To reiterate, this feature is not newly discovered, but one actually listed prominently in the Press Release about the PSP Go from back in June when it was announced at E3: http://www.thewidgets.com/gamerblahhhg/?p=41

The more I learn about the PSP GO...the more I think its going to be a flop.

1. Overpriced......
2. No reason for existing PSP Owners to ugprade
3. No way to transfer existing UMD Library to unit
4. Other than a profit on the hardware (which will be minimal)....retailers have no real incentive to carry the system other than the possible profits on accessories (no retail games)
5. Given the size of Games on UMDs for original PSP, videos, music, etc.....that 16GBs isnt going to be a lot of storage.....and Memory Stick Micro is new format to purchase???

>> 3. No way to transfer existing UMD Library to unit

This is my biggest gripe. I have two PSPs, a phat and a 2000 slim, both of which had CFW on them because I hate carrying around the discs (and no, I don't pirate games).

I recently had to install the official firmware on the phat so I could play Soul Calibur. Not ideal, but I really only ever take the slim with me anywhere, so whatever.

Back to my point, I would absolutely buy a PSPGo so I could have UMD-less play and official firmware IF, and ONLY IF, I had a way to transfer my UMDs or ISOs of them to the Go. And I'm not sending in my pristine discs into Sony - they are my back ups should the ISOs ever crap the bed or my PSP get stolen.

I've spent ridiculous amounts of money on my game library and I'm not going to trade in the physical embodiment of that money for the Go. Same reason I still buy CDs.

Am I the only person concerned about old psp games being available ont he psp go. This is the only thing keeping me from knowing if I will buy a Go or not. So far I have yet to see a list of current psp games that will be downloadable for the psp go upon launch, or atleast in the near future. The Psp Go has a lot of potential, but I don't know if Sony is smart enough to make use of that.
