I like that color Blue and I may just very well get one that color....but damn if I will plaster Crackdown 2 on it....unless they are going to pay ME to advertise it for them by knocking $50+ off the price

So for those of you who own a Zune HD, what's your take on it? I've got an old 30GB Zune that I love, but it's time to upgrade. Is it worth the chunk of change?

Nor can you tell what type of Jeans I wear unless you see the tag inside of them....about the ONLY thing I wear that you can tell what it is are My Jordans, timberlands, and Steve Maddens.....

Trust and believe if I could go to K-Mart or FOOT LOCKER for that matter and buy some shoes I would

I LOVE my Zune HD. Don't listen to all the iHype. MS is smart for managing their own applications and they'll release eventually but the best feature of all is that it's not an iProduct. I (like a few others) refuse to dick around in iTunes and if you're like me and prefer to buy or download your music from other sources, the Zune HD is perfect for that. I've had 1 iPod that lasted about 6 months. I've had 3 Zunes (now 4), all of which work perfectly with battery life as strong as they were out of the box (that's one for my wife, one for me, one for the boat and now the HD). The new software is great and works perfectly with your windows MP3s.

If I wanted apps and gay little games, I'd buy a DS and an iThing. I like my media player to play media, thanks.

Jeez, Chris how old are you? Plain shirts and pants every day? That's something you would hear from an agnst teen. So your telling me you would never where like a mario shirt or a hoodie with NES controller on it?

But anyways, some might call it advertising but each his own right? Its the same price as the regular zune HD and you get to tell people about what ever game is on there. I have a friend that would crazy over the Forza 3 Zune HD, btw.

What's so about advertising for a game you like? The Forza series has been amazing everytime a new one is realeased. Forza 3 looks like its going to be just as good. I just wish more people were into it. So let's say my friend was listening to music off of his For a 3 zuneHD while driving.

A non gamer in the passanger seat might look at his zune and ask what's forza 3. After explain to him how realistic the game and how it teaches new players how to drive properly with a brake line, the non gamer friend will actually consider buying the game. Now ask your self, is that really all that bad? I mean its not like if we'll be advertising for the oprah winfrey show. We'll be adverstising for what we all enjoy doing, video games.

***please excuse the bad grammar and or spelling. I am writing this comment at work from my G1***

YOU may not want it, but that doesn't mean there aren't people who do. I'm glad that I know you don't want it now... I really am. Somehow MY day is better off knowing what a stranger does and doesn't want. Because honestly, your opinion means much to us concerning whether or not you want a Zune that says, "Crackdown 2".

There ARE people who want this shit, but don't take my word for it, look at the marketplace. Star Wars is a movie yet there's T-shirts, coffee mugs... you name it. So, is it so crazy to think that a game MIGHT be on a complimentary product?

I forgot, the point of your post was letting people know your opinion actually, not that it's a crazy idea to etch Crackdown 2 on a Zune HD or something relevant like that. *rolling eyes*

I would do this if they offered something with just the Series name, not the individual title.

Ex, a Gears of War Zune, or a Halo Zune

vs. GoW2 and Halo3ODST specifically...blah blah...

Personally I'd rather have an Xbox360 Zune. I wouldn't have as big a problem advertising the system itself as opposed to an individual game.

But hey, fanboys will be fanboys.

For what it's worth, this is probably the best (and most constructive) comment I've read. It would be MUCH more relevant to advertise the series instead of the individual games.

One might say, Microsoft is banking on you trading up your Zune by the time the next game in those series comes out... I know Apple banks on people upgrading ;)

That's what I wished about the MW2 XBox 360 Special Edition Bundle. I wish it just had Modern Warfare on it, not the number 2. I wish they could've labeled it with the series name, not a single title's name in the series.

Hmm, so they only offer 4 colors for the Xbox series of inscriptions and few of them really match up with the games. For example....

The red goes with Gears
The blue goes with Crackdown

But they don't have an orange for Forza
Or a black or "spartan" green to go with ODST...

the zunes are not designed around the xbox game logos, rather the other way around.

Ya know, no one's forcing you to state the obvious...

Brand loyalty means I have purchased the brand products several times, have enjoyed my experience with them, and trust that future purchases of their products will yield further enjoyment. It does NOT mean I will be a mindless Apple drone who will buy every piece of tech the release simply because they have the Apple logo stamped on them.

I've owned an iPod for years and I have used my gf's Zune on many occasions. I prefer the iPod line.

Thought about a iPod Touch. I like the availability of apps and the hardware itself--but I can't get past iTunes. Can't stand it--and it can cause some issues when all of your media is on a NAS.

My gf has the last generation 30gb Zune and it's really great. I like being able to output video, the Zune software is nice (cover art searches that actually work!), and it's a great product.

Thing is, I've been using iPod/iTunes for years with very few (if any) problems. I'm comfortable with it and it appeals to me aesthetically more than the Zune line.

Yes, but old Zune =/= Zune HD. Just like iPod Video =/= iPod Touch. Seriously, do yourself a favor and give it a test drive. If I didn't already have an iPhone 3gs 16gb, I'd buy a Zune HD for a PMP, no question. Heck, I have had 3 iPhones and a 30gb iPod, never had a Zune but I'm ready to jump ship to Zune-land for this sexy thang.

Timidien, I'm planning on upgrading my old Zune and I'm having the same conundrum you're facing.

If features like HD Radio, Zune Pass, HD video output, etc. don't sell you, it's a tough matchup between the Zune and iPod Touch. The Touch has a big advantage with the open software marketplace.

Getting the Zune "to be different" is about as smart as getting an iPod "because everyone else does".

I really like the improvements made to the Zune software recently, and I prefer its interface to iTunes, but the latter has come a long way since I last used it, and it still has features missing from Zune software (volume normalization, equalizer).

I think I'm going with the Zune HD, but it's a close call.

Yeah you don't have to have the inscription in order to get a particular color. Don't see what all the fuss is about, every time you mention a product your basically advertising it.

They're not going to do that until it's sucessful enough in the US.

The HD does seem like a really great product, and this one is at least not outdated before it's even launched. So hopefully it does well enough to see a release in Canada and Europe.
