Maybe they got nervous about an impending GT5 elease and didn't want the extra competition....I hope that is the case, cos at least it means Sony have got somewhat even at Acti for Bobby's stupid pulling Sony support quote.

Can't really compare this to GT5.....I mean this isn't really racing Sim as much as it is just racing....right?

with GT, Forza, Need For Speed, Dirt2 it makes sense to release this away from those titles, because all of that might give us racer (whether sim or arcade) fatigue. so many of these titles are supposed to be very very good, high 8s, 9s...

they probably want to throw in the awesomeness that is the cockpit mode of NFS Shift.

My guess is that Kotick got the news that they're gonna release a game that isn't Guitar Hero or Modern Warfare 2. So he's demanded that it get pulled until they're absolutely sure they can't turn it into a Guitar Hero game.

I was personally hoping Blur would continue with the Rock Band DLC route, but I guess if Activision wants to finally hook me, Guitar Hero Blur might do the trick...

I still have to say, I always liked Oasis better then Blur. Although racing around yelling "PARK LIFE" might be interesting.

Oh thank god. I was wondering when I was going to be able to use the 130+ dollars worth of plastic instrument for something other than guitar hero. I cant wait to see how Kotick makes Treyarch fuse Call of Duty 7 into Guitar Hero. Maybe Call of Duty: world at 2er

I must be the only one that's celebrating this. Instead of abusing my bank account to the point of not affording anything else, my purchases are going to be well paced. I have forgotten at this point, though, which noteworthy titles are debuting in early 2010, Bioshock 2 aside.

(for what it's worth, I have no immediate plans to buy this game)

List war! haha, thanks. ME2 and FFXIII are definite purchases, along with Heavy Rain and GOW3 if I have a PS3 by then. And the rest are certainly under consideration.

I used to complain that Burnout didn't have licensed vehicles, but I've always loved their original designs. This game seems cheapened with licenses, both the cars in the screen are the same boring designs I see hundreds of on the freeway to work. If they are going to be over-the-top, they may as well go all out with the vehicle design as well. Bizarre is great at modeling cars, but I'd love to see them design some from scratch.

Maybe Forza's release on October 27th influenced them.

They're two different styles of racer, but to the casual fan they're still both racers... and since Forza comes out first, maybe they (Forza) will get the lion's share of the casual racer fan?

Just my two cents.

It's easy to see through this. With Forza, GT5 and the raft of NFS titles, Blur seems soft of inferior. Smart move by them.

Who are we kidding, does Activision Blizzard really need to make anything other than WoW, GH, and CoD?

I can't wait for this game to come out!

I think it would be pretty great to have multiplayer where ps3 and 360 owners could play against/amongst each other.

I remember playing quake 3 arena on my dreamcast against PC players online! and that was fun.

I'm sure it would be impossibly hard to do, and probably reap little gains, but it would be nice to play a game where you could pretty much guarantee, that at any time you could play with anybody!

it's probably just wishful thinking and the fact that all of my friends have 360s and i have a ps3 :(

That's why I still prefer split-screen multiplayer - who cares what system your friends have, just invite them over and then everyone can play! Heck, it's more fun having a bunch of friends in the same room, anyway...

But, on a side note, I wouldn't hold your breath for cross platform PS3 / 360 mutliplayer, well, ever. That's one way both system manufacturers attract users to their system - people will buy whatever all their friends have so they can play too.

yeah! I noticed a lot of titles on the PSN don't have split screen, 80% of the time it's network multi-player.

A game like GTI-Club would have been a great party game if it had split screen, like you said, it's more fun having a bunch of friends in the same room!

They should of made PGR5 instead.
It was simple, fun and online racing was very competitive, driving won races, not cars.
If i want blast cars with lightning bolts i'll play mario cart.

This game looks promising, still on the fence about it though. I just bought Shift, but after playing it for a few hours, I'll probably sell it due to it 'feeling' too much like GT5 Prologue. And the cockpit view just didn't do it for me.

Looks like GT5 will have a clear path to my racing heart....
