to take away the free exclusives that Wii was getting. before developers had to pick to release for wii or 360/ps3.

but anything has to be better than the motionplus. you have to keep recalibrating that thing. and i was so disappointed by how the swordfighting actually worked.

Mainly because 3rd party titles haven`t been selling well on Wii. This is a chance for the developers to recover some of the losses....

You have it exactly wrong. These games generally couldn't have profited anywhere except for Wii. They would lose money on the other platforms, through the necessary added costs.

"outside of Nintendo's first-party offerings, we've yet to see many studios even get Wii motion control right"

Super Mario Galaxy hardly used the wiimote at all. waggle to spin could have been a button, and collecting those little starbit things was really a gimmick more than a gameplay improvement. Brawl didn't use motion controls at all.

The only game that I really loved the motion control on was No More Heroes. It made the combat really satisfying without being a wagglefest.

I'll give you that there was no "PAY FOR" service before Xbox live, but Xbox live like online gaming was available long before Xbox Live.

The ranks of games that this could really be applicable for is slim, though. The reason most 3rd party Wii games get made is because the publisher wants to make a low-cost project, and relatively few Wii games are the kind that would have the sales potential to really be worth it.

The Resident Evil rail shooters, perhaps. Monster Hunter 3, but MH3 could've been on PS3 anyway

MH3 was originally a PS3 exclusive.

I agree with you that most of the 3rd party stuff is much to niche to have an audience on the PS3/360. There are a few exceptions like maybe Madworld or Muramasa to name a couple. The games themselves are already made and it wouldn't be some huge undertaking to port them over to the PS3.

We've had this conversation before and the reason Wii games are cheaper to produce by and large are because Wii developers spend less money on them. A big budget game is going to be expensive to develop regardless of the console. Look at something like Mario galaxy. For whatever the reason the PS3 & 360 have a larger amount of big budget games. Maybe it's because of the differences in audience or because of the differences in hardware. However, it's not as if a big time Wii game can't have a comparable budget to a PS360 game.

Strange when 360 gamers say they want MGS4 on the 360 people tell them to "STFU" and buy a PS3 and stop being a fanboy. Now people hear wii ports can go to the PS3 why didn't people buy the games on the wii?

I know what you mean but it's a bit of a different circumstance. By and large you haven't seen PS3 gamers clamor for a Wii exclusive even after the developer says it's not going to happen. I don't want the PS3 software catalogue watered down with shitty ports of shitty games. Now, if the lineup can be diversified with good titles that appeal to more people because of the motion controller thats a good thing. However, I get the feeling Sony probably wants it's own software and not stuff thats of low quality. I can see this being beneficial for future releases of games now coming to the PS3.

The only time I really wanted a Wii game on PS3 is when I know that the game could be improved. Something like Madworld is one of the few examples. This is mainly because I have a Wii and can buy all the games anyway. But you know what I mean.

I think hard core games will sell better on ps3
because ps3 gamers are hardcores!
the reason why they didn't sell on wii is
because wii is for kids!

why would nintendo agree to allow to have their games ported when it could end up boosting there rivals' sales... this wont happen, nintendo is making much moneys to gamble on making games for ps3..

You may be a little confused.
This isn't about games Nintendo makes themselves (Mario Kart, Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid, Zeld. This is about 3rd party games on the wii (boom blox, madworld, zack and wiki etc) that aren't owned by Nintendo and as such Nintendo has no say in the matter. They can't stop another company from putting a game n a different platform unless they had an exclusivity deal.

maybe, just maybe, this is going to be the biggest step Sony could ever take, and if they do this then we could see hella better sales from sony!

I don't belive in god but maybe a full Joystiq prayer of hope that this will pay off in the best possible way?

"port over their Wii titles to the PS3." Yes because all the gamers out there want all them great Wii waggle exclusive for the PS3... Come on all they gotta do is add HD just like this, Active Life: Extreme Challenge HD, Real Heroes: Firefighter HD and Picturebook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit HDDD. Some times they add XExtremeX to show how much better it will be for the ps3.... Let's just all hope they only port over good games like Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

It's official. Joystiq lets the cat out of the bag: There is no Wii game worth porting besides Nintendo's games and any game that is worth porting needs new graphics.

Hypocrisy has reached code RED.

No more Heroes would fail miserably on the ps3.

It did well on the wii because it was the only original game with blood, cursing, and jr high style innuendo.
PS3 owners wouldn't put up with the barren sandbox, inconsistent combat, and tedious minigames.

I don't think they'd need to increase the graphics of any Wii ports. Just price the game accordingly.
