To be more specific -- and much less acronymic -- it appears that the super speedy Xbox 360 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter has been spotted on a promotional flier inside the Italian version of the Gears of War 2 Game of the Year edition. Italian gaming site Mondobox.com (translation) posted an image of the leaflet, which you can see above. Assuming it's authentic, it seems to indicate that both the original 802.11a/b/g and 802.11n adapter will continue to exist in the same market. And that, hopefully, indicates a price drop on the ridiculously overpriced original adapter.
We've contacted Microsoft about the peripheral and will update this post with new information if and when we receive it.

Yep, saw that.
But Microsoft pricing is such a great joke, it doesn't hurt to make it again. :)

While I agree that it's probably going to be expensive, maybe around $150 or so, has anyone actually seen the price of this yet?
No one will doubt that their previous wireless adapter at $100 was insanely expensive, and with no price drop, of course it can lead some of us to believe that the price of this will be insanely high.
With that said, there is always the chance that they will sell this for less and then drop the price of the regular one just like they did with the Elite and Pro.
And to answer your questions, yes, I like to dream.

Dude, what! If this is true, it's great, but it's a complete dick move to bundle a better version of a product for less than a lesser, comparable product. Thank you, but fuck you.

I really hope this means a proce cut for the a/b/g version. I don't have an n router and probably won't for awhile, and I just want the damn thing to NOT be so expensive

I'm hoping they lower the price of the g version, move this into that ones price range.
But not just until supplies run out like they're doing with the 60gb 360.

@BunnySlapper:
The Datel card only came out this year. I got my 512MB card two years ago. "Looking around more" wouldn't have found it then.
Still, $30 for the 512MB card (perhaps I should have been more clear, but "remember what company" meant "Microsoft", not some third party) is more than I paid then. And it's still too much, especially when, two years ago, you could get 1GB of flash memory for half that price; and today, you can find 8GB sticks for that price without even trying.

It says dual band, which indicates that it is a 2.4 and 5 Ghz device. Be aware though the 5 Ghz is intended for short range and will not reach as far as 2.4. 5 Ghz dosen't work well in my house, it's too big.
Glad to see they are bringing this out though. They should include it free with the MW2 250Gb bundle. I would def lay down the chedder for that.

I just have mine hardwired.
The router is right next to my PS3 and 360, so I keep them both hardwired. Keeps lag to a minimum and never drops a connection, unless I lose my internet.
So I stay away from MS's overpriced antennas. PC wireless N antennas are about $30-$60, why would I wanna pay triple that for a feature that I can currently live without?

This whole Xbox 360 thing sets such a BAD Precedent! It says that a certain segment of the console gaming community will except any piece of poorly designed, rushed, problem prone crap and we will gladly buy and defend it?! Not to mention the endless nickle and dimeing with over priced add-ons like HDDVD drive (epic format fail), console specific HDDs and Wifi adapters. Now don't get me wrong. The software library is fine. Its just that the hardware SUX AZZ! And there are people constantly defending it! So don't be surprised if the next round of 4th Gen consoles are problem prone basic boxes with endless overpriced add-ons. And I don't just mean MS either. I'm sure there is some bean counter at Sony and Nintendo thinking "hey they took crap from MS so why not take it from us". The Xbox 360 should have been shunned the first time MS admitted that there was an inherent design problem, SHUNNED! Just remember, WE BROUGHT IT ON OURSELVES!
