Your PSP fits in your pocket? I guess you're one of those people that can fit the Vaio P in your pocket as well.

The Vaio P fits better in a pocket than the stack of bills needed to buy it.

I totally thought that the PSP was going to wipe the floor with the DS so my opinion is probably worthless, but the PSPGo will flop badly. I have 2 PSPs and use them all the time and over 50 original boxed games and heaps of my DVDs converted to PSP(UMD movies are overpriced). Does the new screen have the interlace effect?

From the little I've read, it seems as though not only does it NOT have the interlace effect, it also doesn't have any ghosting.

That alone makes this far superior to any other model PSP, in my book. I took one glance at the 3000's screen and backed away slowly.

On the 3000 you can turn the interlace effect off. It's a tradeoff between a brighter screen and interlacing or a darker screen and ghosting. To be honest it doesn't really bother me at all.

The interlacing in the PSP 3000 doesn't bother me either. To each his own, though, but I'm definitely happy with my 3000. Sixteen Gigs of internal memory is probably the only thing appealing to me about the Go, but I don't think it's worth the money. Plus most of the time I'm traveling, I bring one or two games and I'm satisfied.

I'm tempted, but I haven't owned a handheld since my gba. While they house some great games, I just end up playing them at home where I have my consoles, where imo the best games are.

Yeah that Lilac/Purple PS3 is mad sexy. I want one so damn bad because of the color. I have the piano black 3000 which is also pretty sexy having that glossy-shiny-black finish. I also like the carnival colored PSPs that were released in japan.

@Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami)

Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He even had to retire from acting because the Parkinson's was getting worse.

If you don't know what Parkinson's is, it is a degenerative disorder where the person slowly loses control of their normal bodily functions.

So for F TANK to make fun of him is a totally dickfuck move.

Yeah! ^_^ I don't care for Hannah Montana, but the PSP is my favorite color of all time so I had to get it. I'm glad, its a great PSP, the screen colors are bright, and the purple case is slightly sparkly.

Yeah, that money doesn't belong to Sony or the people who made the game.

That's Gamestop's money, Sony!

Although the same price as retail does suck, I am much happier giving that money to Sony and the devs than GameStop. GameStop is one of the shadiest places I've ever had to deal with. Out of about 10 GameStops in my area, there are at least 3 or 4 that just have terrible employees with poor customer service skills. Usually the managers at those stores are the biggest a-holes of them all.

This isn't really about savings this about better portability in a smaller form factor. While I think $199 would be a better launch price I'm still thinking about picking one up and thats saying something because I have a 3000. As much as I love the PSP it's not the easiest thing to tote around. This is nice because I could just throw it in a small sleeve case or something like an Oakley bag and carry it in my pocket opposed to in a larger exterior case like the 3000. Even though the 3000 is super lite it's also pretty long which requires a carrying case.

er.....ok....I'm really not commenting about gamestop...i'm just saying about the PSPGO's and downloadable game's pricing...

I find it absurd when u take less resources to make these two things, it cost more (PSPGO) or the same price(games) of current versions of the PSP and UMD games...

I guess it will be easy enough for you not to buy it then. Instead, you can support GameStop (regardless of whether or not you meant that) while they rip you off worse by giving you $2 for a game that they will sell for $19.99 or selling you a game for $54.99 that they bought for $25 (amongst other scams ex. EDGE cards). I doubt Sony is going to be banking the whole format on whether or not you buy into it.

I prefer not having a physical media because of portability reasons. The PSP GO is all about portability and just because there are less materials doesn't necessarily mean the games should much cheaper. Besides, we haven't seen the pricing on new games released on the PSN & UMD. So, we won't really know if there will be a pricing difference until those games release. I don't think you can compare the handful of games that have been released thus far as an indicator on future pricing structures after the GO is released.

@johnny hmm i guess the game thing was an oversight on my part. but still i disagree with the go's price point ._. it's just unrealistic. to put it blatantly it's similar to the PS3's pricing when it was released. some ppl are still gonna buy it but, majority are gonna be turned off IMO

PSPs haven't come with that for a while. The original one did but I think only the entertainment bundles come with that stuff now. I bought a core 3000 bundle and it only came with the power chord, USB and the PSP.

OK, so when you buy a game from the PS Store, and then transfer it to your PSP Go... how does the Store know when you're transferring it to your PSP Go, versus another person's?

I mean, if I buy 5 PSP Gos... can I transfer a single game purchase to all 5 PSP Gos?

Currently with the PS3 downloadables games, I can download games to 5 separate PS3s. This is apparently approved by Sony's President himself, so it's not illegal. Is the same policy in effect for the PSP Go?

I know the PSPs now can log into the PSN so maybe you need the same PSN account tied to the PSP. I know you have to register the PSP with the PS3 before you can transfer your games to it. It's probably the same rule about 5 PSPs that can have the same PSN account. I can't say for certain but thats been my experience.

PSP + Media Go software (free) = download any PSP game just like the PSP Go from Windows PC. Plus play UMD.

PSP Go: $250
16GB storage. Bluetooth. Smaller size. 3.8 inch screen. Non-removable battery.

PSP: $170
PSP and 16GB Memory Stick Pro Duo to match storage on PSP Go (add $65-$70) = $235-$240
Larger 4.3 inch screen. Removable batteries (carry a spare and replace aging battery when it can no longer hold suitable charge). More comfortable controls. Less compact.

* Both download games identically (please stop thinking the PSP only does UMD, or that the PSP Go is introducing something new by downloading).
* The downloaded games are identical and play identically in all PSP hardware. No changes.

The choice is yours.

I'd buy one just because it looks like a nice piece of hardware but I only play a very few amount of PSP game already and with the steep price of $250 well I could just buy a PS3. I'll wait to see how they hold the PSP Go up or if it gets a price drop.

I almost forgot about this. To me, it's not the hardware or games (I like the idea of no UMD that should be faster)...

If it can have some more APPS. Essentially making it the choice over any Apple product, which can't touch the gaming power as it is but I don't really buy stuff based on games any more. I want something useful.

Definitely keeping an eye on this.

Also, from what I've noticed on the current PSP firmware...

You set up an account online or with the PSP. You activate it with your profile. Then, you can set up to buy games or just download demos and stuff. I would be very careful about setting up to buy games and things on the PSP because if you lose it you might be buying some games for someone else until you deactivate it in time.

I haven't actually bought any game downloads (they are already available you don't have to get the psp go). But it's probably safe and makes you log in details and passwords for purchases.
