I'd go as far as to say it was the worst film I'd ever seen, did any of it even make sense to you?
I saw it twice and both times it was awful.

The plot was terrible, they don't even make an attempt to explain half of the stuff that happens.

And the bit where that dragon/boy turns out to be a lake she fell in as a kid... Right that makes sense, we could all have easily guessed that because... NO WE COULDN'T HAVE.
It's just one ridiculous thing happening after another.
And then the ending where it turns out everything goes back to how it was before they even entered the place that they didn't need to enter.
Why was her dad driving so fast through the forest like a possessed madman anyway?
It's all just one big mindfuck.

The only bit of sensible plot there was in the film was that they were moving houses and then got out of the car, it goes crazy swayze after that.

I don't understand your point. When they go back time has clearly passed in the 'real' world to the 'spirit' world.

I imagine that this film makes more 'sense' if you are Japanese since they believe that Spirits occupy objects (i.e. trees, rocks, rivers etc) Haku is a river spirt under a spell. See it makes perfect sense!!!!

I actually enjoy watching movies that are made by different cultures, you have to relaise that customs/attitudes and humour will be completely different. for example most old Jackie Chan films have an 'odd' sense of humour, but I completely appreciate that. I'm British and i'll be the first to admit that British comedy is a lot different to American comedy and some Americans don't 'get' our humour.

If you want to 'guess what happens' in movies I suggest you stick to predictable romantic comedies

Video games are, like movies, a form of entertainment. If he enjoys making movies, I don't see him 'loathing' the possibility of a video game.

I see both of your points, however all of Hayao Miyazaki's films are all hand drawn.

But you see Luke, he does. I don't know why, I know it doesn't make sense, but it's the truth, I know I've read an interview where he said it but I can't seam to find it. This is the closest to what I read before that I could find:

Wow, I didn't know that. But this says it all.

They are REALLY lucky to have been given that chance. Perhaps Myazaki is softening up?
