If there's one thing NCSoft knows how to do, it's shut down a game... or two... or three.

Well, at least with Guild Wars, they're getting a better game for free.

MMO's are crap sandwiches in general. Users should be accustomed to that by now.

As far as I can tell they no longer allow any new accounts, either free or paid. Why keep the server running for another three months and not let any new people play during that time?

Because they don't want people to join for the free 30 days of whatever

This game was a nice distraction for when you got bored of WOW or whatever other MMO you play. The game design makes fun of other MMOs with its naming schemes. You can get a "Uber amazing long sword of pure pwnage" or other silly named weapons. It also had camera controls like modern MMOs, but the play style was exactly like Diablo 2.

I will miss it, but I only played the free version so I can understand why its getting shut down. Blizzard already gets my money every month.

It had some nice ideas, like armour starting at cardboard, and some of the odder quests and the like, but it never really knew where to take it.

I'm happy to see that I could compel you to return from your nine-month dormancy to post a grammatical failure.

Too bad, it was refreshing to see an MMO that didn't take itself seriously. At all seriously, actually.

DR was actually one of the better MMOs out there. It was MMO lite, sure, but still good. Yet UO STILL exists...

Eh, I'm more excited for Guild Wars 2, even though no one has a clue when it will be released.
