Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day, everyone! We hope you've celebrated appropriately -- by discussing the benefits of IP blocking software and remote relay points for worry-free torrent distribution. Just kidding! Piracy is illegal. If you do it, your mom will get brutalized by a SWAT team, you'll be attacked by push broom-wielding inmates, and Klingons will make disparaging comments about your illicit behavior. Trust us on this one.

The joke wasn't really about Kirby transforming. It just contained kirby transforming. The joke was that King Dedede was playing Scribblenauts, and he summoned Kirby, and then he summoned himself, and the Scribblenauts AI had Kirby eat him. And he was unhappy about that.

I don't like BitF, and don't think I've ever voted for it, but fair's fair... this was a joke containing, but not about, Kirby transforming into something.

I loved Virtual Shackles comic more than the others.

Also, I now have that song in my head!!

Yeah, Virtual Shackles was hilarious. I thought the others were funny, but that one actually made me laugh.

I don't either, but I figured that just because I don't play TF2.

Newest TF2 update allows the heavy to throw the sandvich on the ground, allowing teammates to regain 50% health, so the heavy gave his sandvich to his medic, even though the medic regens health.

It was an adorable chibi medic, I would have done the same.

yeah i got all that put i didnt understand why the medic was a little girl

virtual shackles was hilarious. the TF2 comic was my second favorite since i have a soft spot for the heavy. and *shock* BitF went for the kirby transformation joke again.

as a diehard TF2 fan... i had to go with Caring is Sharing... i know it wasn't funny, but it was heart-warming. ^_^

and the spy sneaking up on the sniper in the last panel is pretty awesome too.

Holy shit, stop nominating BitF.

BitF is continually funny. Maybe not funny enough to win but it definitely deserves a spot. A few others this week though, including penny arcade, were completely unintelligible.

I don't really like it either, but at least it relates to videogames... Penny Arcade doesn't seem to belong on the list at all this week...

Never played Animal Crossing?

I always enjoy BitF. Perhaps you just don't enjoy Nintendo characters?

Virtual Shackles or GG Guys for sure.

Digital Unrest just took the easy way out, and it wasn't even all that clever as well. They should've just ran a normal comic and at the last frame before the end put in there "Digital Unrest is ok, and I'll let you finish, but BitF had the best comic ever"

By the way, I'm voting again by not voting. They all sucked ass in my opinion. Sorry.

Really? Compared to past weeks, some of these are -actually- funny.

Except DU; its just took the easy way out.

I hardly ever find them funny, to be honest. Last weeks Wario thing made me laugh somewhat, sometimes BiTF has some clever ones. I don't know. I'm like clever kind of humor, like David Hinkles Braid april fools joke no one got:

This one easily goes to Virtual Shackles. imagine poor Link- "Hey, Listen! Hey, Listen!" i'd develop a chemical dependency, too. but i don't know who the guy next to Link was, with the dark hair. can someone enlighten me?

Who are the other two guys besides Kirby, Link and Mario in VS?

One of them looks like Bane. No idea who the other guy is, though.

BITF was the best, that or the Sonic comic. The rodent gets such a a rough ride, deservedly so, but still.

For this week's nominees, Virtual Shackle barely takes it from GG Guys. Raccoon Tail Mario and obese Kirby win this round.

Meh... Maybe if the joke were changed to have in-game drawings for all but the last frame and then have a nice boring line be the punchline to bring us back to reality.

Ooooh or even the other way around and make the last frame totally in-game with Bats standing over a downed henchman.

So I just tripped over an Xbox controller cable and nudged my Xbox, causing it to make a circumferential scratch towards the outside edge of my Beatles Rock Band disc and making it unplayable. I just bought it from GameStop on launch day with a pre-order. Any chance they'll give me a replacement (I read somewhere about people getting replacements due to publishers being aware of the stupid 360 disc scratching issue)? Any advice other than that?

Call gamestop, worth a try and its only a phone call.

if there is a Play N Trade or Gamer Doc franchise near you, take it there, they should be able to repair the disc to like-new condition.

I had to go with GG because I am that broken, battered Sonic fan.

One of the strongest weeks in a LONG time!

New Sonic Game!!! was actually pretty funny, especially since I know someone that does that pretty much constantly.

The rest were garbage, even the usually-creative Brawl In The Family.

xkcd was one of the simplest comics this week. how didn't you understand it?

1. the LHC was a really big thing in the media. everyone thought it was going to make a black hole and destroy the world. that's why she says "and it makes a black hole! this game rules!"
2. the guy says it's alright for a _kid's_ game.
3. she types in pretentious asshole and it spawns the guy. that's the joke. not that hard to figure out.
