Wii's Call of Duty 4 now dubbed 'Modern Warfare: Reflex'

Activision: Yeah, we think we're going to call the Wii game just "Modern Warfare," so people know it's the same game you guys made a couple of years ago.

Infinity Ward: ... Huh. Do you realize that we have an inexhaustible amount of cash, a scary amount of weaponry knowledge, a nigh limitless supply of night vision goggles and, as of November 11th, all the free time in the world?

Acti: ... You know, we talked it over --

IW: What, just right now?

Acti: Yeah, yeah, just right now, just this second. And we decided we should call it Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex, just so there's no confusion.

IW: Well, if you're sure.

Why on earth would activision decide to release cod4 for wii, around the same time the sequel is coming to the hd consoles. To me, it just gives the wii a bad rep i e:

"go buy a wii and get a game that came out two years ago, for FULL PRICE! also it looks like crap and (probably) doesn't control as well as the older version. Oh ya and you can't chat online thus throwing away any real team aspect in multiplayer."

I don't get why nintendo thought it would be a good idea to release the wii with inferior hardware. I mean its more expensive than the 360 these days... Yes, its sold more (because of the novelty of motion controls), but soon, the others will have motion as well, rendering the wii as the more expensive, less powerful console, that has shitty ports like this.

This is more Activision milking another one of its franchises amart. Activision is fast becoming the M. Night Shamalyan of the videogame industry. That is, a lot of press, hype, a twist and shit tons angst from consumers.

I should probably go ahead and say this:

Those pictures that were revealed were taken during the pre-Beta of Modern Warfare Wii. Activision has already said the final game will look MUCH better than those screenshots suggest.

Certainly the final build will look better than this. World at War looked better than this. That much was given from the start

worthwhile is incredibly subjective, of course. In 2007, they (Nintendo themselves) had far more than 3 worthwhile games, but the standards of some would reduce that to the bigger 2 of that year (and those wickedly sinful people would discount Radiant Dawn)

This year, however, they're literally on target to put out 5 new games for the system at all. And one of those hardly qualifies (Wii Fit +)

It's not just western developers. Look at all the shitty ports from Eastern developers. Thats a little unfair to act like only western developers put out shitty games and ports.

I think Punch Out came out this year, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Redux, New Super Mario Brothers ... whats the other one on Wii I'm missing? So, counting Punch Out and Wii Sports which have already released there are 3 more good Nintendo first party exclusives? Do we count Wii Fit as a game?

Not a bad end of the year for the Wii in the least bit. I want that new Fatal Frame & SIlent Hill the most. Then, Muramasa ... I just don't play it enough to really buy many games on it for myself because I'm always on the PS3. Not to mention the kidos are always playing something on their Wii. I played that Links Crossbow training and all though there isn't much to it at all it's a fun little time sink.

I'm not saying they're necessarily good (though they all sound good, even Wii Fit Plus, since it adds a Platformer mode), i'm saying that 5 new games is all Nintendo put on the Wii this year period, published by them. Three others, but they're all New Play Control (if we count MP Trilogy as NPC, which you more or less have to)
