How is it that every time we run a Swag Saturday/Sunday post for a Nintendo Wii game, it's something wonderful? Last time we offered you Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, and this week we're treating one lucky winner to a copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy! To get your hands on it, leave a comment below telling us your favorite moment in the Metroid series -- yes, you can go all the way back to NES. We'll pick one answer at random tomorrow evening to receive the fancy "Collector's Edition" you see above. One stipulation: Automatic disqualification should your answer include the Zero Suit in any way. You know why, ya scoundrels!

Metroid 2 on the Gameboy. The amount they packed into that game was simply incredible.

my favorite moment was either when Samus got the Phazon suit dropped on her or when the Metroid revived her in Super Metroid giving her godly beam powers

The not-quite-a-baby-anymore Metroid sacrificing itself to defend Samus during the final boss battle of Super Metroid, and Samus getting sweet sweet vengeance afterwards.

After beating the first game, discovering that Samus was a girl. Blew my mind!

hard to pick just one...I'd say either saving the dachora's and etecoons in Super Metroid or any of the number of awesome shinespark puzzles in Zero Mission.

The first time a cute little baby Metroid latched onto my face and tried to suck my brain out!

The only right answer is the ghost ship in Super Metroid. Right? I mean when you fight that ghost and all the power comes back on? AWESOME!

Hmmm....well, I'd have to say my favorite moment is the entire end of the original Metroid on NES.

The epic battle with Mother Brain where the odds are stacked against you with all those missile launchers, shield batteries, and such is easily still one of my favorite boss encounters EVAR. But the best part was yet to come, and shocked the hell out of me...b/c after you defeat Mother Brain the game isn't over!!! NOOOO! Then you have to jump your way up that ridiculous room with all the platforms, while being timed, only to reach the top and find out that.....

Samus is a woman!!! OMFG

Metroid Prime. The transition to 3D was amazing.

Fleeing in terror from Samus X in Metroid Fusion.

Playing Metroid Prime Hunters online for the first time. I was stunned how well the DS could do an online FPS... even without voice chat and with friend codes.

In Metroid Fusion, all the super creepy run ins with the SA-X and just how powerless you felt until you finally finished it off.

I'm really happy for you, and imma let you finish, but Contra was one of the best schmups of ALL TIME!! OF ALL TIME!!!

Figuring out how to bomb-jump effectively.

My answer isn't anything that special but... using the morph ball for the first time in the original Metroid has always been the most memorable moment for me.

The final boss of Super Metroid 2 when the metroid comes out of nowhere to save your life.

My favorite part was when I FINALLY wall-jumped a billion times in a row on Super Metroid. You know the part where the elf... things are showing you how to do it?

I still have problems with that part to this day.

My favorite part in any of the Metroid games was in Metroid Prime. I thought the whole Phendrana Drifts level was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in a video game. The whole level, especially on the cliffs, was just fantastic graphically. Just like the first time I played Super Mario 64.

Having to gain back all my weapons/abilities every game. Oh wait, that's my LEAST favorite thing.

Favorite moment for me is easily in Super Metroid when Mother Brain is about to beat you, and the metroid comes to save you. As a kid, I was definitely not expecting it.

I loved when I was finally able to morph ball jump to reach high areas.

My Favorite moment was in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Near the beginning of the game when you get into that ridiculously epic fight with Ridley while falling down a long shaft. The fact that your timed, the intensity of the music, and the overall epic feel sold me. Plus with the motion controls made it way more enjoyable.

Two words, "JUSTIN BAILEY". My favorite moments were entering this code over and over again, every time I fired up my NES (after blowing in the cartridge for about five minutes).

Seeing how I've only played Metroid Prime 3, my favorite moment was when Samus became infected.

Metroid fusion and the mutated suit.

Even though I've been with the Metroid series since the beginning, one of my favorite moments is from the more recent Metroid Fusion. The first time you see SA-X walking through the dark corridors of the BSL station, the feeling of being so vulnerable and the slight feeling of fear was one of the coolest feelings I've ever had in any game.

Fighting Mother Brain in Super Metroid was by far the best moment I can recall. Seeing Mother Brain in all that 16 bit glory in the same shell from the nes was awesome, to then see her bust out and get even more uber. One of the greatest moments in the series and stands the testament of time imo.

when I played corruption on the wii, the controls made the game so much fun! I hated the controls on the two gamecube ones.. So i never actually completed them...
If i get it on the wii, I'll be able to beat it with the sweet controls...

In Super Metroid when you are almost defeated by mother brain, the baby metroid from Metroid 2 flys in and sucks the life out of Mother brain. Then Mother Brain gets back up and kills the baby metroid who saved your life :'(
