To be honest, the only reason this grates on the ears is the accent, and the accent exists because the character selected to narrate is the cowgirl, and the cowgirl was probably selected because that's likely the one who narrated in the Japanese version of the promo. As for why the cowgirl sounds like this . . . she's the anime stereotype of an American cowgirl! Even in Japanese, they sound absurd. They speak Japanese strangely, or they use lots of Engrish. Except Rushuna Tendo (granted, she was not specifically an American cowgirl).

That has got to be the most atrociously painful, so-called, Texan accent. I have not, in a single day that I've lived here, heard anyone talk like that... ever!

It hurts... so... much...

I've lived in Florida and Tennessee. There really are people who talk like that. Including the overzealous excitement, mind you.

Haha, if she indeed is Texan, then I gotta get around and see the state. I seriously, have NEVER heard anyone talk like that, in my whole 14 years of living here.

I'll buy this, solely to convince SEGA of America to bring the rest of the series themselves.

This series seems like it got stuck in the 90s.

But since I really love Skies of Arcadia, and also love Valkyria Chronicles, am I obligated to buy this?

Eh, I've heard worse Texan accents. Then again, I'm not even all that familiar with them - maybe it's really good and it just sounds cheesy to some of us because "reality is unrealistic". On the other hand, maybe every voice actor attempting to do a Southern accent should first be required to play Starcraft, the best instance of Southern drawl in a game that I'm aware of.

Not a fan of Sakura Wars, but am a fan of good games.
And this looks like a good game.

Cheesy, weak accent/dialect is cheesy and weak.

Also, LOL "dive into".

Oh yeah. Judy from Cowboy Bebop! That's what it made me think of.

It's a very good voice, it has a niche, and is usually used for funny roles and memorable characters!

I wanted to stick hot pokers in my ears and eyes.
Do the Japanese see our culture as insane also?
There's cute and light and then there's watch some of this stuff and want to kill a puppy and smack a baby to counteract and even things out. Yeesh!

I imagine the voice acting in the game is nothing like that, it's NIS after all.
