Spike got a five-minute look at the upcoming anime Halo Legends, and (as you'll see for yourself right after the break) it's got all our favorite tropes of the genre: comically exaggerated animations, vaguely effeminate dudes and very weird-looking soups.
Of course, it's also got something else that's going to have your eyes glued to all 298 seconds: Master Chief being a total badass and kicking the living crap out of a Brute. Enjoy.
My anticipation was very high for this. like adium said, i was wanting something more "dark, gritty, stunning to look at" not this Pokemon crap. I'm very disappointed.
That is 4min, 58 seconds of my life I will never get back. This show looks totally stupid (and I like Halo).
The whiny ODST brat at the first of the video needs to be a head shot casualty. He wouldn't have the discipline to be a spec ops dude. Blabbering in a common area about a top secret mission and whining about not getting to be the one to take the shot. Reality check - all missions suck. You don't talk about them before they happen. You carry out your orders, whatever they may be.
This teenage anime writing isn't worthy of a Halo title. Shameful.
this is why westerners view anime as a joke. the last two american series to get one of these collabs did it a whole lot better (the animatrix, gotham knight) so Im not sure what's going on with this one.
as for this being I.G. theyve always been a movie company that makes crappy animated series. its obvious which team got assigned to work on this travesty.
Ok, apparently I didn't exaggerate enough. He's a super soldier, not Neo from the Matrix. Are you arguing for the sake of proving me wrong or do you REALLY think that falls in line with the HALO characters?
For the last time the games don't tell you everything about the Halo universe. Go read the books if you still dont understand how Master Chief just did all that in the video. It says that Master Chief can do all that in the books so are you telling me Bungie is making up shit about their own game? Come on now...
Why does everyone find it so gd hard to believe that a Spartan, a genetically enhanced super soldier, in a suit of armor that is capable of enhancing physical attributes, can't do flips and kicks?
Spartans would be trained on how to be a complete, utter badass with or without a weapon, and, I'm sorry, 'utter badass' in reality does not translate to him being able to bash his Melee button and elbow someone to one-shot them.
ebylon I noticed that before. When final fantasy advent children came out, I went to boards that said, "Why is cloud flying and jumping from buildings that makes no sense". Yet these same people could believe that Cloud could summon a Dragon Out of his ass.......If something isn't shown to certain markets in the world their imagination won't allow them to go beyond what the material has already laid down for them.
Captain Planet, that is EXACTLY how I'd picture Spartans kicking ass. Ok, a somersault, fine, I can deal with that, but this Dragon Ball Z / Golgo 13 shit is a little too much over the top.
I'm not saying that a SOLDIER, let alone a "super" soldier, shouldn't know hand to hand, but don't have him jumping all around as if he just walked out of the Final Fantasy VII movie, jumping off walls and carrying a gun 3 times his size.
YES, exaggeration was used to articulate my point.
