I have this game for the PC, awesome game, but the controls suck ASS!! And you can't change them! Grid did this MUCH better. Game is good, but I can't continue playing it. Waste of $$$....I mean Bandwidth...
Cheesus(Crust) @ Sep 18th 2009 5:44PM
On second thought, I DO mean $$$
phobic99 @ Sep 18th 2009 5:48PM
Because you already pay for the bandwidth right? Mmm hmm...
googleadam @ Sep 18th 2009 5:55PM
I'll take that copy if you dont want it :) haha

TachiFoxy @ Sep 18th 2009 8:51PM
You can change the controls on the PC-game.
(Fail Firefox)
whookid @ Sep 18th 2009 10:30PM
Controls do indeed suck ass on this game, just uninstalled it and returned it to.... yeah...
PR0F3TA (PSN - PROPHETA) @ Sep 18th 2009 5:52PM
Another NFS game? I loved Hot Pursuit and Underground, but maybe thy should take it easy with the series for a while. Like Skate, i heard Skate 3 is coming out soon.... =\
SoulBlade @ Sep 18th 2009 9:48PM
actually i think more than a few reviews have said this was a good revamp of the series. they definitely put it on the shelf for a bit. im looking forward to the demo - HP2 was my last fav NFS.

After reading the headline the first thing that came to my mind was...
"I should go play some more DiRT 2."
handlas @ Sep 18th 2009 6:14PM
interesting. I saw a hot guy on TV today and the first thing that came to my mind was "I should go jerk off to some gay porn".
Durden @ Sep 18th 2009 6:14PM
God I love Dirt 2. I'm about 50% through the career. I keep getting sidetracked by the awesome multiplayer!

PC gamers have to wait until much later for Dirt 2, because of DX11.
Ruwan Tilakaratna @ Sep 18th 2009 5:56PM
I tried this game for PSP and it sucks. You are confined to racing on tracks rather than streets like burnout. Not even gonna bother with 360 version.
Jose @ Sep 18th 2009 5:57PM
Thanks for the Demos EA. The FIFA 10 demo convinced me I want PES 2010, and this one's selling me on Dirt 2.
Halo Pony @ Sep 18th 2009 6:10PM
I'll wait for GT5 later this year.
The definitive racing game of this generation.
Snowblind @ Sep 18th 2009 6:23PM
I find it amusing that you're trying to insult Halo fanboys with your username, yet you yourself are far worse than any Halo fan I've ever seen (including the screaming 12 year olds one live) and are yourself the physical manifistation of a "Sony pony".
Mazrael @ Sep 18th 2009 6:14PM
They still make NFS..? it's only ever scum-types that have asked me if we have that in stock
Snowblind @ Sep 18th 2009 6:19PM
Releasing a demo before release would really help..
But Dirt 2 was just released, which I'd probably buy right now if I had the money. But as it is I'd rather wait for Forza. With no way to even try out NFS to see if I liked it better than Dirt, there's not much I can do.
Double J @ Sep 18th 2009 6:33PM
I think racing has always been my genre of choice outside of platformer and puzzle games, and I have to admit, while Gran Turismo is the game in which all racing games are compared to for me, I'm really really enjoying Shift. It's got a really nice feel to it blending arcade and sim controls into some sort of alchemical monster that feels good and the racing feels fast and I like being rewarded on whether I'm a precision driver or a dirty driver. Plus it's got a delightful British man as your team manager talking to you, so that's a win.
Double J @ Sep 18th 2009 6:35PM
I'm not saying it's anything like a Gran Turismo or a Forza, but it's a really competent and extremely enjoyable racing game that doesn't feel like it's bogged down with a gimmick or emphasis on any one particular thing, even if the incredible cockpit view is it's gimmick.
Dirty @ Sep 18th 2009 8:02PM
Agreed, I think Dirt 2 was a bit more fun to drive, but I like the customization and upgrading in this. Really for me its just a nice warm up for forza.
It is an actual good NFS game.
Rob @ Sep 18th 2009 6:37PM
I can't think of a better way to get people interested in the game than releasing a demo a month after release, a month after everyone and their grandma has already reviewed and picked apart the game heavily influencing anyone's consideration of purchasing it.
If you don't release a demo at or before launch, don't bother.
Durden @ Sep 18th 2009 8:57PM
I see your point but this game is getting good reviews across the board. I think racing fans will try a demo to a game being hailed as "the best NFS in years" and "great sim with just the right amount of arcade" whether its before release or not.
lanternfolk @ Sep 18th 2009 7:21PM
They do seem to throw these games out really quickly!!
Just watched a preview vid of it.....looks good from cockpit view!
TachiFoxy @ Sep 18th 2009 8:50PM
Uh, you can change your controls in NFS Shift for PC...
Bryan @ Sep 18th 2009 9:30PM
I have this game. It is amazing. WAY better than anything the NFS franchise has done lately, trust me! It's nothing like their latest shit games. Get this if you are a fan of serious racing games. It's beautiful and the controls are superb. The only thing bad about this game is NO CAR DAMAGE! But that's just so we can have our precious Ferraris..
Einhanderkiller @ Sep 19th 2009 1:46AM
There is car damage...?
I definitely saw my car get smashed up.
Satn @ Sep 19th 2009 2:10AM
well, if the demo is accurate, the car damage is mostly cosmetic and effects the car in a very minor way.
I did a 140mph crash into a guardrail and all it did was ruin some body work and make the car drift to the left a little.
Still very fun though, more fun than forza2 driving is to me (driving is the only thing i can compare, no paint room in demo or customization)
Captain Underpants @ Sep 18th 2009 9:32PM
It would have been nice to see the demo earlier, but in the same week as release isn't too bad. It may not influence your decision to buy the game as much, but it at least lets you see how well in will run on your system.
t_m @ Sep 18th 2009 10:59PM
This game is awesome, but you HAVE to play it from the in-car view.
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Sep 19th 2009 5:27AM
I don't need a demo, just want to rent it to make sure it's awesome as everyone says and I'll be snapping it up. It looks awesome, in-car especially.
Barry32171 @ Sep 19th 2009 8:09PM
I'm hoping that this might be better than NFS: Most Wanted... Hasn't been a good NFS since.
seb640 @ Sep 21st 2009 3:18PM
I rented NFS Shift last week, because, first : I had nothing else to do (besides day-to-day grind...) AND i only rented it because it lacked a demo...
To give a bit of perspective, i've actually done 50miles and a lot of phone calls on the 15th just to go get DiRT2, ONLY because of the demo !
