Shortly after the announcement of the Limited Edition Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 bundle, we had a chance to grill Microsoft's Albert Penello, director of platform marketing for Xbox, about the bundle. While Pinello confirmed the bundle's absence of any additional accessories – no high-definition cables, no WiFi adapter – he also commented on the 250GB hard drive. When asked if Microsoft had any plans to sell the significantly embiggened hard drive separately, Pinello said, "I wouldn't say plans. Maybe. I hear this story every two years. It was the 20s, and then the 60s, and then the 120s." Not that you could afford it anyway.
So, Microsoft doesn't have "plans" per se, but Pinello pointed out that, historically, these things become available separately. Until then, if you want a massive 250GB of Xbox storage, your only avenue is purchasing the $399 Modern Warfare 2 bundle.

It really worries me that MS execs find it funny when people ask about the chipset, it's as if they still refuse to acknowledge the atrocious failure rate of the console. I'm glad he semi-confirmed Jasper though since that's a big reason I ordered this.

Oh man, now you've gone and done it. Here come the horde of Microsoft drones to claim that the RROD was never as bad as the media and the fanboys made it out to be, and that it's no longer a problem, and current 360 consoles are perfect and never break down, blah blah blah blah.

I don't think it makes a lot sense for a major corporation to go around saying one if their products was a failure. I don't think shareholders would appreciate that.

I am an Xbox 360 fanboy but will admit in a second that the hardware is a pile of crap. At least the older stuff is. The plus is that the software, including Xbox Live, is top notch.
I've sent my launch 360 in for repair like 3 times. I put in a preorder for this MW2 bundle this morning. Can't wait!!!

Realistically, 99% of X-Box owners shouldn't even need or want this space. Unless for some reason you have every piece of Rock Band DLC (that's quite an accomplishment), don't delete demos or videos after playing them, and happen to absolutely loooooove Call of Duty.

If you download newer XBLA games and have most of the decent DLC/Add-ons from games like Burnout, Rainbow Six, Halo 3, Call of Duty and others. You'll need it.
My 20 gig floats around 2 to 3 gigs of space because all the DLC and XBLA games I've bought over the years. I can't even store half of it on there at one time I have to re-download things that I want to play. The other day I wanted to do some racing and I had to re-download my Midnight Club add-ons all over again.
All I can say is whenever the next gen consoles come out console manufactures need to ship these consoles with at least 1TB of HDD space especially for the people that like to download from XBLA/PSN so they can play their games directly from the HDD...

I wouldn't say they need to ship the next gen consoles with 1TB HD's, but I would say that Microsoft needs to loosen up the reigns on their proprietary hardware BS and let you upgrade your own HD like Sony allows you to do on the Ps3.
I'm not saying it's impossible to DIY upgrade the 360 HD because I just did it myself a few weeks ago with a WD1200BEVT, a couple free DL apps and a few hours of time (mainly spent backing up and restoring the stuff off my 20gig Premium model HD)...however, in terms of being easy - it's definitely not.
Meanwhile upgrading my 60gig > 160gig Ps3 drive took about 3 minutes total from unscrewing to formatting and that's the way it SHOULD be.

I guarantee that you wouldn't be saying that if it was a PS3 exclusive.

And if Sony released a PS3 with Nathan Drake’s face plastered across the top, you’d call it mankind’s greatest achievement.

Someone posted earlier that they are saving those bad boys for SE consoles, which sucks because I'm just waiting for MS to stop with the silly fee's of everything so i could own a 360 and play all those games i never got to experience (short of trading PS3 with my cousin for a week to play Mass Effect)
i'll settle for like 30 bucks for Live but making the essentials free.

Expect it to be available. Target stores have been very good indicators of when products are discontinued and/or replaced. They had the blue and pink battery packs on clearance, and sure enough a month later the blue and pink controllers were gone. They had 1600 point cards in the plastic containers on clearance, and a month later, the cards that had to be activated at the register were available.
Where am I going with this? I saw a 60 GB Live pack on clearance for $70, 30% off.

I got my 120GB HDD for 360 from Target for $90 late last year, no bullshit. Although I think they put it on clearance because that particular store chose not to sell those accessories anymore. The battery packs were on clearance, too.

What about 360 owners who've suffered a Red Ring or failed optical drive? I'm sure those with a failed optical drive would love the opportunity to install ALL of their games on the hefty 250gb drive so that they don't have to use their new disc drive as much.
