EA Sports: 'How big can football get?' Us: 'Pretty big, we guess?'
108
Showing the far reaching effects of football ("soccer" for us Americans) fandom in a succinct two minute video, EA Sports asks UK residents in its latest ad for FIFA 10, "How big can football get?" From the looks of the insanity in the commercial (found after the break), we're going out on a limb here and saying, "Substantially large." Would you care to up that wager with a "significantly enormous?" Maybe a "demonstrably massive?"

Football (soccer) is waaayyy better than american football, way more exciting.
American football is just lame and pointless.

ok that's just as retarded as americans saying "football" sucks. personally, i would say american football has more frequent, more highly concentrated bursts of excitement, whereas rest-of-the-world football is more steady in terms of excitement, with less frequent bursts of excitement.
tell me, what's so "pointless" about american football?

Homer: [the soccer game has bored everyone to silence] Boring!
Krusty the Clown: Come on, you shnorers! Do something!
Kent Brockman: [bored] Halfback passes to the center. Back to the wing. Back to the center. Center holds it. Holds it. [sighs]
Kent Brockman: Holds it.
Spanish-accented sports commentator: [excited] Halfback passes to center, back to wing, back to center, center holds it! Holds it! Holds It!

Can't wait for this game, it's going to be amazing, i hope. fifa 09 is still all i play.
for the football vs football arguments, relax. watch what you want and stop trying to shove crap down people's faces. I know some europeans only dislike american football b/c its american. They're both pretty interesting sports, and completely different.
also the football vs rugby stuff is crap too. rugby = no pads, true. football = crazy diving into other people, flips and just more hits in general. Basically i wouldn't do neither :)

That happens in Brazil too. I guess that when an entire country celebrates after winning the World Cup, for example, is the proof of how big can footbal get.
By the way, Sport Club Internacional ftw.
