Sega has seemingly forgotten that Tokyo Game Show hasn't started yet, by releasing a brand new trailer for its upcoming Resonance of Fate (aka End of Eternity in Japan). Tri-Ace is breaking the JRPG norm by creating a trailer that isn't entirely comprised of CG cutscenes. There is a lot of gameplay footage here -- and as noted earlier, it's bizarre.
Resonance of Fate creates a rather distinct look for itself by giving its main characters guns, and moves that would make Chow Yun-Fat jealous. It's entirely over-the-top, and gives the game an original feel missing from tri-Ace's previousworks. It'll be interesting to see if Japanese gamers will pry themselves away from Final Fantasy XIII long enough to give this game a fair shake.
Are you talking about Knights in the Nightmare? That's a DS game. The portable consoles have had a TON of great rpg's, I'm talking about the consoles. ;)
They just put that 'western' (read: grey & guns) twist on their game. Hell I'll buy it, although it looks really weird having an all gun mechanic in a Jrpg. We'll see... I'll buy it... but we'll see if it works.
hmmm this one i am not sure but it dose seem like fun. JRPG are best i think and most of there ways but now in days am not sure about RPGs anymore will see how FF13 gose this dec i be getting it. i wish they made a chorno trigger remake or diffirent way of the series or secret of mana series god miss the old jRPGs! even i own them still want something new with those series FF is going a lil to far when is the final LOL.
It's supposed to be marketed to western audiences, but it has a lot of unique flair that I enjoy. Or maybe that's because I'm a westerner. Bah. It's working.
well as long as they mix up the weapons enough to keep it interesting e.g. miniguns, rocket launchers, shotguns etc...and the battle sequences don't get to routine too quickly then they have my money...
Naw av, not enough inner-angst, and definitely not enough fluffy collar jackets...
And chuck, damnit you are right. He was the best character out of FF7 personally, and hell I bet he could give Dante and Nero a run for their money. I remember the Bahamut Sin fight in Advent Children, while everyone was beating around the bush, he was right on top of Sin the entire time, blasting away at it. He may not of taken it down, but he never unleashed Chaos on Sin either so =P

Fun Factor It's an RPG Shooter! That should be fun. I wanna see them characters actually reloading their guns. I wanna see a man's gun like Magnums & RPGs not just some sissy guns like these.
So far this is the only RPG that matters.
I was so disgusted by that badly designed poor afro guy in FFXIII. Its so insulting and not funny Tetsuya Nomura. I hope this game trumps FFXIII.
