If our late-night review of Halo 3: ODST filled you with an unbridled desire to purchase the noir-filled shooter, Toys R Us will have quite the deal on the game's launch day. Those willing to travel to the giraffe-approved retailer this Tuesday are eligible to receive an ODST action figure and a $20 gift card with their purchase of the title. We suggest spending the complimentary Geoffrey Bucks on another action figure to keep your lil' trooper company as you spend the next few weeks exploring New Mombasa.
Make sure you don't purchase any Master Chief action figures, though. There's no reason to give the poor guy an inferiority complex.

You can get Sgt. Johnson from Toys R Us as well. Best Buy has a $10 gift card for Gamer's Club members (it's free to join) and you can get $10 instantly off a 12-month Live card if you buy ODST at the same time, although that might only be for online orders.

I'm canceling my gamestop pre-order today. Especially now that I know firefight is friends only. What do I care about playing as Sgt Johnson for if its only with friends. I'm bringing my business to Toys'r'us.

The Amazon Deal is the best in my opinion. If you can find Halo ODST in your Goldbox for $56.99 plus ECA discount since ECA for a year is currently free so thats an additional $6 off since they just round up to the whole dollar value. And then if you use code HALOODST for a $15 Amazon Video Game Credit. Combine this with any existing Amazon Video Game Credits you may already have and by price this is the best deal unless you NEED teh action figures which only cost $12 anyway.

Or when the next major title is released, which you can then get for $40, rather than the usual $60...

That's not true, when I purchased Batman and Scribblenauts from TRU, they both issued a gift card with purchase, which I used right after to purchase another game. They just say the 6 hours because that's what corporate tells them to.

I already answered this below, but I'll repeat it here. The ODST Gift Card is for Toys R Us. The Pizza Hut Gift Card comes with a Wii game called Birthday Party Bash.

Could you use all the ODST gift card to purchase a normal gift card?

Cancel the Gamestop pre-order then. They can't force you to keep it. They don't have any deal for it anyway, right?

And that sir, is why I don't preorder. It's always screwing around with people. I remember when SSBB came out, and when to GameStop to buy it the day it released. I said "Hi, I would like to buy a copy of the new Super Smash Bros." The guy at the desk says, "Did you preorder it?" I say "No." He then says "Well then we don't have one for you." I announced to the whole store that I was going to Walmart to buy it. I got my copy immediately when I asked for it. Screw preordering, it will always leve you jacked in the end.

Reading the Ad they sent out in the mail, the Gift Card is a Pizza Hut Gift Card. Not a Gift Card to Toys'r'us. Which is a bummer indeed.

You're confusing the gift card offers. The Pizza Hut $20 Gift Card comes with the Wii Birthday Party Bash game.

I didnt even know about the Wii Birthday Party Bash deal. But It is also for the Halo deal, It even says it in the fine print on their online catalog.. Go to view the online catalog, go to the back page, and read the fine print on the deal. It says its a 20 dollar Pizza Hut Gift Card

No, you're missing the little cross symbol next to the Pizza Card ad. That's what links it to the fine print. The ODST gift card doesn't have one. Not to mention that the ODST card says Toys R Us, while the Pizza Hut Card says Pizza Hut.

Ahh okay, well glad i was proven wrong, cause 20 dollar Gift card to Toys'r'us is Way better then to pizza hut.
Now the only question is, Does Toys'r'us have the pre-order bonus of Sgt. Johnson?

Toys R Us has had some of the best deals this year with day one games. They are often offering 20 dollar gift cards with new game purchases. Sure the card can't be used till 6-24 hours after but if you save 3 of them you get a new game for free... and chances are it'll come with a 20 dollar gift card.
