Joystiq Podcast 109 - Porcadillo edition
We know we're always saying that we've got a good Joystiq Podcast for you, but this week we can actually say it with a straight face. We've got a lengthy Halo 3: ODST talk and the triumphant return of Spot the Real Wii or DS Game!
We've also got free Uncharted 2 and MAG beta codes, should you need even more reason to listen. Oh, and thanks to Alan Black for the moving photoshop tribute.
... Yes, there's some autotuning. We don't want to talk about it.

Sweet, up early enough to finish listening to before I call it a day at work.
Also, I had my first RROD last night, 2 years and 9 months after getting the old gal, she finally gave up the ghost. I'm now the last of my local friends to lose a 360.
Hog Robbrer @ Sep 18th 2009 3:17PM
That sucks man.
My Xbox stopped working cause of dust before it got the red ring from the Nyko internal cooler thing.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Sep 18th 2009 3:23PM
Wow, that was cutting it pretty close to the 3 year warranty. It always cracks me up when you get a fanboy bragging about how their launch 360 is still up, it's going to suck for them when it dies (not if) and they have to pay to repair it.
Anthony M. @ Sep 22nd 2009 3:39PM
My halo xbox is still going strong with no RROD :o
Shmil @ Sep 18th 2009 3:04PM
Poyod cast! Yeehaw!
ObiBen @ Sep 18th 2009 3:05PM
I usually wait until Monday to listen to the podcast, but I've had such "blah" day the Joystiq podcast is just what I need to cheer me up before 5 PM.
Vegnagun bwf @ Sep 19th 2009 4:21PM
My day can also be described with "blah".
Shagittarius @ Sep 18th 2009 3:06PM
My band and I just wrote a rockin version of Patrick Swayze's "Shes like the Wind" at rehearsal last night, and I swear there was an invisible force behind me while i was playing drums guiding my hands.
Vegnagun bwf @ Sep 19th 2009 4:22PM
That post is heating up.
Obie @ Sep 18th 2009 3:06PM
Man, I totally forgot Swayze was in Point Break, that movie is awesome.
So awesome I wanna shoot my gun in the air and go:
"Nooooooo!"

Misfit Toy @ Sep 18th 2009 3:37PM
I'll never look at Ludwig the same way again.
sirgregmac @ Sep 18th 2009 3:49PM
New Mexico is decent, but cold as hell the last couple of days. And it's not dry at all, if you call 3 straight days of rain dry, then I guess it's dry. I don't live here cuz I want to, but it's still pretty decent, though I wouldn't mind being back home. Welcome to New Mexico Chris, even if it's a few days late.
altron271 @ Sep 18th 2009 3:49PM
Joystiq podcast...best editing ever?
PSN ID: J-Berg @ Sep 18th 2009 3:57PM
The brothers McElroy reunite!! Couldn't be happier to read that.
Storm Eagle [Resident Capcom Megafan] @ Sep 18th 2009 3:57PM
Awesome collage. And with bonus special guest, DSG for good measure!
ranxerox @ Sep 18th 2009 4:03PM
New Mexico is great! Come for the weather, stay for the green chile. We are the state with the highest per capita PhDs. Thank Los Alamos for that.
Shagittarius @ Sep 18th 2009 4:08PM
Too bad the inbreeding levels that off...
The Commenter Formerly Known as (kbomb1upc) @ Sep 18th 2009 4:07PM
"Alien Monsters Bowling Leagues"...man Wii games suck....
The Pie Pieper @ Sep 18th 2009 4:38PM
Justin, you didn't remember.
HandSandwich @ Sep 18th 2009 4:58PM
If I'd have known that DSG was in Dirty Dancing I wouldn't have been so against watching it
CH3BURASHKA @ Sep 18th 2009 5:16PM
GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OF LUDWIG, SWAYZE!!!
Vegnagun bwf @ Sep 19th 2009 4:20PM
Don't deny him his love.
Rhamsey @ Sep 20th 2009 4:58AM
Nobody puts Ludwig in a corner!
[ArchiGamer] @ Sep 18th 2009 5:19PM
Its seems someone is enjoying Swayze nipping on their ear a bit too much...
Jose @ Sep 18th 2009 7:28PM
While you idiots were talking about dirty dancing, someone snagged up all the codes, and didn't bother to inform us.
DaMan09 @ Sep 18th 2009 7:33PM
DAYM
Ironhammer @ Sep 18th 2009 8:55PM
That Ghost photoshop is the most disturbing (and hilarious) yet! Bravo!
Donald @ Sep 19th 2009 2:04PM
For the Sonic guy: Sonic Mega Collection, available for PS2/Gamecube/Xbox/PC (works on 360 and launch PS3s).
At this point you can probably pick it up for a tenner. It has all the Genesis games and the Sonic and Knuckles lock-on games are unlockable.
Jarvis Slacks @ Sep 19th 2009 2:24PM
A. I look forward to this every week.
B. No one sounds excited about ODST. No one.
C. Autotune. Every episode. Something. Anything. Please.
Vegnagun bwf @ Sep 19th 2009 4:19PM
The reason why less people are commenting on the podcast is because every week more and more people get brushed with fame and they don't want to comment anymore. Why post the comment when you've already got the milk? The brush.
zodduska @ Sep 20th 2009 2:21AM
I can't wait to finally get Satisfaction..
Rhamsey @ Sep 20th 2009 2:51AM
I love how there is just awkward silence where Justin was supposed to put in the sound effect. Just made me laugh.
Rhamsey @ Sep 20th 2009 4:55AM
Sweet, Brush with FAME!!
juliusdeane (Jarret) @ Sep 20th 2009 5:04PM
No Do It Line this week, either. I think I'd have preferred the ODST interview as a separate post, but I don't think the Joystiq P is something you can ever really complain about much. I loved the return of the DS challenge!
Ben! @ Sep 21st 2009 11:00AM
These are always worth listening to, but your insistence on saying that you "solved" a game instead of beat it (presumably because of that jerk from Criterion) is really annoying. Stop it.
shadow763 @ Sep 22nd 2009 4:56AM
Oooooo baby....that ear nibbling is so so sexy!
Scotterotty @ Sep 22nd 2009 10:40AM
Another awesome podcast! Justin, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and record an entire hip-hop album, please. Thaaaaanks.
Courtney @ Sep 22nd 2009 5:03PM
On inFamous, I disagree that the end was foreshadowed. There are clearly hints that there is more going on than meets the eye, but there I didn't catch anything that really prepared you for what the twist at the end is (not even in hindsight).
I had a ton of fun with the game, just the ending could have not existed. Felt like they were going for that "OMG, can you believe that" twist ending, and it just came off as "Really, that's...that's what was going on."
whiskeyseven @ Sep 25th 2009 1:44PM
man, i was kind of hoping they guys would DO IT LIVE again this friday morning! it's been a while...
